Excellent!!!! Dr Balakhani is a wonderful doctor! He is an expert in the field of skin care and plastic surgery!! I am so glad he is my doctor! His staff are helpful and caring. Truly a great experience! As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
My experience was very good. I felt very comfortable and confident while procedure was being administered. The cyst was deeper than expected. I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever and have to have the 20 stitches removed in 10 days
My experience from my first consultation to the very last follow up visit was excellent. Dr. Balakhani is an expert in his field and very carefully explained the procedure and what was to happen. He was very meticulous in his planing and a perfectionist when it comes to getting the best results.
After losing weight and keeping it off for a couple years, I decided it was time to go for a mommy makeover (tummy tuck, breast lift, breast implants, and liposuction). I looked into multiple surgeons and found Dr. Balakhani to be the best fit. He was the most accommodating when it came to my teaching schedule and the tiny window I had to get the surgery and recover before heading back to school. I had three consultations with other surgeons booked and am so thankful I happened to meet Dr. Balakhani first; it really couldn’t have been a better experience. Right after the first appointment, I cancelled with the other surgeons and scheduled the procedure. Dr. Balakhani and his staff are incredibly kind, patient, and helpful - I feel like they really take their time to answer questions and make sure you’re comfortable versus some doctors who rush you out the door. I’m now more than 8 months out from my surgery and am thrilled with the results. It’s been life changing in the best of ways. If you’re considering plastic surgery and are in the Delaware area, definitely do your research but be sure to add Dr. Balakhani to your list of surgeons to meet with. You won’t be disappointed!

For the past several years I have been comtemplating a TT and in less than 48 hours I will be on the flat side. I first had my consult in February and after having to reschedule my TT in April and then earlier this month it is here. First I want to thank all of you that have shared your experiences. Without you, I wouldn't have felt as prepared as I do now. I used all of your checklists for supplies; I have taken your suggestions on how to control swelling, ease the constipation and to relieve the pain. I am ready for this. To share, I will be 53 on May 27th, so this is my early birthday gift to myself. I have three children and the last was a c-section thus the start of the belly I have today. I am not thin, with the exception of this stomach, but I am happy with me. I am 5'2" at 178 lbs. I read all of your reviews and photos and everyone is so beautiful. I can't wait to join your ranks. Well I will keep you posted.. Updated on 23 May 2013: Well tomorrow is the day. 8 hours from now the transformation will begin. I am so ready. Calm. Just added my photo of the last time I see this tummy. Updated on 23 May 2013: Updated on 25 May 2013: Yay. I am on the flat side. First I give God all the glory and the honor. I feel good. Coming out of surgery yesterday the first thing I had to do was feel my stomach. So excited not to feel the budge. Flat flat flat Stayed in the hospital overnight. Glad I did, but felt no pain, and had help going to the bathroom. This morning moving around good. The DR came by and said I look good. I got a small peak and it didn't look bad. About to get dress and head home. Will keep you posted. Updated on 26 May 2013: I slept well last night. I am in a recliner and with it fully reclined I got a good night's sleep. I have to thank my son and daughter. They have been taking care of me ensuring I get my medication right on time. Who could have thought. Again I have to give a hugh THANK YOU to all of my sisters that had TTs before me and provided all the advice on this site. I followed the advice to ensure I didn't become constipated and voila this morning I had a BM. Felt good if you know what I mean. I was due for pain pills at 830 but I think I am going to skip it. Maybe just an Advil because I am just feeling pressure. As for my scar I still havent seen it. My doctor told me I could shower and redress it tomorrow so I hope to have pictures. My backside is a little sore from the lipo but nothing extreme. Have a good day all my fellow TTs.. Updated on 27 May 2013: It's my birthday and I am feeling good. Took mini shower, new binder, new gauze, fresh clothes. I feel good. Able to walk around with little hunch. No pain medication but it hurts so bad when I cough. Also finally got a look. I am very happy. Scar looks good. Belly button looks good. Lots of bruising from the lipo so I am starting the Arnica. I've posted some pics. Updated on 28 May 2013: Today I have discovered swell and now know what others have referred to. To start, I slept well. No pain, just discomfort. Walking pretty good. Actually did a load a laundry. Not draining much so I hope to get my drains out when I see my PS on Thursday. Well I noticed as this day goes on, I feel uncomfortable. When I get up I feel the swelling and can see it too. I look bloated. A couple of things to note. I haven't taken my turmeric today, nor my bromelain. Haven't drank much water either. So I am going to make sure I stay on top of these. Let's see if it makes a difference. Don't like this swell feeling. Turmeric down the throat it is. Updated on 30 May 2013: Good Morning, just left the PS. My first visit since the TT. He was happy with the progress of my draining and decided to remove them. He first numbed me and am I so glad cause that area was the one place where I would get an ache. Once numb, they came straight out. I was surprised at how long they were We discussed my swelling on the right side. It is where I feel the most discomfort. He wasn't concerned and explained in time it should go down. He showed me my before pics that the right side was larger and had more of a hang. He was glad with my progress and sent me on my way with my next visit in 4 weeks. In the meantime, I continue to wear my binder, lotion my scar and don't overdo it. Listen to my body. As for how I am feeling, I am walking around the house. Not doing anything much. Get tired and sit and rest. It is supposed to be above 90 for the next couple of days so I plan to stay in the house. Updated on 22 Jun 2013: Hello Ladies, it has been awhile since I last posted, but I have been keeping up with all of you. Well let me catch you up. I have been quite busy, flew to Ohio, post op Day 16. Last week back to work 100% and had to travel to NY. Been doing pretty well, but am pooped by the end of the day. Here is the down side. SWELL SWELL and more SWELL and I am hoping it is really SWELL. After surgery I was nice and flat. After the drains got pulled, I started leaking from my incision and my stomach looking like I am 3 months pregnant. Saw the doctor and he tried twice to aspirate fluid (to ensure I didn't have an serona) but nothing came out.. Dry as a desert.. So that is good news, but I still look like I am 3 months pregnant. I am not liking this. I am scheduled for Myrtle Beach next week, so looking for some down time on the beach, but if my stomach doesn't go down for at least a couple of hours, back to the PS I am heading. Besides that I have been doing really well. Active and about with little issue. I will try to post some pics soon so you can see for yourself the swelling.. Take care Ladies.. and I wish you a successful rode to recovery... Updated on 4 Jul 2013: Hello Ladies and Happy 4th. Today I woke up feeling almost like my old self of course without that old stomach. I realized tomorrow it will be 6 weeks and I have read 6 weeks is the turning point. Also for the first time in a long time my stomach didn't feel as swollen. It is still extended but I think it is coming into its own. Still drinking the water, still taking the turmeric and still wearing my binder or some sort of compression. Well enjoy the holiday and keep in touch.
From your pictures you seem to be a great facelift candidate. From not having an in-person consultation to test skin elasticity, it seems that liposuction of the area alone would cause laxity and hanging especially in the long term, so I would not suggest liposuction alone. A facelift will tighten the skin and give your jawline a more contoured look. Please always seek the advice of a board certified plastic surgeon and one who you feel comfortable with their expertise in facial rejuvenation procedures. All the best.
It's really kind of a myth that certain exercises will make you lose weight in certain areas. You can build your muscles for added contouring but fat loss is a different story. As we lose weight it is all over, however, every body stores fat in some areas more than others. After a tummy tuck you will not need to do abdominal crunches because your muscles were tightened. I'd suggest finding an exercise that makes you excited to go and do it because that's the one that you will stick with. Try to get a balance of a routine that keeps your muscles toned and gives you the cardio you need. All the best.
I would suggest to go to the surgeon who preformed your tummy tuck and tell them that you wish to have a belly button revision. They usually do not charge full price for revisions and the surgeon will be familiar with your complications and needs. I hope this helps. All the best.
Unfortunately if you only preform liposuction to remove a significant amount of fat, then you will be left with skin laxity and uneven appearance. Before any procedures, make sure you are stable at the weight you want to stay at because weight gain or weight loss after surgery will affect your results. All the best.
Yes, you seem to be a good tummy tuck candidate, during the procedure you will have a tightening of the abdominal muscles that were stretched by pregnancy. However, it's best to check with your board certified plastic surgeon to see if you have any GI issues causing any additional distension. They will be able to give you a realistic expectation upon examination. All the best.
