Ellacor review: I had one Ellacor treatment done to help tighten my lower face and neck. It gave me an impressive results and a noticeable lift on the lower face and neck after the first treatment. Day of: Used a topical numbing cream first, then the doctor applied nerve blocks and lidocaine injections. This was the most uncomfortable part of the whole process, but it was fast. After the numbing, the procedure was actually very comfortable, and took about 30 minutes. The procedure looks intense, and there is some blood - which I was prepared for, having watched others' Ellacor treatments done. Dr. Morgana Colombo, (board-certified dermatologist - brilliant doctor whom I trust completely with all my skin issues) stamped the needles across my mid face, jawline, and neck. It actually remove tiny "micro-cores" of excess skin, improving wrinkles and sagging. Immediately after, the skin looked bright pink like a sunburn with pinpoint bleeding, some bruising and swelling. I had no pain whatsoever. When I went home, I was instructed of a gentle skin-care regimen, and to avoid anything that could introduce bacteria to the treated area. I was sent home with a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and ALASTIN Regenerating Skin Nectar serum for after care. A wonderful product that definitely helped to speed up the healing. Over the next five to six days I had some mild scabbing that resolved quickly. It was no discomfort or pain at all after this treatment. The following morning I didn’t think about the treatment, and was reminded only when I walked in to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. That was clearly visible that I had a treatment done, but besides the look, no evidence of pain or discomfort. The first eight to ten days, I could definitely see the footprints from the needle marks from the machine, and the skin felt sandpapery. That subsided gradually each day. Everyone is different when it comes to the healing time after any procedure. I was told it is an average of about a week for the healing time, but my healing process from start to finish was 14 days. That’s when my skin looked good with a natural-looking appearance. I could go out without makeup, and no one would have known that I had any skin treatment done to my face 14 days before. I am in my late-50's, so the healing would take longer because the skin is not as robust with the cells. I also think it depends on the skin type a person has. I am fair skin type and have sensitive skin. I had this treatment done on a Friday, and went back to work on following Tuesday. I didn’t use any make up for first 10-12 days. I could have applied some after a week or so, but opted not to. I wore a mask anyway. After the first month, I experienced a slight lift on my jawline that gave the appearance of extra volume, and I noticed a slight tightening of the folds around my mouth. I know that true results wouldn't appear for a 3-4 months. It is recommended to have 2-3 treatments to get the best result, but I am very impressed with my Ellacor treatment, and I am confident that even 1-2 treatments give patients a satisfactory outcome to minimize wrinkles and improve laxity of the skin. My skin feels smoother with a better complexion. Ellacor is a great option if you are looking for a long-term solution for mid/lower-face wrinkles and excess skin but are not ready for a facelift. Updated on 24 Apr 2025: I have added some before and after photos. The before pictures was taken last September 2024. The after pictures are 7 months later. I am very pleased and impressed with the results I have received after only one treatment. Not only have I noticed the slight tightening, but the treatment gave me an overall healthy glow
The doctor was very informative. She quickly got a treatment plan together, and shared tips to handing issue. She answered all my question honestly and talked future planning for success if needed. She shared product and prescribed me medicine as required.
