Bruising around the mouth and nose area is quite common after injections. I always tell my patients to avoid aspirin, alcohol, NSAIDs, herbals (G&#39;s: Ginkgo, Garlic, Ginseng) at least one week before treatment. If a bruise develops, it usually takes about a week to resolve. The best advice is to find a concealer, such as Dermablend, to hide the bruise during this time. Hang in there! Miriam Hanson MD.

I had two syringes of Juvederm two days ago. My doctor said nothing about avoiding aspirin, alcohol, vitamins or NSAIDS and now I have very obvious bruising around my mouth and nasolabial folds! I can&#39;t even cover it with makeup so I am very unhappy with the results. My question now is how long can I expect this horrible bruising to last and is there anything I can do to speed the healing?

This is a very common response to Retin-A creams. I usually tell patients to discontinue the medication for one week and then restart it 2x/week and increase as tolerated. Use a gentle moisturizing non-comedogenic (non-acne forming) &quot;cream&quot; 2-3x/day during this build-up phase. The moisturizer will help keep the skin hydrated and these side effects will diminish.

It is flat. reddish in color. size is: 1 cm x 5 cm. rectangular shape exactly under my lower lip.May I know whether it is port wine stain or Salmon patches/stork bites on my lower lip ? Yes, you can discontinue and restart for a short period of time while on vacation to reduce sun sensitivity. However, you may get an acne flare. I usually recommend to my patients that we lower the dose to 10 mg and then increase back to the full dose when they return. Either way, you should be &quot;Sun Smart&quot; and minimize sun exposure while on vacation. Accutane has a serum half life of 21 hours but can stay in the system for several days to weeks depending on its break down by the liver.

14yr old has been on accutane for 1 month (30mg) and will be traveling in 60 days to the carribean.Can he stop taking the Accutane prior and restart when we return? I was really excited two weeks ago because I was getting botox done for my eyes. I am disappointed that it did not make me look any younger at all! I am going back for a 2 week follow up but expect not to get instant results like I was told. When I look at before and after pictures the results look excellent and people with the wrinkles under the eyes look like they have diminished! It is most likely a lump of Juvederm that is too superficial. A granuloma is very rare with Juvederm, especially in the nasolabial folds.I would get a second opinion and try to dissolve the bump with hyaluronidase. If this does not work, consider a small biopsy or excision to express the material.

5 months ago I had Juvederm for naso folds. I wasn't very happy with results, 1 side didn't need as much but I feel he overfilled. When he was injecting that side, on the last injection he pulled out the needle &amp; right away there was a lump at injection site along with more bleeding than any other area. He said it will go down. 10 days later still there, went back in. Dr did nothing. Now 5 mos later, Juve is slightly going away &amp; lump seems more noticeable. How can I tell if it's a granuloma?

Botox can be safely used after laser therapy with minimal to no risk. I usually advise patients to wait one week between treatments. The two therapies together create a great combination.
