I had a cyst on my back for many years. In 2016 it got infected and ruptured. My dermatologist drained it and put me on an antibiotic. A couple of years later it developed cellulitis, and it had to be drained again, as well as being put on another antibiotic. The dermatologist said the cyst may come back again, and it did. He said if it did come back that I would need to be seen by a plastic surgeon, so he could cut deeper to remove it. He referred me to Dr. Michael Vincent on Shady Grove Rd in Rockville, MD. Dr. Vincent's front desk staff were very pleasant, his nurse Kimberly was very nice and informative, and Dr. Vincent was very friendly. Everything went smoothly and I was at ease during the procedure. Dr. Vincent did a great job. Since I am a nurse/massage therapist with the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine, experienced with treating post surgical patients, I did lymphatic drainage on myself after the procedure, above and below the incision, to help reduce the swelling. The swelling went down quickly. I just had my follow-up on 8/2/22 and had my stitches removed. I was bandaged and was told to leave the bandage on 3 to 5 days. I just removed the bandage and the incision looks good. I just have some irritation from the bandage tape, of which I always get, due to having sensitive skin. Everything is healing nicely. I will have another follow-up in 4 months to see how the healing is progressing. I highly recommend Dr. Vincent and his staff. It was a very good experience all around.
Currently, I'm in the third month after my breast reduction surgery. Dr Vincent's team is excellent. They have personalized care for each and every patient. YOU are their most important person before, during and after surgery. There is an individualized approach to surgery with this team, unlike any you will encounter in a hospital. The surgery suite adjacent to Dr Vincent's office ensures personalized treatment for each individual. I was the Only patient there the morning of my surgery. Every member of Dr. Vincent's team was there only for me. It made me feel like a VIP, and I felt sure to get quality care. If anyone is contemplating plastic surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Vincent and his team. Personally I will be returning for other needed surgery in the coming new year. I can't thank Dr. Vincent and his highly skilled team enough for my surgery and its outcome.
After having my twins 5 years ago, i finally decided to do something about my stomach/abdomen area - its been the best decision ever. Dr. Vincent has been empathetic and supportive to my needs and overall goals. He has a very calming energy and years of experience that gives a patient confidence that you will have a successful outcome. The staff has been absolutely incredible and honestly have nothing bad to say about my experience and actually plan to go back for some other treatments in the future. I highly recommend him!!
I am delighted with the results of my procedure. I look like me, but better! Dr. Vincent, his staff, and the surgical team were fantastic and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. On the day of the surgery, I wasn’t even nervous. The healing is going well, and during the follow-up visits, Dr. Vincent and his staff treat me with the same warmth and professionalism as they did pre-op. I highly recommend Dr. Vincent and his medical team!
I needed to have an upper blepharoplasty as, sooner or later, my eyelids would begin to obscure my vision. I inherited this from my mom. Dr. Vincent's work was excellent -- the cosmetic result was that I look ten years younger (I am in my 50's) and the surgery was painless, a very brief recovery period, no complications. Importantly, I don't look different, just younger! I attribute this to the skill and experience of Dr. Vincent, in addition to his implicit understanding of what I wanted as a client: a conservative, undramatic reduction of excess, sagging eyelid skin. He has the eye of an artist, I am thrilled with the results.
My experience with Dr.Vincent has been excellent. I had a mastopexy done and conducted a lot of research prior to selecting a surgeon. I'm so glad I chose Dr.Vincent and couldn't be happier with the results. They actually turned out even better than I expected. Dr.Vincent is a very experienced and skilled surgeon and his staff has been nothing but positive and helpful throughout the entire experience.
Dr. Vincent is highly recommended for good reason. He has the skills and expertise to approach his work with great confidence. Dr. Vincent is soft-spoken and an excellent listener. His time is well managed in the sense that he allows time to speak with, listen to, and encourage his patients. He wants to establish rapport, to develop a treatment plan that is understood by his patients, and to have a strong relationship with is patients. Vincent has strong technical skills and has enjoyed a very successful practice. I needed a procedure on my nose following Mohs surgery which removed a cancerous growth. Dr, Vincent was an excellent doctor before, during and after his restorative procedure.
I've had work done by several plastic surgeons for various procedures but Dr. Vincent is my all time favorite. He is not only a master plastic surgeon but also a caring compassionate person. I had my buccal fat pads removed about 3 months ago. I had extra fluid and swelling that was slow to resolve in my right cheek. I saw him every 2 weeks until it resolved. He was gentle and reassuring at each visit.
In my experience with 2 minor procedures, Dr. Vincent's skill and professionalism have been consistently top-notch. Plus his staff are head-and-shoulders above any other medical office I've ever experienced. They are so well-organized! Great communication, always running on time, and a beautiful facility to top it off.
I felt reassured from my initial visit that I was in good hands after having a MOHS surgery that left a large hole in the left side of my nose. Dr. Vincent was comforting, compassionate and friendly during my many surgical procedures and follow up visits and I needed that, having never had surgery prior to this. Dr. Vincent did a wonderful job as my nose almost looks like this never occurred. I highly recommend him to anyone considering plastic surgery.
It sure sounds like you would be a good candidate to consider breast reduction surgery when the time is right. Most patients who have this type of surgery complain of heavy breasts, upper and/or lower back pain, some neck strain, grooving of their bra straps over their shoulders, and some rubbing under the breasts. The breast size should have been relatively unchanged for at least two years before having the surgery. It is natural to have concerns about any elective operation. The surgery is done on an outpatient basis, and usually under general anesthesia, so feeling the anesthetic should not be an issue. You will need two weeks off if you work or in school, and the full recovery can be 6-8 weeks in returning to all activities. Breast reduction surgery is highly successful for most patients. You are smart to do your research now, so you will be ready in another year or two. Best wishes. Michael Vincent, MD, FACS
Any plastic surgery procedure carries risks. Upper and lower blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is one of our most common operations, and the satisfaction rate is very high. The risks that you mentioned are possible, but most plastic surgeons have never even seen a case of blindness or double vision after eyelid surgery. Consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon and/or oculoplastic surgeon is very important. Choose a surgeon that has a great deal of experience and one that you relate to well, so consulting with several surgeons may be helpful. We perform eyelid surgery in our fully accredited OR in our office, and successful eyelid surgery can really make a difference for most people. Best wishes. Michael Vincent, MD, FACS
Rhinoplasty surgery of today is much more conservative than years ago. Reducing the wider nose can be challenging, but a reduction of the wide nostrils, and narrowing of the bridge can make the difference that you are looking for without dramatically changing your look. Most patients want to look like themselves after surgery, but want to see the improvement in the area that bothers them. In Rhinoplasty surgery, we often say that "less is more", meaning that it is usually best to tell your surgeon exactly what bothers you, and lean towards a conservative appoach. Disappointment is always possible, so consult with several surgeons, and choose the one with whom you feel the most comfortable. Best wishes. Michael Vincent, MD, FACS
You will continue to develop over the next few years, so in a sense, you may "grow into your nose" or find that it is very compatible with your face. Age 13 is really too young for an elective cosmetic rhinoplasty, so I would give yourself several more years. Your thoughts can change over time, so enjoy being your age for now. If you find that it still bothers you when you are 16, then obtaining a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or several surgeons may be worthwhile. Don't rush it for now. Take your time, enjoy life, and you will make the right decision when the time is right. Best wishes. Michael Vincent, MD, FACS
While you should see some of the results of the surgery at one month, it can take 3-6 months or longer to really apppreciate the final result. Subtle amounts of swelling remain at one month, and generally your nose will look better over time. Patience is hard for all of us, but your patience will be rewarded most of the time. We almost never recommend revisional nasal surgery for 12 months or more after your surgery, just to make sure you have had plenty of time for your nose to settle down. Best wishes.
