I have always wanted a BA. I thought after having my children I would do it but concerns of safety and recovery time were always a factor. I read about Ideal implant a few months ago and thought it would be a good choice for me. Safety was of important to me and I was a slightly concerned with the possible unknown rupture with silicone. I consulted with a few other PS and they helped guide me through the process to feel comfortable undergoing BA surgery but they didn’t offer Ideal. My friend suggested I go to Dr Newman and after calling Ideal, I learned he had used Ideal implants for many years. Seemed like the perfect fit! He is a great surgeon with excellent bedside manner. I am very pleased with the results so far and look forward to seeing the final outcome. For reference sake, I weigh 122 pounds and height is 5’4
Dr. Michael K. Newman has changed my life! There are no words to express what he has done for me. His precision, professionalism, eye for beauty, and bedside manner make him an outstanding cosmetic surgeon. He exceeded my results expectations. He made the journey an easy one in so many ways and will never be able to thank him enough for it. I learned about Dr. Newman from another surgeon in 2015. Ever since then I've followed his work. My only regret was not having gone to him sooner. His office staff also goes above and beyond when it comes to getting you prepared for your procedure. They're the nicest ladies. If I could give a 100-star review I would!
I was not liking the lines and droopiness around my face. Consulted with Dr. Newman. After facelift, fat transfer, and CO2 laser treatment, I looked lots younger and happier. Recovery went quicker than expected.
For those of you considering cosmetic surgery, look no further than Dr. Newman. I went on a few consultations and Dr. Newman made feel at ease and comfortable throughout the entire process and answered all of my silly questions with patience and kindness. I had breast augmentation and liposuction to my abdomen and I am thrilled with my results thus far. It has been 3 months since since my surgery and I look and feel great. I had concerns about my breast not looking or feeling natural and Dr. Newman listened to all of my concerns and made the best recommendation. I chose Ideal implants because I did not want to worry about experiencing a silent rupture with silicone implants or having to deal with a yearly MRI. The Ideal implants provided me with peace of mind because they are saline with the look and feel of silicone (natural breast tissue). No one knows that I have breast implants unless I make it known. I went from a 34B to a 34D, which balances out my figure quite nicely. I was also worried about the pain associated with surgery , however that was minimal and I was back at work (desk job) in 4 days. The incisions under my breast are healing well and I am confident that they will be barely noticeable in time. Look no further than Dr. Newman for your cosmetic surgery needs, you will have no regrets!
Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis was devastating. I wasn’t even 40 yet, was in a new relationship, and had no immediate family that lived in the same state for support. I spent the first few days frantically searching for doctors. Despite the alcohol and crying fits, this was a very thorough search. I read through testimonials, called offices, and visited potential doctors. What I didn’t know before the diagnosis is that good doctors tag team. This means, if you find a Surgical Oncologist you trust, that Surgical Oncologist has a go-to Plastic Surgeon that they trust as well. The first surgery (double mastectomy), if you decide to go with expanders and later implants, is done in two parts. The first half, the Surgical Oncologists removes your breast tissue, tumor(s), and nipples if you had to have them removed. The second half belongs to the Plastic Surgeon who inserts the expanders. The next few months, you’re under his or her care, and depending on what you choose for your body, the Plastic Surgeon will help you get results with good aesthetics. Who you find to do this part of the job is very important. At first, I was hard on myself for being vain. “This isn’t about how you look. You have cancer.” But, since your body will be going through a lot, your relationship with your body can greatly affect your mental health and overall wellbeing. How you relate to yourself physically after your breasts are gone can help you heal. Most people find an Oncologist first, then a Surgical Oncologist, then the Plastic Surgeon. I went through the process backwards. I met with a Surgical Oncologist that was good, but I wasn’t comfortable with the Plastic Surgeon she recommended. The images he had in his portfolio didn’t look natural to me. I called Southbay Plastic Surgeons on a whim based on reviews. The woman who answered the phone (Angie) was helpful right from the start. She said that all their doctors are amazing, but when I asked her if there is someone she would choose to work on her if she were in the same situation, she said Dr. Newman. “He’s our youngest doctor. Everybody loves him.” To reassure me, she asked me to pick out images of other cancer patients whose results I liked. I emailed her a list with links and it turned out that the image I was most impressed with was Dr. Newman’s work. I can’t recommend him enough. I had some concerns about shape and size, but he really works with you to find change you’re comfortable with while maintaining natural results. Dr. Newman was not only kind and attentive, he was also a perfectionist. He even recommended an amazing Surgical Oncologist from City of Hope. I ended up having a double mastectomy (avoiding radiation), expanders, then reconstruction. It was the most painful process I’ve had to go through physically and mentally, but it was made better knowing I had the best care possible. Two months after the last surgery, I went to get fitted for new bras. The woman couldn’t tell I had a mastectomy until I showed her the scars underneath. She said whoever did the work was phenomenal. At the end of the day, my body actually looks better now than it did before I was sick. I wouldn’t ever want to go through the process again, but if I had to, I’d still pick Dr. Newman.
Dr. Newman is truly an incredible Doctor; not only was he able to make me feel safe and comfortable, but he is also a profoundly talented surgeon. After losing 110 pounds, I was left with extra skin on my arms, lower abdomen and inner thighs; I also had severe sagging in my breasts. After multiple meetings, Dr. Newman and I decided that the best course of action was to start with an arm and breast lift (no implants). I am currently 2.5 weeks post-op from this procedure and I am already so impressed with my results; Dr. Newman truly exceeded my expectations! My breasts are full and firm with a perfect natural look; they are significantly more symmetrical and sit much higher on my chest; the sensation has already returned to most of the affected area. My arms are tight and noticeably smaller; the muscle definition I built prior to surgery is also significantly more noticeable! My healing process has been very smooth and my incisions are clean and minimal. Not only did Dr. Newman do a remarkable job with the surgery, but he also made me feel safe and comfortable prior to the procedure. He listened to all my questions and concerns and he was able to address them thoroughly and with ease. Dr. Newman was honest about risks and expectations regarding the procedure, making sure I was fully informed and prepared. His manner is very calming and through all of our conversations, I never felt rushed or like he had somewhere else to be. Truly an extraordinary doctor. I’m so excited to continue my journey with Dr. Newman this Summer to treat my tummy and thighs; I will be undergoing a 360 body lift and a thigh lift. I could never imagine undergoing another procedure with anyone but Dr. Newman.
I always LOVED my body! Then after having twins, going from 115 pounds to 188 during pregnancy and nursing two babies at the same time my breast were NOTHING like they use to be. I always loved my breast and found myself very unhappy with a part of me I once was so proud of and happy to show off. Well for about 2 or 3 years I thought about having my breast done. Read articles, looked at before and after pictures and had conversations with several women who had them done. All said the same thing " they never regretted their decision". Well I asked a friend of mine if he knew of any good doctors in the area and he mentioned Dr. Newman. So I scheduled a consultation and in I go. Now I have to say that not once in my interaction with Rachel or Dr. Newman did I feel like they were trying to sell me anything. They were both so patient with my questions and concerns. Dr. Newman took his time with me explaining everything. Rachel let me feel each implant and ask questions as long as I wanted to. I mean I was there for probably an hour or so and they really sent me home with all the answers I needed. Well a few months go by and I asked for a second consultation because it had been about 7 or 8 months since my first. Rachel of course scheduled me in and was happy to see me again. Once again there was no rushing, I didn't feel like they were trying to convince me or as if all that mattered was that I gave them my money. Dr. Newman actually helped me pick my size based on what I wanted which was fuller but natural breast. Well fast forward I had my surgery and everything went well. The staff made sure to contact me about my follow up appointments, Dr. Newman made sure everything was going well. Now at first your breast look crazy and this was a scary part because I seemed to be healing wonderfully I even went back to work a week later but my breast looked so pointy. This is all part of the process but you are just ready to see if you made the right decision!! Well as of today ALL of my friends and even women I don't know tell me how AMAZING and NATURAL my breast look AND feel. I even went to a party where 7 other women I've known for over 10 years wanted to see and touch them and they couldn't believe how great they looked. I can't tell you how much more confident I feel now that my breast are in proportion with the rest of my body. I wear bras when I want to and sometimes I don't and they look just as good in a bra or without. If you didn't know me personally you'd never know I had them done and those who do know me all think they look great and can also see the difference in me and how I feel in my new bathing suits :-) I tried to keep this short lol but I couldn't!! I have given Dr. Newman office number out to anyone that is considering any cosmetic procedure. Before I go, my scars are under my breast and they are so small and so well placed that you can barely see them. Ladies we work really hard to be good mothers, good friends, good girlfriends/wives etc. Happy you means everyone around you is happy so take it from me and treat yourself! If its something YOU want for YOU then do it!! YOU WILL NOT regret being good to yourself. Thank You Dr. Newman and his entire staff you guys are THE BEST!
So far, so good. Dr. Newman did my breast augmentation about 5 months ago, and it’s amazing how comfortable I’ve gotten with plastic surgery since finding him. Finding the right surgeon is key, and I have no doubt Dr. Newman is the best. I have Lipo of bilateral flanks. They took about 1000ccs. Pain was not much of an issue, but I will say say 3-5 was highly uncomfortable. Everything else has been easy. Glad I did it!!!
Dr. Newman was about getting me the results I wanted. I had a total of 6 consultations prior to selecting Dr. Newman as my surgeon. I breast fed three kids for a total of one year each. My breasts were pretty much destroyed by the time I finished breast feeding my youngest child. I had small, deflated, stretched out and sagging breasts. Dr. Newman was able to give my breasts a makeover. I had a breast augmentation with a donut lift. Not every women’s breasts are candidates for a donut lift but he felt I was and the after results are better than we both expected. He was able to avoid the unnecessary vertical scars because of his advanced technique, high caliber experience and good judgement. He also used a Keller funnel no touch technique that helps avoid bacteria entering during surgery which can lead to capsular contracture. Dr. Newman was open to see me several times prior to surgery as I was nervous and worried about my results. He was kind, patience, knowledgeable and always open to hear my feedback. Before surgery Dr. Newman also prescribed a patch for nausea and I had no nausea after the surgery! I am very prone to nausea after surgery and because of his expertise he prescribes this to his patience so they don’t feel so awful after surgery. Rachel the patient coordinator is an angel. She answered my never ending questions, accommodated all my requests. She was honest and transparent through the whole process. Also getting my medication was a breeze. I was able to email my prescription to Tormed pharmacy and that same day delivered it to my door step. I was provided a list of all charges with a detailed breakdown that is something that not all office do. She demonstrated that she was invested in my best interest at all times. The customer service I have received was exceptional before and after my procedure. At no point was there pressure of any kind. When it came down to choosing a implant both Dr. Newman and Rachel helped me make a good collaborative decision. I very active and it’s important to me that the implant not affect my lifestyle. The location is also very family friendly no inappropriate photos plastered all over the waiting room. Customer service like this is very hard to find nowadays. I hope this practice continues to do well so others can receive the same treatment that I did.
I have a “big” frame at 5’11” and 156 lbs. I’ve always had small, droopy boobs. After breastfeeding my twins, I couldn’t stand to look or touch my breasts! They were so squishy, uneven and saggy. It took a me almost 3 years, but I finally did it on 1/3/18. I went to Dr. Newman in Torrance, CA. So far, so good! Can’t wait for them to settle since it seems promising so far. Updated on 8 Jan 2018: The last 5 days have gone by so fast! All the soreness is gone, and I haven’t needed pain meds since day 3. They still feel like rocks, but not as hard as the first few days. I do have shooting pains in my right breast and arm. I think this is normal nerve pain from what I’ve read on here. I should have done this sooner!! Oh, I should say that I have back pain from the awkward sleeping which I didn’t anticipate. Plus, I get weird chills in my breasts that feel similar to when my milk came in after giving birth. Updated on 12 Jan 2018: It’s amazing how much better I feel every single day. I have noticed I’m able to lift my arms above my head again with no resistance. I love my progress! I wanted a natural look along with making my boobs look more symmetrical. I truly think my doctor delivered perfectly.
Switching to smaller implants is common. Going from a DD cup to a C cup may require a lift at the same time. The bad part about a lift is that it usually involves scars in order to remove the excess skin, but patients are usually very pleased with the resulting breast shape. The biggest risks are related to circulation, healing, asymmetry, and implant position.
