I had the surgery because of being on numerous rounds of antiboditic treatments with no end in site. I went with the least invasive surgery with very little recovery time. Dr. Gregory explained the procedure to me and it was the best. I was awake during the surgery but was made comfortable and for the most part remember little and felt no pain or discomfort. My insurance covered the entire surgery. It was the best choice for me and i am very thankful that Dr. Gregory with her gentle touch was my surgeon. I highly recommend her. Hello. Thanks for your question. While it is normal to have some swelling and crusting inside the nose after sinus surgery, if you feel it has been getting worse, you might have an infection. In my practice, it is typical to see a patient back 2-3 times after sinus surgery to debride the crusting and mucus which can sometimes collect in the sinus cavities. If this is not done, sometimes that crusting and mucus can actually block the sinus and cause infection. The best option would be to see your surgeon as soon as possible for nasal endoscopy and evaluation.
