It is understandable to be nervous about this process. Most people are... your speech will be affected for sometime after the insertion of an expander. You will have a foreign object in your mouth and you will need to get used to speaking with it. My advice, if possible, schedule your insertion appointment on a Friday. That will give you a weekend to adapt. Practice speaking, read aloud, sing, and slow down your speech. You will get used to it. 

While it is difficult to answer your question based on the limited amount of information provided, it is best to align your existing teeth prior to having dentures made in order to ensure the best possible fit for your dentures. 

Expanders are usually prescribed in order to correct cross bites and create space for misaligned teeth. They can be inserted prior to placing braces in order to avoid moving teeth back and forth. Once space is created with an expander, teeth can then move more easily into those spaces. Hope that helps.

Usually the toot movement with clear aligners is very slow and gradual. Depending on the movements that were being performed, as long as you were able to move from #13-15 and the tray actually fit after wearing it for several days, you should be ok. I would let your doctor know, tough.

The alignment of your teeth can be improved by placing braces on the upper teeth only, however, your bite - how your top and bottom teeth come together might not fit well without placing lower braces.
