So before I did this, I OBSESSIVELY read reviews on here. I waited an entire year before biting the bullet. For this reason, I want to give a very descriptive review for anyone that feels the same way. I will update as often as possible! I got my FUPA done (for lack of a better term). But the pooch we all hate. Two small ones, so that I had the entire area covered. I have worked out most of my life, I've eaten healthy, but unfortunately, I'm just a bigger girl that can't seem to lose the stubborn fat I have. "Dense fat" is what I was told I have. It's set up camp and doesn't want to leave. The procedure: It was cold, it did suck my stomach in like a vacuum, but I almost fell asleep. It wasn't that bad, just like an ice pack. The massage after, was in fact as bad as you've heard. Not pass out bad, but it hurts. It only takes 3 minutes and they put pressure on it for a minute or two after and you're done. Not too bad, so don't let that scare you off. Day of procedure: Area is numb and feels odd. A little sore. But I went grocery shopping right after. It's not really an area you touch too often, so unless you touched it, you wouldn't know it's numb. It was swollen, to about double it's size. Wore spanx all day and throughout the night. Day 2-4: Day 2, the swelling had already gone down a good 50%. Through the days, bruising was bad on one side, barely there on the other. And that's all it felt like, a bruise. It hurt if I pushed on it or if I bent, which caused pressure on it. It was a bit sore. But that's about it. I was fine going to an Easter egg hunt, playing with my boyfriend's kid, and going about my life. Wore spanx all day and night. Day 5: Swelling gone, bruise gone, forgot I even got anything done. Half the feeling is back, only a little isn't but again, I wouldn't know unless I touched it. Started massaging for a few minutes a day. Friday the 13th will be 2 full weeks, but I'll be gone in Vegas. So I'll update again when I can! Updated on 11 May 2018: This morning will be the beginning of Week 5. I had a few times I felt some nerve pain in the very beginning once it was un-numbing, but to be honest it felt like someone pinched me randomly. Sometimes I barely noticed. It wasn't often. I would massage daily for the first two weeks, and even went into the office to get a lymph node massage (for free). I got the feeling back completely after about 3ish weeks all over. The first two weeks I had the feeling back in most places. Personally, I notice a difference in the area being smaller. I noticed it about a week in, which is surprising as the doctor said it takes a minimum of two weeks for it to start working. It's funny because I could feel the lump inside of frozen fat cells and I no longer feel them so they have dispersed. The photos don't seem to do total justice, probably because the angles are different, but from the front I can tell it's less jiggly. You can't tell in photos, which is why I didn't post that. All the photos have dates so you can see the progression. March 30th is before I went in, and Week 1 is probably the biggest since there was still a bit of swelling, but not much. So far, if it keeps going down like it's supposed to (since final results are after 4 months) I'd say it will be well worth it. Counting on more of a difference!
I've done Coolsculpting at least once in every area and at 4 different places in Los Angeles. One might call be an addict lol. Because it works! I'm 45, diet, exercise and I can't lose the extra jiggle. Coolsculpting is perfect! I went to Dr. Melina Jampolis at the Body Sculpting Studio in studio city. She is a self proclaimed perfectionist. She took the time to measure my hips to make sure I got the perfect sculpt. I'm severely asymmetrical, so I was happy she took her time. Her massage technique was different too. I could tell she put a lot of pride in her work and she really thought about your end result! Hopefully I won't need anymore, maybe my arms, one more time ;) Melina will be the only person I go to for now on.
Some areas of the skin may be more sensitive than others when receiving radio frequency treatments. Variations in the tissue such as density, loose skin, stretch marks, scars and sometimes tattoos can cause an area to be more sensitive and feel more sensitive to the heat than other nearby areas. Feeling a slight zap is also common during treatments. It usually occurs when an electrode loses contact with the skin. Variations in body structure, too much hair, too much or too little treatment gel (Glide) and certain types of lotions or personal products can increase the likelihood of this occurring. Make sure not to wear any lotion, self-tanners or makeup in the treatment area on the day of treatment as some of ingredients are difficult to completely wipe off. Additionally, let your technician know when you feel too hot or a zap; they can sometime adjust their technique slightly or change the settings in order to minimize the discomfort.
Hi Brittny - I definitely think that coolsculpting is a good option for you as you appear to have subcutaneous fat in the lower abdomen and a small amount in the upper abdomen. I would recommend starting with 2 cool advantage applicators in the lower abdomen and would angle them as much as possible without compromising the treatment to optimize skin 'draping' after the procedure since you do have loose skin. I would definitely not sign up for two rounds of treatment initially as many places require you to do as I think you will probably be happy with one round and I would be concerned about over treating the area resulting in very loose skin which can be more challenging to treat in women who have had children. Its hard to tell from the photo about your upper abs but it looks like you may have a little fullness above the belly button so if after treating the lower abs you notice a small roll there you could follow up with a petite applicator as it does not look like you have as much volume. Good luck. We have treated hundreds of moms post baby and most are super happy with their results (ps. it probably goes without saying but if you are planning on having another baby I would not get any treatment at this time)
