Dr. Howard is a gifted surgeon and a compassionate doctor. I am so grateful that I chose to have the diep flap breast reconstruction surgery in lieu of getting a breast implant following my mastectomy. It feels so natural - I feel like myself again!

I had a bi-lateral mastectomy (nipple sparing) and tissue expanders put in at the same time. After completing my breast cancer treatment, Dr Howard swapped out the expanders for implants. Having the expanders in during radiation not only helped minimize radiation side effects but also made me feel more normal during this stage of treatment. Overall, I wanted to look as much the same as I did before surgery...and I'm extremely happy with the results.

Dr. Howard and his staff provided me with exceptional medical/surgical care from my initial consultation with him regarding my reconstruction options following my double mastectomy to my most recent post-surgical follow-up appointment. I felt prepared going into my surgery, my recovery has gone as I expected based on what Dr. Howard had told me and I am pleased with the results. Over the past several years, I have had numerous occurrences of skin cancer (basal and squamous cells) to my scalp and facial area. In most cases, these cancer cells were successfully treated by my Dermatologist, via Mohs surgery. Most recently, however, a diagnosis of Atypical Fiberoxanthoma to my scalp, which was initially treated via Mohs surgery and followed by a six-week regimen of radiation, unfortunately required more extensive surgery. My surgical team consisted of a trio of specialists: a Surgical Oncologist, a Neurological Surgeon and a Plastic Surgeon. Surgery went well, with each Surgeon lending their expertise. Following a period of recuperation and extensive discussion with my Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Michael A. Howard, I decided to proceed with scalp reconstruction. In preparation, Dr. Howard thoroughly explained the procedure to me and my family; responding to each of our questions, guiding us both before and after surgery and through each follow-up visit. I am pleased to report a most successful outcome, from scalp reconstruction surgery. Dr. Howard performed surgery on me in July, and my experience was very positive. It took a long time to confront an issue present for years. Dr. Howard has been extremely professional, empathetic and caring through the whole process. He made me feel that the decision to have surgery was the right one for me. My experience with Dr. Howard has been excellent. I had a double mastectomy and he performed the reconstruction. His surgical skills are excellent (my incisions are perfect!) and his demeanor is friendly.

I am thrilled with the outcome of my procedure. After having two fairly large babies, my abdominal wall was separated and did not respond to physical therapy. The tummy tuck greatly improved my appearance, and I feel stronger in my core as well. The recovery from this procedure is difficult, particularly the first week following surgery, but the payoff is well worth it.

Dr. Howard myself seemed nice and professional...his receptionist on the other hand. You would have thought I stole something from this lady. BEYOND rude. His other reviews on different sites mention her too. I booked with another Doctor. Can’t have that negativity around.
