When i met Dr. Solish to have a skin cancer removed from my face i found him to be both rushed and over-confidant. I told him that his incision outline was too big as i had already had surgery on the area once before, i knew that some of the cancer was missed because the first surgeon missed the actual cancer location. It was only the size of a freckle and Solish took out a huge piece. When i tried to discuss the size of the incision with him he got very snippy with me and said "it doesn't matter to me, i get paid the same no matter how many times i do it". Meaning it would be best for him to get it all the first time, which defeats the purpose of Mohs surgery-the idea is to cut away as little as possible each time, therefore at least two cuttings are expected. But with me he got it all in the first shot, as i assumed he would with such a big cutting, and now i have an obvious scar and an obviously smaller left nostril. I don't understand why this doctor won't allow anyone to question him or have some input into their own treatment, it is my face after all and my wishes should have been considered. His demeanour at my post-op appointment was equally disappointing as i had a bump on the scar that he could addressed, but due to him being behind that day (the receptionist told me my appt. had been cancelled when it had not) he ended not fixing the bump and telling me to come back in six months if it's still there. Also, did not answer page when the incision got infected. So, overall not an awesome experience, won't be going back.
