I came to Dr. Romita because I was interested in learning how "liposculpture" could help me with removing unwanted, stubborn fat from my lower abdomen and thighs that I was having a hard time getting rid of despite eating healthy and working out. During my initial consult, Dr. Romita was kind, warm and friendly. He spent a great deal of time educating me on the liposuction process and when we went to the exam room to take "before" photos he was nothing but professional, checking-in and making sure I felt comfortable the entire time. After the exam Dr. Romita uploaded my photos to his computer and showed me what my potential results would be post-procedure on a special simulation software. Following my consultation, I booked an appointment and was provided with all the paperwork and instructions for how to prepare ahead of time by Dr. Romita's kind and caring office staff. When the day of my surgery came I was a bit nervous since I had never been under anesthesia before, but as soon as I showed up to the office Dr. Romita and his nurse and staff were wonderfully reassuring to me and helped me to feel safe and comfortable all the way up until the moment I went under the anesthetic. When I woke up, I was given warm blankets and water and felt very little pain. I was prescribed some mild pain medication and my recovery period lasted only a few days. Although I had bruising and swelling (which is typical post-surgery) I was back on my feet and feeling almost back to normal within the first week! It's now a little more than two-months post surgery and I'm so happy and pleased with the results! I feel more confident in my body than I ever have and can't wait to show off my results in a bikini this summer. I can't express how grateful I am to Dr. Romita and his entire team for making the whole experience and process such a positive experience!
Thigh and Arm Reduction I am writing today to share my experiences about the extraordinary care I received from Dr. Mauro Romita and his staff. He is master surgeon and I am completely satisfied with my results! Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Romita to any of my friends or family members. From the moment I entered his office, my experience with Dr. Romita was excellent. He listened to my concerns and validated them. My surgery was in August, 2016. I was physically and emotionally uncomfortable with the skin hanging from my arms and thighs after a dramatic weight loss of 40 pounds. (This weight loss was achieved through diet and exercise not bariatric surgery.) Having done research prior to my first visit with Dr. Romita, I was not convinced that an arm and thigh “lift” would fix my problem. Dr. Romita explained this option thoroughly as well as informing me of another option: arm and thigh “reduction” surgery, where skin is removed from the surgical sites. I chose the arm and thigh reduction and my results are fantastic! When I saw my before and after photos I couldn’t believe I looked that good! My arms and thighs are tighter than they have ever been and they are shaped so beautifully that they look like the arms and thighs of a much younger woman. I am 56 years old and my arms and thighs should be in the Metropolitan Museum of Art! The thigh reduction surgery was a bit more involved than a typical thigh lift, but it was totally worth having. Wound care is needed for a few weeks after the surgery, but I would do it all over again because the results are so dramatic. For most of my life I have hated my thighs (having had liposuction that yielded little results), now I flaunt them in tight jeans, tights and skirts that are shorter than I’ve ever worn. Also, I am now rockin’ sleeveless tops and spaghetti straps because the skin on my upper arms is so tight and lovely rather than hanging and sagging. I enjoy looking at myself in the mirror again, and for that I am forever grateful. Dr. Romita changed my life! After the surgery, I stayed at a lovely nearby rehab center for two days. Dr. Romita visited me every day. He made sure all was done to ensure my comfort and full recovery. His technique and bedside manner were first class. From my initial office visit, through the surgery and follow up care, Dr. Romita has been a caring presence. I felt comfortable and respected from start to finish. He took time to address all of my questions, concerns and options. He explained everything thoroughly: the procedures, the healing process and my results are amazing! I felt safe and in good hands with Dr. Romita and his team. Kate, Kim and Norma are so caring and always available to answer any questions. They are a true pleasure to work with. They could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to my needs. Dr. Romita is an extraordinary, skilled surgeon. His resume speaks for itself and I can give testimony to his abilities. He is a skilled surgeon whose reputation is well known. He also has a wonderful sense of humor, is straightforward and compassionate. I cannot give Dr. Romita and his entire staff a higher recommendation. I am healing beautifully and quickly and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for the best! He is an incredible physician, a gifted plastic surgeon and an incredible human being. My only regret is that I didn’t find him sooner! As for me, one more procedure is on the horizon. I am having Dr. Romita perform my breast augmentation in early 2018. I have no doubt that I will be in the care of a master surgeon and an expert surgical team who represent the highest standards of professionalism, compassion and humor! Nan New York City
Dr. Romita make part of a dream come true. I try all type of diet but never see the result that I have with dr. Romita procedure. From the first appointment I have no doubt that I was in good hands. Dr Romita years of experiences and positive attitude make me feel very confidence about the procedure. I was right, he and his staff follow my recovery from day one. By calling me while I was home to check that I was ok. Always answer my question before and after my surgery. God bless him and all his staff.
I was seeking a natural and not "over-the -top" breast augmentation and I found that with Dr. Romita. He was able to show me before and after pictures of his work which helps when making a decision. He is able to determine exactly what the patient wants and deliver it for them. The surgery was performed in his office facility which was a relaxing atmosphere. He is amazing!
Did my initial consultation with Dr. Romita and he answers all questions. I have never had major surgery before so I am very nervous and anxious at the same time. I had liposculpture of my inner thighs, and abdomen. Very excited and happy with my results. The recovery was pleasant since the office has an operating room and a recovery area as well. Doctor Romita is always accessible and responds to you within 24 hours via call.
I had a tummy tuck done by Dr. Romita and it was a painful but rewarding experience, he is a very professional doctor and the staff helped me with all the questions and concerns I had, my belly is gone and that's what I was looking for, I know I have to loose some weight on my own to finish this transformation. People need to be realistic and the results may vary depending on your body type so before you go for such a big surgery make sure you are prepare mentally and physical Doctors don't make miracles. Good luck to all will post pics soon.
I originally had my procedure on 4/7/15 but had to go back on 4/28/15 because I develop an infection and was retaining fluid. The doctor put a drainage tube on each side of me for about a week and now my vagina is hanging once the tubes came out. I don't feel comfortable like this .. Is this normal? Updated on 15 Sep 2015: I had my procedure done on April 7 , 2015 had some complications ( infection and went back into surgery on 4.28.2015. Since then I have healed from the inside out and developed a scar in which my PS will be correcting on 9.17.2015. I have notice that the top part of my stomach seems big. I feel like I shouldnt be able to inhale and hold my stomach in since i had my tummy tuck. Has anyone else experience this and/or should i be worried. I do know it takes time for the swelling to actually goes down but I am a little concern. Please let me know if there is anything i should be concern about or letting my PS know that he should be doing. Updated on 6 Nov 2015: I previously had some issues with my procedure. Not realizing that it everyone is different and it takes time to heal. Since the last scar correction everything has healed perfectly and I have my flat tummy.. I have always wanted????!! I have to really thank Dr. Romita and staff because they didn't give up in making me satisfied and happy with my new body!! You are the best!!
After having 3 kids in 15 months my body has had its share of stretching and weight gain. When my youngest turned a year old I decided it was time to get a healthier and toner body. I started working out 3-5 days a week and lost over 30 pounds. I did this over about a year. No matter how hard I tried I could not lose the extra belly skin. I was so frustrated with having to wear shorts and pants that were too big everywhere but always tight around my waist. I always dreaded getting dressed, even to put on yoga pants or sweats. "Where would my flap look best? Should I tuck it below my pant button or lift it above?" I hated sitting and having to adjust my pants to hide the pouch. My TT was a great decision. I'm excited to get dressed and can't believe the difference it has made in my self confidence (and its only been 5 weeks)!!! Updated on 17 Jan 2015: Here I am and happy still
I was 22 years old when I decided to get breast implants. I was in grad school and I didn't have a lot of money to afford consultation fees of $150+ like were in NYC at that time. I went to Dr. Romita for a consultation and then out of naiveté I chose him as my doctor. To make a long story short, I got saline implants through the nipple and had a complication. The implant had rotated after surgery (this is what he told me)and the valve where it is filled was poking out the bottom of my breast. Not through the skin or anything, but you could see and feel a distinct bulge… like something was there that wasn't supposed to be. When I went back he stated that I would have to get another surgery and now I could get even better implants, the silicone gels. I remember feeling a pit in my stomach knowing I would have to pay for another surgery when I had just spent all my savings on the first one. I consented to the second surgery and put the cost on my credit card! He told me I should also get a areola size reduction, as well, making me feel like I had some sort of deformity when now I know I simply had large nipples! But being young and naive, I did what the expert said and left with scarring around the entire circumference of both nipples and silicone gel implants. I was happy that the bulge was gone, but now there was an indentation of stemming from up by my arm pit all the way to the bottom of the breast. He couldn't explain what it was, he just said that it would fade away in time. It has improved after ten years, but it is still visible. As I was leaving the office after my last follow up appointment I noticed that his hands were shaking uncontrollably. That's when I realized I had made a big mistake (as if the prior complications weren't enough!). Looking back, I wish I would have went with my gut and spent the money on consultations with other doctors. I joined this site so I could read about women who have removed their implants. I hope to remove them soon. If you have a referral for an explant specialist, please let me know.
I found Dr. Romita, another Park Ave. doctor who assured me that he could fix my deviated septum and long downpointed nose by simply rotating the tip and it would be fully covered under insurance because my septum was still blocking my nostril. At the same time he had another surgeon, Dr. Irachi, repair an umbilical hernia that I had from pregnancy. Not only did the hernia repair not work but my nose was worse than before. So, I guess I got what I paid for! When I went back to complain he is happy to operate again!!!! PM me if you want more info. I liked them both as professional doctors but I would not recommend to do surgery with them.
