This man knows what he's doing.. I just can't believe i am not in any pain during this recovery.. I do suggest eating plenty of protein, veggies and fruit and drink plenty of water.. stay away from sodium.
I was diagnosed with diastasis recti, which is when your abdominal muscles separate. I looked like I was 7 months pregnant. I met with Dr. Maclin and instantly new he was the right doctor for me. I am soooo pleased with my results. I watched dozens of YouTube videos so I new what to expect with the recovery. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair. My recovery was much better than what I expected. I’m a nurse and I know good bedside manners and Dr. Maclin has wonderful bedside manners. I’m 10 weeks post op and I still have monthly visits. After surgery he gives his personal cell phone number and will answer ANYTIME you call with questions, no matter how dumb the question may be. I would 100% recommend do this all over again if I had too. I am very pleased with my results and my swelling has not completely gone down. I have so much more confidence and my clothes fit so much better. Thanks again Dr. Maclin.
I had been wanting the procedure for years. Glad I finally did it! Everyone at the office was great and answered all my questions! Definitely recommend Dr. Maclin and his staff! And even got to use Care Credit!
Five stars just doesn't give Dr. Maclin and his nurse Jenny the praise they deserve. ABSOLUTELY excellent bedside manners, superb expertise in his work and has such a great connection with his patients. Dr. Maclin did a full tummy tuck on me and I couldn't be more happy. I contiplated for years getting this procedure done and had 3 different doctors give me a consultation. It was when I stumbled upon Dr. Maclin that I knew he was definitely the one that should do my surgery. My posture has straighten (no back pain), my confidence has increased in how I see myself and my clothes fit so much better. I am 5'7" @ 160 lbs. I already work out but my weight has been so much better to manage with the belly fat removed. Jenny made herself available just as much as Dr. Maclin. She answered any questions I had without making me feel like I was bothering her or no matter how silly the question was. The healing process was better than I imagined. Looking for a surgeon? Look no more! Dr, Maclin is the real deal...a magnificent doctor!!!
I fought to do this for years, big mistake! I'm 57 and I went in at 208lbs at 5'7". I'm not a small girl and never will be. Dr. Maclin not only treated has his patient but also felt like a caring friend. I am a person that usually never warms up to doctors. I had such large breasts I just wanted them gone. We talked about the size I am comfortable maintaining and his artistic talent made me proportionate to my size. I couldn't be happier and never thought a girl my size could look to so good. I'll post pictures, which I thought I would never do, but I feel so good. I'm only 3 weeks postop so I'm still swollen but can't wait for the end results. Thank you Dr. Maclin!
Dr. Maclin is an amazing surgeon! He’s very professional, knowledgeable, informative, attentive, passionate, and clear in what to expect throughout the entire surgical process. I went in for a tummy tuck and couldn’t be more pleased with my results and experience. I look amazing, I mean a total transformation from before and after. I am beyond pleased with my results. His staff is very friendly, warm and accommodating as well. I highly recommend Dr. Maclin to anyone who is in need of a competent, patient, and friendly surgeon.
Dr. Maclin is an exceptional surgeon. He utilizes an artistic approach to reconstructive and plastic surgery that encompasses your needs as well as desired goal(s). Dr. Maclin is intentional in informing potential patients of what to expect from surgery and post-operative recovery. On the day of surgery, Dr. Maclin was supportive and reassuring which eliminated my nervousness. The office staff was consistently kind and service oriented. My post-operative appointments were the best part of my surgical experience; I always left the office with a smile and prepared for the next stage of recovery. Above all, Dr. Maclin has mastered a level of humanistic professionalism that will continue to support a thriving practice and build a community of grateful men and women with a new outlook on life.
Dr. Maclin is one of the best doctors I have ever met and nothing I can say really does justice to the man … he is an excellent surgeon, extremely intelligent, thorough, patient and caring. I have received nothing but great care from him and his entire staff. Dr. Maclin’s work speaks for itself … one consultation with him and you’ll understand why he gets such rave reviews. One thing that I appreciated, during the first consultation with Dr. Maclin, was his humane, compassionate, empathetic and supportive bedside manner. I was impressed that he asked me what I wanted to achieve before he made any suggestions. Plenty of doctors can achieve great results, but not many look at it from a patient-centered viewpoint and really take the time to get to know their patients like Dr. Maclin does. He sincerely listens to his patients and puts them at ease. I never felt rushed during office visits and any questions I had, he willingly and honestly answered. He was always available and provided his personal cell phone number and encouraged me to call with any pre-op questions no matter how small. My surgery was scheduled in November so most of my recovery time and follow-up visits were over the holidays. Dr. Maclin informed me when he was going to be out of the St. Louis area for Thanksgiving and Christmas but he still insisted that I call, at any time, if I experienced any problems or even if I just had post-op questions. The few times that I did call Dr. Maclin’s cell, he immediately answered and let it be known that he was available for any help and/or support that I needed during my recovery. Dr. Maclin was open and respectful and I felt as though any problems and needs were always understood. It took me over 10 years to work up the courage to get my tummy tuck and lipo … my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner…but, I am so thankful that I did my research and selected Dr. Maclin to perform my procedures. My family and colleagues are in awe at my transformation and how amazing I look just three months post-op. Honestly, I don’t even look like the same person and I feel amazing. I am beyond pleased with my new “hour-glass” figure and overwhelmed by Dr. Maclin’s incredible professionalism, amazing compassion and comprehensive care for his patients. He makes you feel like you are the only patient at Parkcrest Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Center…so, deciding to go with Dr. Maclin was absolutely the perfect fit for me and I highly recommend Dr. Maclin and his team.
Dr. Maclin answered all of my and my husbands questions prior to surgery. Dr. Maclin did a great job with my reduction. I am delighted with the results and the post operative care. I would recommend him to anyone. He is awesome!!
Even at my smallest of 180lbs and athletic build Ive have protruding flanks that Ive HATED. Ive been considering lipo since I was 22 but no one took me seriously. Said I could work out and diet blah blah blah cause of my age. Been there tried EVERY weight loss remedy out there. Now, after having a kid my flanks are even worse. Scheduled a consultation with Dr. Melvin after doing some research. I was initially nervous because I've had a consult at this same office with a Dr that left me in tears and feeling very stupid for even considering lipo. The wait was short. Dr. Melvin came in and at first I thought he was going to be like the last doctor as he explained to me that the breast lift I was also considering could be a waste of time since I plan to have more kids. But then as he got more detailed and gave examples so it didn't come off condescending. He spent time going over all my options and what ifs. He was funny and personable. Talked fast but if I asked questions he would clarify. I left feeling well informed of my options. Not considering a breast lift at this point in time but Im looking to schedule my surgery date for flank and abdominal lipo in the near future. Updates to come.
Silicone sheets on surgical scars are very helpful to manage scarring, are very easy to use, and work very well to minimize scar appearance. However one of the most frequent problems with the sheets are redness and itching under the sheets. This is not an allergic reaction. It is more than likely "fungal excoriation" (diaper rash, athlete's foot, jock itch) caused by trapping moisture close to the skin and allowing yeast to proliferate and irritate the skin. Common symptoms are redness, itching and weeping inflamed tender skin, directly under where the sheets lie. It can mimic bacterial skin infection so it is important to be seen by your surgeon, however skin infection (cellulitis) is rare and is almost always accompanied by fever and malaise (feeling like crap). The solution is to take a break from the sheets and let the skin dry out. Anti-fungal cream can help the symptoms and itching resolve faster. Steroid creams can help initially but actually promote yeast and will prolong your ordeal. You can resume using the sheets after you become more comfortable (1 week), but limit use to 8-12 hours per day. Hope this helps and good luck.
