Dr. Karter literally gave me MY LIFE BACK!!! My primary rhinoplasty left me depressed and isolated for almost two years. My nose too short for my face, tip over projected, I was left with no columella, completed retracted and scarring. I decided to consult with Dr. Karter after a friend recommended him. I called his office and spoke with his Patient Coordinator Erin. She was an absolute sweetheart! I was explaining my horrible experience with my first surgeon and was bawling my eyes out. Erin was so kind and patient. She took the time to console me, so I felt comfortable moving forward with scheduling the consult. March 9, 2023, I met with Dr. Karter and Erin. Once again, I was bawling my eyes when telling my story. Dr. Karter was so professional and knowledgeable as well as very friendly and personable! He was so detailed on how he would go about fixing my nose. He provided several options. Even drew a diagram! I felt very comfortable and confident he would be on the top of my list of surgeons to do my revision. The fact is, I consulted with other surgeons and every time I walked out of their office, Dr. Karter was still number 1 on my list. After every consult with these other surgeons, I would have additional questions for Dr. Karter, and he had no issues meeting with me multiple times. My appointments were never rushed, he listened and answered all my questions every time we met. After a few months, I decided Dr. Karter was the right surgeon for me! I had my revision on January 11, 2024 and I am SO HAPPY with my results! Even with the cast on, I could see the improvements. He did exactly what I asked for! I had swelling and bruising which was expected but no pain. Dr. Karter called me a few hours after my surgery to check on me and gave me his number so I can reach him anytime. Which was so important because even though I trust Dr. Karter, my primary surgery left me traumatized and paranoid. It was truly nice to be able to reach him directly with any questions or concerns. I saw him again the day after surgery which made me feel even more at ease. The day of cast removal, Dr. Karter was about to hand me the mirror but paused and said now remember there is a lot of swelling. Which I already knew because I have thick skin, and this was a revision and he reminded me several times. LOL Anyway, I looked in the mirror and saw the old me (before primary) but a better version. I cried of total joy and could not thank him enough. Dr. Karter listened! Because of him, I am no longer hiding from family and friends! My confidence is back! I look forward for all swelling to subside and see my final results. In my opinion Dr. Karter is an extremely talented and a skilled doctor who truly cares about his patients! I have and could not recommend him enough! Once again, THANK YOU DR. NICHOLAS KARTER! P.S. When searching for a surgeon, beware of ones calling you to ask whether you decided to go ahead with the surgery and offering cash pricing. Some of the red flags I ignored with my primary surgeon and it’s something Dr. Karter’s office did not do.
I've know Dr Karter for a while and he is great at what he does. I was a little hesitant about my first treatments but he took the time to explain everything and made sure I felt comfortable. I have been very happy with my results and I plan to use Dr Karter for additional treatments in the future.
How do I begin?? Dr. Karter was different than any other Dr I have ever come across in all my years! He is so endearing and personable to start. He gave me all his time and attention and I enjoyed every minute with him. He is an amazing person ! This was a first time cosmetic surgery for me and I have to admit I was extremely nervous before the procedure. He was very reassuring and professional and I fully believed him when he said we could achieve the results I wanted. I am 3 months out and absolutely love my results! My friends and family cannot believe how much better I look. I still look like myself but younger and more refreshed. I had no difficulties during or after my surgery and was up and running again in just a couple of weeks! I look and feel so much better! It is so much fun going out socially now. Thank you Dr. Karter! I am so very thankful that our paths crossed.
Dr. Karter is an excellent facial plastic surgeon. He spent time with me explaining fillers, Botox, and other cosmetic options available to me. He was kind and friendly and very patient. He worked within my budget and I am thrilled with the results! I feel so vibrant and pretty at 58 years old!
I received Kybella treatments from Dr. Karter and my experience was wonderful! I decided to get Kybella done because the fat under my chin would not go away despite my efforts of healthy eating and exercise. It just wouldn’t budge!! From the beginning, Dr. Karter was very informative about the procedures, answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. I started with a consultation then decided to proceed and scheduled my first treatment the following week. I was fairly nervous for my first treatment but Dr. Karter and his staff did everything possible to make me feel comfortable from numbing medicine to ice rollers and packs afterwards! The procedure wasn’t as painful as I thought and it was over very soon! From there, swelling began and the medicine started to work it’s magic. The week after I experienced swelling, hardness, and tightening. Ice packs and Tylenol helped tremendously and after a week the swelling was gone and areas under my chin kind of felt jello like for that second week. For me, I could see improvement around the fourth week and had my second treatment at week 5! The second treatment was very easy and swelling was a little less but it followed the same pattern of swelling, hardening, ect.. I could start to see a huge improvement around 3rd/4th week of this treatment. It has been 2 months since my 2nd treatment and I am very happy with my results! The treatments are not an overnight fix and it does take some time to see the results. I used my hair curled under around the sides to kind of camoflauge the swelling. My profile is more defined and my submental fat right under my chin is gone! Currently I am deciding if I need a third treatment. I am so happy that I decided to use Kybella and I found Dr. Karter to administer it. It has helped my self-esteem and confidence to be a better wife and mom to my family and friend to others!!
Great, easy to talk to and easy to communicate with. Those things were most important to me. I got a facelift and before he did the procedure I was able to go back for another consultation because I was a little nervous. He answered all my questions and made me feel better!! I was concerned I would look so tight afterwards, but no my lift looked incredibly natural ..
I regret this every single day. It’s been almost three years. My results are so bad inside and out. I still cry daily over the mess Dr.Karter left on my face. Hope my money was worth it to you. Also gaslit me the ENTIRE time. Terrible all around. 0/10 is my review not even a 1.
I wish I could make this a positive review. My journey with Dr. Karter has been marked with unexpected outcome. Initially I had high hopes, I expressed my concerns and aesthetic goals through meeting with Dr. Karter (consult/pre-op), along with submitting a detailed email with attached pictures. I entered this surgery on March 2024 with realistic expectations, understanding that 100% perfection wasn’t attainable but hoping for significant improvement, the 70-80% that Dr. Karter stated he would aim for. Post-surgery I was disappointed to find my main concerns (aesthetics) unaddressed. The dent on top of my RT nostril, a RT retracted nostril, asymmetrical nostrils-one pointing up and the other pointing sideways, and old scars that I had expressed the need to have them revised during surgery. Dr Karter informed me that the old scars were not visible during surgery, therefore he didn’t revise them. When I looked at the table pictures, the old scars were visible. Perhaps he didn’t realize that the scars were less visible to him due to the amount of swelling. Unfortunately, once the swelling subsides, things become noticeable. Prior to surgery I was not informed that there would be a possibility that not all my concerns would be addressed during surgery and further in office procedures would be needed to fully resolve the issues. Had I been made aware of this possibility I would not have made the decision of having this surgery. On days with minimal swelling and stiffness, my concerns become more noticeable. During my follow up appointment, I expressed my dissatisfaction, only to be told by Dr. Karter that my nose was in very bad shape and there was nothing more he could have done to correct it. He stated he shaved down my bridge, removes old scar tissue, placed graft on my tip for support and corrected incision on the side of my nostrils. But left my main concerns unaddressed. My nose does not reflect the investment I made; my nose looks like I am in need of a revision. After hearing Dr. Karter say that there was nothing else, he could have done to fix the retraction and dent, I asked him of the possibility of cutting the inside of my nose along the right alar and pull the alar skin down to prevent it from fully retracting. Previously he stated he did every he could have, but when I asked him about the alar he stated he could take a small piece of cartilage from my ear and place it along my alar rim and dent on top of my nostril to correct them to the best of his ability. Left me wondering why didn’t he take this measure during surgery. I am aware that I am only a few weeks post op, but having gone through this same procedure before, I know how my nose will heal. There isn’t significant amount of swelling left-not enough to make a huge difference on the aesthetics of my nose. My concerns will continue to be there. I stated to Dr. Karter that I continued to be self-conscious about the appearance of my nose and it has kept me from being socially active. Dr. Karter responded “You have to go on with your life.” After being told by Dr. Karter that I have been unrealistic in regards to this surgery and the need to go on with my life, I realized that I could no longer continue under his care. I didn’t find the need to further discuss the trouble that I have been experiencing after the surgery. My breathing is not good, I have a developed a bump on the bridge of my nose, shooting pain on the RT side, pressure to the tip of my nose radiating to my front teeth, talking causes a lot of discomfort/pulling on the tip, occasional headaches, unable to wear my glasses, very sensitive to touch, and pain when it’s cold outside. I have invested in this procedure only to not have my main concerns (aesthetics) addressed. I would have been happy if attempts were made with slight improvement, slight improvement is better than no improvement. Dr. Karter felt my nose looked good enough to go out in public"people don't look at the nose." Lip lift also needs revision. Looks worse in person
This can often be confusing, but there are number of different specialties which perform facelift surgery. General plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, and some oculoplastic surgeons will perform facelifts. Each of these subspecialties has their own credentialing boards, and subsequently different board certifications. All would be qualified from a certifications standpoint. I think the most important thing is finding a surgeon with whom you can build a good relationship and trust with your face. This is often times a surgeon with a combination of experience, friendly demeanor, and openness/honesty. There are excellent surgeons from all of the above-mentioned fields who do fantastic work. I would suggest finding any of the above in your area and having a consultation to see if they feel like the right fit for you. I hope this helps, good luck!!
At 9 weeks after rhinoplasty you should be able to appreciate the rough shape of the nose, however you are far from the final product as there is still a significant amount of swelling that needs to resolve. The swelling after rhinoplasty tends to settle into the tip, and this is usually the last place to completely heal. You should see significant improvement in the definition of the tip over time, and it will take at least one year before you will see the final results. Try not to get discouraged, but as always make sure you share your concerns with your surgeon so that you can both track your progress together. I hope this helps, good luck!!
It is hard to tell exactly from the picture, but it looks like this may be due to the Restylane being injected to superficially into the tear trough. The skin of the lower eyelid is very thin and if filler is injected to superficially it can often time show through both as a bump and as a blue discoloration. The discoloration is caused from the reflection of light off the superficially placed product and is called the Tyndall effect. If superficial injection is in fact the cause of this problem then you would likely benefit from dissolving the product in the troublesome area with hyaluronidase. I would recommend contacting your injector in sharing you concerns with them. Again, if this is from a superficial injection then there should be a quick and easy fix. Hope this helps, good luck!!
A lower facelift should not make you appear to have a double chin. An important question would be whether you had just a cheek lift, or if you had the neck lift along with it. If you had the neck lift sometimes the removal of excess skin at the submental fat pad can cause a folding like effect to the remaining skin, which could give the appearance of a double chin. If this is the case often times a simple T excision done under local anesthesia in the office can resolve the issue. If you did not have a neck lift along with the facelift you may just be seeing some of the normal neck aging. I would suggest contacting your previous surgeon and sharing your concerns about your neckline. Together you can come up with the plan to address your area of concern. I hope this helps, good luck!!
There is really no one size fits all method of injecting the lips. Each patient needs to have their injections customize to their particular needs. Although it is very common to augment the vermilion border it is not absolutely necessary in every case. One of the typical findings of the aging lips is that there is a loss of volume at the transition between the white and pink lip (the vermilion border). This can cause a loss of the gentle slope from white lip to pink lip which is characteristic of youth. For that reason the vermilion border is often augmented to help restore those natural contours. However, if you already have adequate volume at the vermilion border and just need more volume in the substance of the lip, then augmentation of the vermilion can be skipped. I would recommend finding an injector in your area and sharing your specific concerns. Together you can craft a treatment plan to meet your goals. I hope this helps, good luck!!
