Week 3 post op!! Already loving them. The right one is dropping a bit quicker than the left but Dr. said that's totally normal. I was scared of going too big for my frame and went with 350cc. I am soooo happy the way they are turning out! My stats: 5'7 103 pounds
I decided to post my story, this website has given me a lot of information and something I have been leaning on a lot since my nerves are starting to set in, so I hope me posting my story can help anyone like so many have me.. I am a Mom of three, and have breastfed all three of them. I weigh 140, 5'3" and have always been very petite, with a big butt and no boobs. I have never had large boobs at all, have always stayed an A cup except for while breastfeeding my middle child, they went to a size D then. I have thought about doing this for a long time and finally decided I am doing it. I have been for two consults, and each time have thought 275cc to 300cc is a good size for me. I am going tomorrow for one more sizing before my scheduled surgery on 2/14/2023. My boyfriend is going with me so I have a second set of eyes. I am looking for a natural look and have no interest in getting anything that will not look good for my body size. I am really nervous about recovery, and being put to sleep, I have only been put to sleep once and that was for my wisdom teeth. I will post updates here to keep up with my journey. Wish me luck! Updated on 14 Feb 2023: I finally did it! My procedure was scheduled for 7AM, we didnt get started until probably closer to 730. The actual proceduee took 45 minutes. We were in the car driving home by 1030. The worst part of the procedure was the nurse missing my vein in my wrist, I have always had IV'S in the bend of my arm, so this was new and a much more sensitive, she got the second one though. He went with moderate plus Mentor implant with 300cc on one 350cc on the other. I don't remember going to sleep, the whole process was very easy and relaxing. Nobody was rushing around, everyone explained what and how they would be doing, and everyone was so nice. When I woke up I was in quite a bit of pain, the nurse immediately gave me some meds and all was good. All in all the pain is not as bad as I expected. Someone explaned it as when your boobs get engorged when breastfeeding, it is very comparable, only difference is my arms and upper back are very sore. My right side is wose than the left, they had to put in a bigger implant on that side due to assemetry, so I am sure that is why.my range of motion is good on my left arm, but not at all on my right. Today I have survived on ibprofen and one mucle relaxer. I have not seen them yet, I won't until I take a shower 48 hours later. But, I will keep updating. Updated on 15 Feb 2023: Pain was a little worse today. I was trying to avoid the pain pills but I decided to take one. My right side is the worst, the left side has minimal discomfort. The nurse today called to check on me, I asked about it and she told me he had to do more manipulation on my right side, plus a got 50 more cc's on the right than the left due to assemetry. I have slept alot today. Honestly all of the pain is in my arms, upper back, and right under my armpit. But none of it is as bad as I thought it would be. I take a shower tonight, so it wil be my first time to see them. Updated on 16 Feb 2023: I woke up this morning a felt A LOT better than I did yesterday. The intense pain I was feeling in my right side has turned into minimal pain. I returned to work today and was able to survive on one muscle relaxer at 7AM and 800MG of ibprofen every 4 hours. The pain pills make me extremely itchy, so if I can avoid taking them I will. The place where the most pain is today is my upper back. My arms and boobs don't hurt much at all, but I am really tired. I took my bra off last night and tonight, I think they are going to look great once they drop and fluff. I can't wait! Updated on 18 Feb 2023: Day 3 came with A LOT of swelling. My bra was super tight, and I did have to take it off for a bit. Most swelling has subsided by day 4, I have minimal discomfort. I have taken ibprofen twice for the past two days and it has been more than enough. My right breast was bigger than the left one post OP day one, but now they are both pretty even. They are still high and hard, but I am very happy with them. My incisions are starting to cause some discomfort due to my bra band rubbing on them. Today my boyfriend looked at them and actually didn't look scared. Lol. I am very shocked at how easy recovery has been. I have taken two percs the whole time and the rest has just been ibprofen. I cannot wait to see the end result. Updated on 3 Mar 2023: It has been over two weeks now, so I wanted to update. My recovery has been amazing, for the most part. I had minimal pain by post op day 4, my right breast has been the most painful, it was my smallest, and the one he put the most cc's in so it makes sense why. Both breast have dropped and are even by one week check up, my right side was still very hard. My right side is now softer, very equal to the left side. Now for the ugly news that I did NOT expect..... I ended up with a yeast infection ON MY INCISIONS. Thursday at my 1 week post OP appt I had white pimple like spots on my breast, I started putting some mucipron ointment on them and they clearee up, the doctor said it was pretty common with the compression bra. On Sunday of this week my Steri strips came off my right side (left had already came off the week before) Monday I noticed extreme itching on my incisions, I expected some itching with healing but this was pretty bad. By Tuesday they were very inflammed and had a rash around them. Having kids with yeast infections, and working in the medical field before I pretty much knew what it was. I spoke to the nurse, she instructed me to wash the incisions 3x a day with regular dial soap, called me in a pill for yeast, and I have been putting Nystatin on them multiple times a day. It's day 5 and they feel a lot better today. I am very sensitive to some antibiotics, it is not abnormal for me to get a vaginal yeast infection when taking some antibiotics. I am sure with the compression bra, it being warm, and all the moisture, it just set me up for failure. I have attached pictures of what the yeast rash looked like in case anyone else runs into this. I am absolutely in love with my new boobies. They already look and feel so good! I really couldn't be happier.
Dr. Spann is by far has the most talent for a Plastic surgeon. He cares about you and listens to what you want. Dr. Spann explains everything to you and the pro's and con's of what you are wanting. He is not in a hurry. His nurse is so caring and educated as well: she listens to what you want and also helps guide you to what is needed to get your desired results.I had visited with two other doctors as well as read up on the procedure I wanted. Went for the consultation and knew he was the guy. Never thought twice and his office was four hours from my home. What he suggested and/or not suggested followed the research I had done. As he advised me of the pro's and con's of what I was wanting, he once again confirmed he knew his stuff: it followed right in line with what all I had read/researched.The day of surgery was easy, no pain with recovery and all calls were answered or returned promptly when I called for questions. I am now approx. 3 months post surg. and my results are great/just what I wanted. I had one concern post surg: showed him and he said yes I see what your talking about, check by with me in 6 months and if things have not changed it is an easy fix.He explained what would/could be done to correct things. He makes you feel so comfortable and he is so honest! He wants things done the right way. Know he did nothing wrong. This was something that could happen during this kind of procedure. Things still look great. I just want perfection and so does Dr. Spann. Remember to be realistic because he is going to tell ya the truth. So perfection is referring to what he has to work with from the starting point. He is going to make it look the best it can possibly look. I have nothing but positive things to say about him and his staff. Think you would be making a mistake if you decided to use any other surgeon in or outside the state of Arkansas. Thank you Dr. Spann and all of your staff!
I had liposuction with Dr. Spann on 10/27/20. I have done research online and social media groups trying to find the right surgeon for me. I found its almost impossible to find the right doctor in Arkansas online due to the lack of social media post. I was very nervous with the outcome due to the lack of before and after photos. I didn’t want to go out of state or out of the country. I wanted to be able to recover at home. I’m so glad I chose Dr. Spann. I’m only 3 DPO but I can already tell my results will be amazing. He was very kind and attentive to my questions and concerns. He was honest and didn’t give me any unrealistic expectations.
I finally got it done! He is the best ever. My butt looks amazing and he really snatched my waist. If you’re considering a BBL, he is your man! Plus, pain isn’t bad at all! He calmed me down when my nerves were high and let me know everything was going to be okay! I’m snatched up, y’all! Like a friend said Spann is the man!!! Go see him! Updated on 29 Oct 2020: Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op and I am so in love with my results! I feel great, moving around good, and no pain! Swelling seems to be going down. I’m not having any issues whatsoever. The first week was very uncomfortable and lots of emotions were experienced. I’m just so happy I did this. Updated on 2 Nov 2020: Today was my first day back at work. I sit down to do my job but I had to make arrangements to stand because the BBL cushion was hurting my back. But it went well! I feel great. I have soreness to my body from Lipo and my butt is tingly which I know is normal! Driving, working, and moving around nearly back to normal. Loving my results so far! Updated on 5 Nov 2020: I’m doing every back to normal! I feel great! I don’t need any ibuprofen whatsoever. No pain other than some soreness. Working, driving, and moving around VERY carefully though. I don’t have to have help dressing myself because I couldn’t bend all the way, I don’t need to have somebody drive me, etc. I started standing at work because the BBL cushion was just hurting my back. When I drive I use the cushion with pillows behind my back and no issues. Swelling is going down especially in my waist and stomach. Super tiny and snatched! Love my hips and butt! It’s everything I ever wanted!! Booty is still hard but it’ll take time to soften! Updated on 13 Nov 2020: Still obsessed! Just have some swelling on my sides and back more than anywhere else. The swelling just feels hard and bumpy there and booty is still hard. I’m living for this though booooooty though!! Never could have gotten a booty like this any other way. Updated on 20 Nov 2020: Went to my visit with Dr. Spann and went great for my post op visit appointment. Still a little bit of inflammation in my butt and back but it will go down soon. Very pleased and obsessed with my results and absolutely couldn’t be happier. I was excited to see him and the nurses to talk about what all I could do and they said I could do every back to normal completely! Feels good to know I don’t have to stress but I’m so scared to sit and lay down lol. Once I get over my fear I’ll finally sit down without the bbl cushion slowly hahaha. Love my results! Updated on 20 Nov 2020: It’s so cool seeing the difference of swelling go down. My butt didn’t lose shape or much size, just kinda went down from swelling! I love it! My hips stayed amazingly. Waist is tiny. I am so in love. Updated on 27 Nov 2020: Feeing good! Just a little bit of minor pains in the butt area, sides, and back. Nothing to even bother taking Tylenol or ibuprofen for. I have a little bit of fat necrosis in one cheek but Dr. Spann said not to worry because once it dissolves on it’s own it most likely won’t be noticeable. I couldn’t feel it at my appointment with him but now I do. It’s honestly just sore in that spot. I’ve done a lot of research and it’s not anybody’s fault, it just happens! Still very happy with my body. He snatched me up and I couldn’t be more pleased! Updated on 24 Dec 2020: Everything is still going great. Only wearing faja at night. No swelling issues. I feel like my booty is still a tad bit tight but other than that, perfection. I still haven’t sat and I was cleared to at 6 weeks po. I’m just scared but I’m going to push myself to sit starting tomorrow. I would like to use Dr. Spann for round 2 because now I want even more! Hahaha he did an awesome job and I have no doubt he’ll do an awesome job again whenever I decide to add more later on!
Dr. Spann performed a breast reduction on me in March of 2019 and I couldn't be any more pleased with the results! Recovery was pain free and post op care was excellent! His nurse always answered my multiple questions usually in just a few minutes. For the first time in 30+ years I no longer have constant neck and back pain and now stand up straight and not slumped over! My husband was so impressed with my results he booked Dr. Spann to do his complicated cleft palate rhinoplasty and ended up with phenomenal results! We can't say enough great things about this amazing doctor and highly recommend him to every one we know when they ask who is the best plastic surgeon in Arkansas!
I'm so excited to become one of Dr.Spann clients. My surgery is only 17 days away before I get rid of his mom bod lol. Upon my second consultation with Dr.Spann he was very friendly and always smiling. He told me what to expect and I'm very happy about that. I'm also on a blood thinner due to a value replacement but he made me feel very comfortable and ensured me I'm in good hands :) ! I think I've purchased everything from my walker, recliner chair, even a recovery nurse to help care for me the first week. My pre op is up next !
My doctor was incredible. He has an excellent bedside manner and seems to really care about his patients and his work. Know that my review at this time doesn't have anything to do with him or his skill. I was an extremely active person. I made sure to work out as often as possible up to my surgery date because I believe that healthy people heal better. . . Bc of the stacking of my procedure (TT + Breast lift + lipo) I was warned not to work, or work out until weeks after. The day after surgery, I was up walking. I used a walker for a couple of days as needed but that's long gone now. However, I'm not sleeping. My muscle relaxer allows me roughly three hours of sleep and then I'm awoken by painful swelling and full body clenching muscle spasms. Further, I'm struggling to regulate my body temperature. Either blazing hot or shivering. As part of the post op procedure, compression garments are required, and I'm understanding of this. My painful swelling in addition to this, though, means that I'm literally never comfortable. Not at home. Not in bed. Not in the grocery store. My breasts are great. I don't notice any discomfort with them at all unless I attempt to sleep on my side, in which case gravity reminds me that I have several breast incisions. I had a post op appointment with my surgeon today who insists that things are going splendidly. I. Don't. Feel. That. . . . Not right now. I'm so swollen that I can't wear my clothes. I'm worried about going back to work if I can't dress myself. I rarely eat bc the garments are so tight that I don't feel even food will fit inside me. He felt that maybe I took the prescribed ibuprofen too long and that it may be worsening my swelling. I'm ceasing that. He also suggested that walking more will help. I plan to do that and will update again in a couple weeks. Updated on 12 Feb 2020: It’s been almost a week since my first review. My incisions are closing nicely. My nipples don’t look like they could slide off anymore. It’s great. I’m still not really able to look at my TT incision. It’s a lot. I had more skin to remove on my right side so it goes from hip to hip and then around a few more inches. My belly button is a foreign thing. I can’t feel it or the skin around it most of the time, but occasionally it will get blazing hot or I’ll get a little zing of pain as the nerves attempt to reconnect. I’m still very very swollen. Maybe not quite as sausage-like, but it’s the worst when I first wake up in the morning. I can feel knots all over my back from the lipo, but sleeping in any position aside from on my back is not an option. I cannot tell if I like my shape or not. I honestly feel like my lower belly where all the skin used to be is swollen to it’s previous size so it doesn’t seem much different. I’m sure that’s not the case. I stopped taking a muscle relaxer before bed because I was waking up a few hours later in excruciating pain from the swelling and would have to take a pain pill. Now I take a pain pill before bed and 86 the muscle relaxer entirely. That was great for a few days, but then the pain pill started making me feel not so great. Last night and the previous night I had heart burn and a little nausea. I ate. It wasn’t on an empty stomach. It was my first night to try and sleep in the bed. Maybe it was my positioning. On my back, pillow under my head and pillow under my knees. We had Indian food for dinner, but the spices are supposed to help with inflammation. I still woke up swollen, so that remains to be determined. Outside of aesthetics and comfort, I got some bad news about work. I was working two part time jobs. One less physical with a terrible boss and one great but much more physically strenuous. I had a conversation with the good one and we decided that I would leave the bad one, and they’d make things work while I was recovering and then I could come back and work more hours to replace the other job. Instead, I found out that they won’t let me come back at all until I’m approved to lift 50 lbs. and they actually took hours from me as well. This means I probably won’t be able to make the payments for my care credit that I used for the surgery. I feels like forever until I’ll be released to lift 50 lbs. my doctor isn’t even seeing me again until the 27th. I have a masters, so the fact that I can only find work part time for minimum wage two days per week is really depressing and stressful. Anyway, I’ll update again next week, or maybe when I have my follow up in 100 years. Updated on 29 Feb 2020: Pros: This week I was cleared for the things I hoped to be cleared for. Baths. Light jogging. No more 24/7 compression. Sleeping on my stomach. I am still swollen a bit. That’s to be expected. I also still have a softball sized area in my lower abdomen that has stretch marks and has fat in it. The doctor explained why he had to leave it. In a few months I’ll be considering whether or not I want him to go in and do more extensive lipo. Right now, I don’t want to be poked and prodded anymore, so it doesn’t seem that bad. But I do notice the pooch. It’s the first thing I see when I look down. I’m no longer wearing the zip front bras. I like being in my regular sports bras, and being able to take a break from compression is awesome. I’ll want it for a while during workouts. I have not been clearing for lifting weights and cannot go back to work yet bc they require a 50 lb. lift clearance. Other than that, great healing. My belly button is awesome! I’m experiencing some burning around my TT incision. It seems to be normal nerve healing. Updated on 24 Mar 2020: I changed my mind. This isn’t worth it. A lot of my back is still numb. A large portion of my abdomen is still numb. Jogging makes my abs hurt. I’m over not being able to see my ‘actual results’ bc I have to expect swelling for four more months?!? Like, seriously, how are you supposed to feel any sort of excitement when you can’t even tell what was done for half a year?
So! Hey, y'all! I ha a beautiful BA in 2013.... I went wit 375-400 cc saline ultra high profile implants. I loved my results. 7 years later it was time to replace. I went wit 650 cc silicone xtra implants.... and here is my story! I will add pics next Updated on 25 Oct 2019: I have had two breast augmentations By Dr. Spann and I honestly will never see another plastic surgeon. His staff is incredible, they treat you like friends/family. (Side note, I think he's had the same staff or 8 years... that says enough!) Dr spann takes his time and truly perfects his patients results. My first BA I went from a small A cup to a full C... I had zero complications, healed beautifully and loved my results. The second BA was 6 days ago... I went much larger, (375 cc to 650 cc) and while In surgery dr spann realized that the implants we chose to accommodate for the change in volume in my breasts (I breastfed 3 kids) was not adequate. He told me during surgery there was a noticeable difference and he couldn't let me deal with those results. YALL..... he ate the cost of a $1300 implant to make sure I left there looking perfect!! A surgeon with that level of care is legit unheard of. Not once, but twice ... over 8 years... dr spann is consistent, honest, and patient driven. I could not recommend any higher!!
So after years of desire and research I have finally decided to have a BBL procedure. I choose Dr. Spann because he had amazing reviews and when I meet him in person I just knew he was the Dr. for me. He gave me his expert advice. We discussed 3 possible procedures. TT, BBL and Liposonix or Coolsculpting. I felt BBL was the best fit for me . He examined me and if i could have done a same day surgery I would have. He explained in detail the procedures pro and cons, and we talked about my medical history along with my expectations. I was real comfortable with him and his nurse. I left the office sure it was time for me to move foward with the BBL. I am excited and nervous! I plan to post before pictures and after, along with my weight height , and BMI...probably a few days prior. Updated on 18 Aug 2019: So the week of surgery has arrived. I'm nevous and excited. My battle buddy from the military called me on yesterday and I asked her to keep me in her prayers as I go in on Friday to have a procedure done. She asked was I okay and I told her yes I was having a BBL and to my surprise battle is in recovery right now! She just had a BBL and breast lift. I was immediately comforted because I now have a partner in this process. Guess that's why she is my battle buddy. I love her to life. I've posted 4 days pre op pics. Updated on 18 Aug 2019: Getting my mind ready this week and resting up before Friday. Looking for something comfortable to slip into for day of surgery. Bought some dial anti bacterial soap clean up in before surgery and when I am able to shower afterward. Concerned a lil about infection so making sure all things are clean. Other than that it just a wait game until Friday morning at 7am. Updated on 19 Aug 2019: Getting my mind ready this week and resting up before Friday. The staff and Dr. Spann are hands down excellent. He has already reached out fo my hubby to make sure I'm well. No pain really just sore. I showered in my garment just yesterday. And today i showered with it off. I slipped into some compression leggings I had and a compression top. I haven't really assessed the results because o didn't want to sike myself out. I definitely have a lot bruising and I am swollen. Updated on 26 Aug 2019: Feeling really good today. Still very swollen and some what sore. But all is well. I have some itching going on but it's not unbearable. The areas of lipo are numb and the booty is very hard. I able to move around really well after taking a pain pill so that's when I get up and clean house and cook. I did add extra compression around my midsection so I wear a waist trainer over my garment. I am anxiously awaiting final results. Nurse called today to check on me no issues to report. Feeling good. Updated on 26 Aug 2019: Day 4 post op. All seems to be well. I'm feeling very optimistic about results to come. The nurse called today to check on me. I'm able to do most activities after taking pain pill. Though I'm not really in pain mostly sore and tight. I continue yo shower with anti bacterial soap and treat the incisions by applying aquaphor ointment. I have some itching, but it's not unbearable. Updated on 26 Aug 2019: Day 4 post op. Updated on 28 Aug 2019: I will see Dr Spann tomorrow for my 1 week post appointment and I hope I can keep it together! I'm extremely excited about my results. The healing process has be really mild. Still swollen bruising has gone away in some spots. My energy level is coming back. I do get really tight and stiff so I try to keep moving, but other than that I feel good. Oh yes I do have a lot of itching so I lotioned down in some anti itch cream to help soothe it some. Updated on 2 Sep 2019: I saw Dr. Spann on August 29th for my 1 week post OP. I really didn't have any questions about recovery as it was kind of early in the recovery process. I felt healing was going as expected. He seemed to be pleased with my recovery as I was too. I took progress photos and a video and he wanted to see me back in 2mths. I was very appreciative to him and the staff they were all so wonderful every step of the way. I'm thankful that all went well. I feel very confident that I chose Littlerock's best plastic surgeon and that my results to come will reflect that. Updated on 6 Sep 2019: I was back to work this week. THe stiffness and tightness are finally going away. I have no bruises. I did use Arnicare gel that i believed helped alot with the bruising and stiffness. I wear my waist trainer under my uniform and at night. It gives me good back support. I am sitting on my new booty haven't seen much shrinkage it's still full and round. I love that Dr. Spann sculpted me just right and gave me a real natural figure. Nothing looks excessive. I am able to do some lite exercises. Push ups, squats, jogging. I haven't done abs yet my mid section is still kind of numb. My flexibility was pretty limited but as of tonight I can tie my shoes. Updated on 7 Sep 2019: ALL smiles this way. I'm so appreciative. These results are looking better every day. I feel amazing. I'M SO SO SO GLAD I DID THIS FOR ME! After 4 miscarriages and birthing 4 children my body has endured alot. I am grateful for the bounce back and the tweeks that have been made along the way. My journey has been very enlightening. I hope to have been as detailed as i could possibly be. My experience has been very different from some of the profiles I have read as it relates to having massages, supply list, travel, and recovery homes. I'm not minimizing anyone's go thru or experience. I think we all can agree these procedures hit differently for everyone. If anyone has any questions for mr about my process please feel free to reach out to me. Updated on 9 Sep 2019: Love, love, love the new me! I'm back in the gym. New booty is soft and naturally round, my waist is slim and trim and the cloths are fitting just right. This decision was so worth it. I'm still in awe of it all. Updated on 9 Sep 2019: I continue to work out tightness with stretching and rolling on the foam roller. My lower lower back is where I'm mostly tight and my left thigh is tight in one small area. Swelling has gone down alot in my waste not sure if I'm at my peak though. I still wear my waist trainer during the day under my uniform. My new booty is completely soft and round. The size has reduced some due to swelling but I can tell it's still plump and round more than before.
First of all, you're gorgeous. Based off your pictures I can appreciate some of you concerns about you shape. Quick answer. Yes you can improve the shape. The skin thickness is more relevant to the appearance of your tip after rhinoplasty. Which you mention you like. Taking down the top of your nose (the dorsum) and narrowing the bones (osteotomies) would achieve the results you're looking for. I would typically approach this through a closed approach and your tip would be unaltered.
Very good question. Yes. A rhinoplasty would help. Your nose fine but lacks a couple of things: dorsal aesthetic lines, poor tip projection and lateral contour. To correct it would likely require supporting the tip and dorsum (top of nose) with cartilage.Regarding your chin, an implant would be the easiest to contour and improve your profile. Some surgeons may consider moving your chin forward also (genioplasty).
Very common question. I agree with the other surgeon's that you're going to find the best result the closer you are to your ideal weight. Regarding which is best, I would believe a tummy tuck would be a more powerful reshaping procedure for you than a BBL.
Based on your pictures, a combination of volume (fillers) and skin therapy would best. Lasers/skin rejuvenation would be your best bet if you're budgeting. Fillers are temporary and really only mask the issue at hand which is loss of skin elasticity. Make sure you choose a provider that offers a range of treatments: filler, resurfacing, etc. These offices usually give the most appropriate advice.
Based on your pictures these do not look infected and are likely spots of suture extrusion. My general recommendation is to apply topical antibiotics along with conservative care as recommended by your surgeon.Best wishes.
