I recently had rhinoplasty surgery with Dr Gerbault which I am incredibly happy with. I’m English but live in Paris. I was extremely anxious about having a nose job, despite it being my dream, so I was particularly selective about the surgeon, and it took me a couple of years of consultations and searching to finally do it. I had already had consultations with 4 other surgeons, (3 in the UK and 1 in Paris) before I found Dr Gerbault, who I found thanks to a surgeon I saw in London, who happened to mention Dr Gerbault as he used the ultrasonic technique which Dr Gerbault invented. I didn't feel 100% confident with the other surgeons I had seen, either I felt they hadn't really listened to me, or they seemed unsure of what should be done with my nose, which didn’t fill me with confidence. Dr Gerbault on the other hand, was the perfect balance, he both listened to what I wanted and also seemed to have a very good idea himself about what would suit me and what should be done. He is also a very nice, calm, and confident person which I found very reassuring, and which made it a nice experience. I left my consultation with him feeling finally sure I had found the surgeon for me. Everything about the process was very smooth, organised and professional, which also filled me with confidence. Both Dr Gerbault’s practice and the hospital where I had it done are very nice environments, again helping make it as least anxiety inducing an experience as possible. One thing which really made Dr Gerbault stand out from the other surgeons I had seen, was the fact that he takes professional pictures of you and then uses a computer program to simulate what the nose job will look like. Other surgeons don’t do this specifically, they say, so as not to make any promises they can’t deliver. However, I really appreciated Dr Gerbault doing this so that I myself could envisage what it was going to look like, which is quite hard to imagine, and also so that I knew we were on the same page. Seeing the simulated images of myself with the nose job gave me the confidence to go through with it, because I liked what it looked like, and I knew exactly what Dr Gerbault was going to do. It took away a lot of the uncertainty, which, as an incredibly anxious person, I really appreciated. Everything about the operation went smoothly, I was in and out in a day, I had no pain afterwards and my recovery has, so far, been exactly as they said it would be. I am so happy with the results, Dr Gerbault gave me the nose job I dreamed of, and the one in the simulated images. I am so relieved and thankful. I was so scared about having it done, and so worried about regretting it. But I’m so happy I have had it done and wish I had had it done sooner. Lastly, although I do speak French, Dr Gerbault's English is completely fluent, so if you are an English speaking client you don't need to worry about any miscommunication or anything being lost in translation.
27F English speaker living abroad in France review! I requested a natural look for my deviated septum and dorsal hump (photos before/after 1 month post op). After seeing multiple surgeons at prestigious clinics/hospitals in Paris, Dr. Gerbault is the way to go! Dr. Gerbault and his team are professional and attentive. They accommodated speaking in English and ensured I understood the entire process every step of the way. I opted to have out-patient surgery and was able to leave the hospital same day after surgery. Nonetheless, Dr. Gerbault and Murielle were available via Whatapp with any question or concern I had as this was my first surgery and surgery abroad at that. For those debating if it's worth the travel if you do not live in Paris, neither did I - this was not an issue at all and I currently live 2 hours away. Dr. Gerbault takes pride in his craft and I enjoyed his explanations about the procedure/process. I genuinely enjoyed this experience and am bittersweet as it comes to an end. For anyone debating about this procedure, Dr. Gerbault and his team are waiting for you!
Had a great experience from start to finish! Dr Gerbault was so kind and informative, I felt confident he could give me the nose I wanted and he accomplished just that! I love my nose! I’m 3 months post op at the time of this post. Updated on 15 May 2023: Here are my before photos/ after was right after my cast removal, excuse the red eyes.. this was right after I was crying tears of joy..along with my 3 month post update. Truly happy with my results and highly recommend Dr Gerbault. I tried to post the photos with my original post but I’m not seeing them.
I have done a long research surgeons over London where I was living, Paris and Istanbul , and I can literally insure you that there is no results that compared to the natural and harmonious results that I saw on Dr Gerbault’s Website and Instagram , I got my first consultation in Nov 2021 where Dr Olivier Gerbault assured me that the surgeon was for me , he explained to me the medical terms and the ultrasonic method ( worth to highlight that he is the innovator of the Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty in the world ) , he takes the time to explain the whole thing in un understandable language, he let me know what should be reasonable for me, and he also takes the time to listen to my concerns, DR Gerbault is upfront and honest about what he will achieve, after a couple of months my surgical operation has been scheduled for March 2022, I got a second consultation just before the operation and despite the length of time between the first consultation and the second one , Dr Gerbault remembered my primary concerns and my case , that was my first time I went under anaesthesia and it was my first surgical operation, I was really under emotion and I had no complication, he performed the procedure very careful and skilfully, worth to highlight that I had minimal bleeding drainage, no pain, he called me the day after the surgery and explained to me what should I do , how I feel and he really took his time , now I feel really confident and according to him still I haven’t reached yet the final result, I feel like new person thanks to Dr Olivier Gerbault, I highly recommend this doctor for anyone interested in getting a rhinoplasty, this was one of the absolute best decisions of my entire life, I felt even sad at my last consultation with Dr Gerbault ,and I told him that it is like quite bizarre feeling to never see and meet again the person who contributed that way in my life by bringing confidence and harmony, we just want to keep him as close as someone important for us such in a family member or a close friend I was bit embarrassed saying that , but that was really the feeling I got , cannot thanking him enough for changing my life for better
English : Very satisfied for my plastic surgery by doctor Gerbault Français : très satisfait de mon opération réalisée par ce docteur gerbault. Le résultat est comme je l’attendais. Merci encore docteur
Satisfaite de ma rhinoplastie ultrasonique, résultat très naturel conforme à mes attentes et à ce qui était prévu avec le docteur. Opération rhinoplastie sur légère bosse visible uniquement d'un côté.
Hello, I believe I can answer quite accurately as I've begun to do rhinoplasties in 1990 using classical osteotomes and a mallet to break bones partly blindly and did this until 2013 when I began to design and use piezo instruments for ultrasonic rhinoplasty and septoplasty that I exclusively use since then.Piezo instruments are NOT just other instruments for rhinoplasty. They allow to safely do an approach of the bony vault (either open or closed) that enable to visualize the whole bony vault and to perform not only extremely precise osteotomies under direct visual control, but also bone sculpting and reshaping (rhinosculpture) which is not possible with a traditional approach and mechanical instruments. Moreover, nasal bones are extremely different in shape, thickness, brittleness, elasticity...from one patient to another and NOTHING allows to assess those specificities except piezo instruments. The impact is paramount as the type of osteotomies and bone sculpting will not at all be the same depending on those bone characteristics. This helps to minimize the risk of bony and septal defects after a rhinoplasty. But above all piezo instruments never create unwanted radiated fracture and preserve bone stability. Whoever the surgeon, mechanical instruments may create unwanted fracture and comminution at the area where the osteotome hits the bone. This can create bone instability, collapse, irregularities, step deformities, residual hump, asymmetries, axial issues... Finally, I agree that the surgeon's experience is irreplaceable in rhinoplasty, but the use of ultrasonic instruments allows to use different approaches, techniques very precisely and gently, to design less traumatic bone and septum reshaping for structural and preservation rhinoplasty. My answer is obviously biased as I'm an advocate of ultrasonic rhinoplasty since 10 years, but I don't know lot of surgeons who have more than 20 years experience with osteotomes and rasps AND 10 years experience with piezo instruments, and who can therefore master both instrumentations and techniques.
Hello, your nose seems a little long and wide, with a tip that seems indeed a little droopy, ill defined and wide. Reshaping only the tip could create an unbalanced nose resulting in a wide upper part. Therefore, my advice would be to have a complete rhinoplasty performed. You could beneficiate from an ultrasonic preservation rhinoplasty . Good luck for the future
Hello, your tip is mainly too bulky, wide, giving this bulbous appearance. Therefore, the tip, supratip, infratip and columella are unbalanced with the rest of the noseA tip reshaping combined with the restoration of a good tip support (to avoid distortion when smiling) should easily fix this appearance. Beware that trimming only the tip to debulk it may create deformities. Structural reshaping of the tip should be more appropriateGood luck for the future
Hello. I'm sorry for your alar base asymmetry. First a diagnosis must be made on the etiology of this retraction: excess cartilaginous trimming, cartilage location, scar contracture, mucosal stiffness after scar contracture...The right alar retraction can usually be fixed by different procedures that usually include a cartilaginous graft: either a relocation of the lateral crura reinforced by a graft, or an articulated alar rim graft. In case of scar contracture or mucosal defect, composite graft may be useful. The tip should be reshaped also and well supported.Your previous surgeon should help youGood luck for the future
Hello, unfortunately there aren't side pictures of your nose. However, nasal bones on siome asian patients are quite flat, wide, with a low dorsum, and the profile is usually ok. However, this doesn't apply for some Chinese patients or other asian patients (that can have a hump)As the tip must be better supported yo improve the width and definition (septal extension graft, columellar strut...), it's frequently also a little more projected (especially if it's already underprojected)Therefore, if the dorsum isn't slightly augmented, the nose may look scooped out on the side view. With a good technique, especially a good structure, the result and the refinement can be very significativeGood luck for the futureDr O Gerbault
