PRP for Hair Loss

Since a hair transplant is an autograft (transplanting follicles from one part of the body to another) it &nbsp;will not lead to grafts being rejected.&nbsp; However, if you have a type of alopecia called scarring alopecia (uncommon scalp disorders which can permanently damage the hair follicle and replace it with scar tissue) then transplanting hair in this scenario can lead to loss of grafts.&nbsp; It is best to have a thorough exam prior to your procedure and if there is any uncertainty then your physician should perform a scalp biopsy.&nbsp;

Are there some people that have a reaction to hair grafts and their skin will not accept them? Is there a way to test for this?

Using minoxidil 5% once a day will still be effective and can reduce the irritation sometimes caused by this treatment. Rubbing your scalp in the normal course of applying minoxidil should be fine.&nbsp;

After 3 month of my hair transplant i use monoxidil 5% Which dry my scalp in result i rub my scalp and use hot water alot which feel good Now i cut down my monoxidil to once a day Now i have stop rubbing it It will damage my growth plz ans And there no hair still after 3.5 month

Does rubbing my head 3 months post HT because of using Minoxidil damage my growth?

There are a wide variety of protocols when it comes to PRP treatments. Some physicians combine the PRP with additives, such as Acell, or combine the treatment with microneedling and dermarollers. The type of PRP centrifuge and the frequency of injections also vary among practices.&nbsp; At Bernstein Medical, we use the Emcyte Pure PRP System which provides a double centrifuge technique which seems to optimize the concentration of the platelets.&nbsp;

Does every clinic use the same method to prepare PRP?

With telogen effluvium the shed hair should return on its own, so PRP would most likely be a waste of time and money.&nbsp; I guess it is possible that PRP may stimulate quicker regrowth but, to my knowledge, there are no scientific studies to support this. PRP seems to have its greatest effectiveness in reversing the miniaturization due to androgenetic alopecia but even in these cases the response is modest.&nbsp; &nbsp;

If someone has no hair loss but has lost density due to say Telogen Effivulim. How effective is prp in returning hair to it's original state if you are consistent with it.

How effective is PRP?

You will need to have your blood drawn at the same location where you will be having the PRP treatments. If a technician is drawing the blood, perhaps you can ask the doctor to do it.&nbsp;

My doctor has recently started offering PRP for hair loss. However, it seems I am a difficult blood draw; I've gone twice and they haven't been able to draw enough blood either time. I've never had this issue when going for lab testing; however, the diagnostic labs will only draw blood for their own testing. Is there anywhere I can go to have the blood drawn and either take it with me or have it mailed to my doctor?

Where can I get blood drawn for PRP?

PRP treatment at 10 days post op should not be a problem because at this time, the grafts are permanent&nbsp;and cannot be dislodged, but check with your surgeon first.&nbsp;

Good Day Doctors. My questions is this, I already had FUE and I am on my 5th post op day. When is the soonest time that I can have my first PRP injection post op? I am. Planning on having it on my 10th day post op. Is it wise or safe to do it at that time? Thanks

I have not seen scalp massages effectively stimulate hair growth, nor is there good evidence supporting this theory. There are effective medical treatments for hair loss which you could discuss with a physician.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Can scalp massage stimulate hair growth?

It is hard to say without examining you. They may represent small cysts (milium) or scars.&nbsp; It would be best to see your surgeon for an evaluation.&nbsp;

I did my procedure in Turkey 5 weeks ago. Noticed hard white bumps. I checked with my family doctor as he confirmed they aren’t pimples nor infected. What should I do with them? have been applying shampoo directly for 10mins. Should I try baby oil on them before washing my head? washed hair twice a day.

White hard specks that aren’t pimples - 5 weeks post-op.

The transplanted grafts are permanent at 10 days post-operative, so wearing a woolen cap at 1 month is fine and will not harm the grafts.&nbsp;

Can I wear a woollen cap after 1 month of FUT hair transplant?

Female hair loss (diffuse patterned hair loss) may be caused by a number of different factors, including changes in hormone levels, stress, childbirth, and medications.&nbsp; Because the causes of diffuse thinning are so varied, an in-person examination is necessary for a proper evaluation. I would recommend to see a dermatologist as a next step.&nbsp;

I have started to get the hair loss pains on my scalp in places. I'm confident it is genetics. I have siblings w/similar issues. I'm only 28. I wouldn't be a good candidate for a transplant due to the overall thinness of my hair. I have looked into all options and they aren't cost or scientifically effective. Are there any options for me besides a wig? I am desperate and low income. My confidence is completely gone.
