I’ve always wanted my breast size reduced. In some people’s eyes their like “why” “I’d love to have your breast”. I have small hips, small butt, 36D boobs. Only we know how we each feel and what we need. I needed and wanted balanced proportions. The thought of traditional breast reduction was too much for me, so I bought minimizer bras and went about my life. Around a year and a half ago or so, I come across an article about breast liposuction. I started my search and found Kleinlipo. A few more months went by and finally thought “what do I have to lose”. My consultation was with Dr. Norma and Nurse Michele. THEY WERE BOTH FANTASTIC. All my questions were answered, I was clear about my expectations and knew this was for me. I scheduled a pre op, received all my instructions and scheduled surgery. Surgery day. I’m not a nervous nelly, I have a high pain tolerance and consider myself a great patient because I follow pre- and post-surgery instructions to the letter. So, mentally I was ready. I had a play by play about what to expect and what was next. I was made very, very comfortable and had complete confidence in Dr. Norma and Nurse Robin. The only thing that I felt at the end of surgery was a little loopy because you are given meds in prepping you for surgery to relax and stay relaxed, so that’s to be expected. When I got home, I was fatigued so I just relaxed and allowed myself to be catered too. The following day I took a shower, did all the dressings changes (I did the recommended two showers/dressing changes), I felt fatigued, so I relaxed the whole day (followed all the post op instructions). The second day after surgery I took a shower and realized I didn’t need to pad up like previously. I had purchased a loose-fitting sports bra w/front closure and inserted pads around incisions that were still draining (tiny little specs of draining), worked perfect. I put on my leotard, mesh, strapped on the Velcro belt, and went to work (I work from home). I still felt fatigued but ok. The third day after surgery, felt great, showered, little to almost NO drainage, put-on loose-fitting sports bra, inserted pads here and there, leotard on, mesh on, Velcro belt in place, no fatigue but I’m still going to take it easy for the next few days. The Velcro was eliminated the morning of the 7th day following surgery. I wore the leotard for exactly two weeks after surgery. It provided me great support as I am not ready to invest in new bras yet. For now, I’m wearing sports bra. A lot of time and investment went into my decision, and I want the best outcome. If I had to give a level of pain and discomfort, I’d say a VERY VERY VERY low “1” for like the first two days. Pre- and post op instructions are your best friends. I just had by 10 weeks postop....I told Dr. Norma "I'm so happy". Blouses, t-shirts, jackets, etc......I sound "vain" but I'm sooooooo happy, they all look beautiful, normal.
We treat almost all of our miraDry patients at the maximum treatment setting of 5 (for both their initial treatments as well as their secondary ones). During the consultation appointment, patients are informed that they may require more than one treatment and that they may book their second treatment 3 months after their initial procedure. However, most patients are well satisfied with only one miraDry treatment and do not require additional ones. To make the procedure affordable and show appreciation to our patients, our office offers a significant discount for the secondary miraDry procedure.
Smoother liposuction results can be achieved by using microcannulas which allow a more gradual and controlled removal of fat. This improves the ability of the surgeon to achieve smoother results. Larger cannulas are associated with an increased risk of liposuction producing skin depressions and irregularities. Larger cannulas may remove fat so quickly that there is a risk of removing too much fat. It is also more difficult to precisely control the direction of a large cannula. With any attempt to make a small incremental change in the direction of a large cannula there is tendency to re-enter a pre-existing tunnel within the fat. This lack of precise control contributes to the risk of skin irregularities associated with liposuction when using large cannulas.
Facial and Neck Liposuction Procedures Tumescent liposuction is the safest and usually the most effective technique for removing fat from the chin, cheeks and jowls. Liposuction involves fewer complications, fewer scars, avoids the dangers of general anesthesia, has a more rapid recovery, lower costs, and typically gives a more natural appearance compared to a facelift. Women Women who have local deposits of subcutaneous fat in the face and neck and who have excessively wrinkled skin will often get better results from liposuction combined with either a laser resurfacing or a chemical peel, than they would from a facelift. See figures 2 and 3. Younger women who have good skin elasticity, liposuction alone can also produce dramatic improvement and is a much simpler and safer procedure than a facelift. Thank you, Dr. Norma Kassardjian
The most successful and safest way to remove fat from the face and neck is through tumescent liposuction. This can provide more natural results than a facelift. Some positive outcomes of tumescent liposuction of the face and neck are fewer risks, scars, and rapid recovery. The ideal candidate is the patient who has realistic expectations and who will be satisfied with the results achievable by liposuction.
