I've always been disgusted with the weird bump on my nose, and I'd been teased about it into my adulthood. All my coworkers assumed I had broken it at some point because it was "so messed up looking." So for my 21st birthday in the fall of 2013, my mom took me to an ENT in Poulsbo. My family had already seen him for various things over the years. We decided I needed septoplasty and turbinate reduction and that at the same time I would get cosmetic work done. Looking back, I wish I had decided to get my tip reduced as well as the rest of it. It still looks "big" but not weirdly deformed like it did before. Recovery was more uncomfortable and inconvenient than painful. I do have a small scar that I had before surgery. Due to reshaping my nose, it's now in a different spot, seemingly. I wish it had been removed as we had discussed as it takes away from how nice it looks now. It was a subtle but important change. I can also breathe much better. But again, I wish I'd done something more dramatic as I still have a big nose. What I did have done was well worth it though.
