When you look at the xray you can see the implant is placed very close to your one front tooth. As others point out the xray it too dark to determine for sure, but if there really is that much boneloss you could potentially end up also loosing your front tooth so i would see your dentist ASAP for new diagnostic imaging. Based on the photos provided without further testing it is difficult to provide you with a clear answer. Based on the radiograph it looks like some bone grafting might have been done this can cause more discomfort. On the photo inside your mouth you can see your "ridge" is very thin. Based on the site of the implant potentially the implant could have penetrated/fenestrated the bone. A 3D CBCT scan can confirm this. Also you would need to examine the proximity to the nerve. My next step would be to order a 3D CBCT scan to see position of implant in relation to the bone and nerve. Best. Dr. Oestervemb
