If you bite into hard foods, such as apples, carrots, or hard candies from the wrong angle, it can cause these fillings to break. Depending on how deep the crack is, it can either have another filling, or it may be best to place something stronger, such as a porcelain crown, that will not break easily under strong forces, or hard foods.
