No. Plucking a hair from a mole does not increase its risk of turning into a cancer. However, sometimes the hair follicle can become inflamed, making a red bump (an ingrown hair), so plucking the hair from a mole is not necessarily recommended! Having a hair growing from a mole is usually a good sign that the mole is benign. Often times, a skin cancer will damage normal structures, making the hairs less likely to grow in the lesion. This is not always the case and you should still have your dermatologist evaluate any moles growing or changing!
