Tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) are most commonly performed on patients after significant weight loss or childbirth. At my South Carolina practices, I frequently perform this procedure to remove loose skin and tighten the abdominal muscles, creating a flatter, more toned stomach. Tummy tucks can also be combined with liposuction to help remove any lingering pockets of fat that diet and exercise alone cannot eliminate. In order to get the best results, we recommend that you wait to have your tummy tuck until you’ve reached your ideal weight and, for women, completed your family.
