I'm so excited to finally have a surgery date scheduled!I am a 41 year old wife and a mother to 3 mostly grown kids. My husband and I had our first child extremely young and 5 years later our second child followed by our third and last another five years later. I gained so much weight with each pregnancy and had really never lost any of all that excess weight until I finally made the decision to put myself first for the first time in 2015. I made changes to my diet, signed up for a gym membership, and underwent a lap band procedure. I have lost over 70 pounds and am bout 8 pounds from my goal weight. I have had 5 total consultations with 4 different surgeons and am so confident in my decision to schedule with Dr. Molly Walsh in Scottsdale, AZ. I will be undergoing an ETT and BL & BA with an extended incision to address the axilla. My urgent date is 7/1 just in time for my 42nd birthday! I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you all.
In 1996/97 I had a double mastectomy. After several reconstruction surgeries over the years I had a tram flap reconstruction w/nipples in 2007. The nipples failed. I saw several doctors who tried to repair without removal to no avail. I saw Dr. Molly Walsh in 2016 and she assured me she could help remove the nipples without having my breasts flatten. She did a great job! I was very pleased and would recommend her to ANYONE having breast reconstruction work. She is the best!! Thank you Dr Molly Walsh!!! LB
Having dr. Walsh plastic surgeon was amazing. I was diagnosed with breast cancer kidney cancer and ovarian cancer within the span of 3 weeks to say I was overwhelmed was an understatement. I had to meet with so many doctors and I was blessed with a dream team of doctors. Dr. Walsh came very highly recommended by my breast surgeon and I trusted her judgment. I was so glad I did Dr Walsh was so knowledgeable and her bedside manner was second to none. All of the staff at Forma or so nice and accommodating. After all my surgeries and my body heals, I have a couple other procedures in mind. She is going to be my first call!
I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at age 34 I went through 6 chemo and a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction. I had the very best team of doctors through my journey. However the one I am placing the review on currently has been so wonderful to help me obtain what I thought I may never have again. I have beautiful full breast and am so happy with how my body looks after this crazy journey. Dr. Walsh and her staff are without a doubt amazing! They have helped me to recovery from one of the scariest experiences I have ever been through. To think if I had another doctor through this would seem like a much much worse experience. She cares her staff cares about your outcome that is hard to find!
Dr. Walsh and her entire staff at Forma Plastic Surgery are truly talented, caring and professional. She always put the patient's needs first and is extremely responsive and personable. During the entire process of planning my surgery, the surgical procedure itself, and my post-operative care, Dr. Walsh and her team were supportive and met all my needs.
Dr. Walsh is an amazing surgeon! I knew I wanted to have a breast augmentation done but had no idea where to start and she walked me through everything and answerd all of my questions. She's very talented and has great bedside manner! I was nervous about liposuction but my end results are great! If you're looking for a plastic surgeon in the Scottsdale area she's fantastic!
I am 5 feet tall and for over 30 years I was overweight. And in the last 15 years I have been “morbidly obese”. At my heaviest, I weighed 240lbs. I have always been really active and I was able to use that fact to rationalize my obesity. I was able to hike and white water kayak. My husband has always been fantastic and I always felt loved and accepted. As an ER nurse, I saw how obesity directly influenced health and at some point, I could not lie to myself any longer. I decided to lose the weight and get healthy. I changed my diet and utilized a health coach and lost the weight. At 129lbs I felt fantastic. And at48, I felt like I was 30! I had so much energy and I was so proud of my hard work. However, although I looked great in clothes, it was a depressing to undress and see all of the extra skin at the end of the day. I literally had to lift up my panis to wash under it. EWWWWW! My breasts filled up my bra and I was a 36D…but, I had to roll them up and shove them into the cups (like rolling up a pair of socks!). I decided to investigate plastic surgery. Specifically, I was interested in a tummy tuck and breast lift. I was pretty sure that I would not want an augmentation-that just seemed too “fake” to me. As a nurse, it was important for me to choose a surgeon that achieved excellent outcomes (and had pictures to prove it) and was well respected by the medical community for their skill. Further, I wanted a woman and someone who would listen to and respect my desires and wants. I work in the recovery room of a local hospital so I asked for names from the surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists that I worked with. From there, I set up appointments and interviewed the top 3. My last interview was with Dr. Molly Walsh. By the end of the visit with her and her assistant, Renee, I felt very comfortable. Dr. Walsh listened very patiently to what I wanted. She asked me questions that helped me clarify the outcome that I desired. She did a physical exam and explained what she thought was possible. She did not try to sell me on any extra procedures (2 other PS had insisted that I needed liposuction of my flanks and implants with the breast lift). I went home and really didn’t have to think about it for very long…It was definitely going to be Dr. Walsh! I just felt so at ease with her. Ultimately, I did decided to do the tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation. (I decided that I did want that upper pole fullness. I was very clear with Dr. Walsh that I didn’t want to be HUGE though- I wanted to be about the same -36D). I scheduled for October 22, 2014. I did have some moments of panic in the month before surgery. Renee (Dr. Walsh’s assistant) was fantastic. She encouraged me to call and talk to her if I was getting worried or had questions. I did. It helped so much. She even asked me to come in and see Dr. Walsh again so we could just go over some of my concerns in person. Dr. Walsh was fantastic and so patient. As a nurse, I was getting worked up about all of the “details”. I brought in lists of questions. They tirelessly answered them all. I can’t begin to explain how reassuring that was! Surgery went great. I spent the night at the surgery center. My pain was well controlled and the night went well. Dr. Walsh came by in the morning and changed my dressings and sat down and patiently answered all of my questions. I went home that day with 2 drains and very thorough instructions. My recovery went well. Renee and Dr. Walsh did a great job preparing me for what to expect during this time and I saw them frequently for follow-up appointments. At about 4 weeks, I had a small area at the “T” junction on the underside of my breast that seemed to be coming open. I freaked out! I had these wild visions in my head of my breast splitting open and the implant flying out! Renee was so calm and (I know I keep using this word) patient. She explained exactly what was happening and had me come in to the office. I had totally over reacted. But, Dr. Walsh looked at it and gave me some cream to apply. It healed beautifully. Oh, did I mention that it was a Saturday on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND…and she came in to see me! Did I mention how patient they were??? Or how well cared for I felt??? I am posting a before picture and a picture at 6 weeks post-op. I am approaching the 6 month mark and my results are amazing. My scars are fading so nicely. I am so happy with my tummy tuck and my breasts (they are a perfect 36D!). It was difficult but worth it.
I have always wanted to get breast implants, but I was always scared of the surgery. I had seen different surgeons, but I never felt comfortable to make a decision, so I would put it off, until a friend referred me to Dr. Walsh. My friend was so happy with Dr. Walsh, and her work that I decided to consult her. I knew from the moment I walk into her office that Dr. Walsh was going to be my surgeon. I was blown away by the customer service. I felt that Dr. Walsh and her coordinator Renee held my hand through the consultation, and surgery.....even till this day. I cannot express enough how safe and confident I felt with Dr. Walsh and her expertise. I wish I would have met Dr. Walsh and her team earlier in life....I wouldn't have waited so long to get my implants. I cannot express enough how much I love Dr. Walsh's work and my breast implants!!!
What you are experiencing sounds completely normal. Incisions heal at varying rates and 13 weeks is still relatively early post op. I am sure your surgeon is recommending that you continue to massage your incisions daily, possibly even twice daily. This will help your incisions continue to heal well. Scars can often appear more discolored at three months post op and then will start to lighten over time. If you have specific concerns contact your surgeon. Good luck to you and enjoy your new look, congratulations on taking the step to proceed with such an amazing surgery.
