Some people respond really well and are happy with one treatment, others want to be even flatter and will need multiple treatments. It is easier to over estimate and tell a patient you dont need the second treatment than it is to under estimate and add more cycles in later. As long as they have experience doing the procedure, any of those treatment plans will work. They should only do a second treatment if you want it or need it. You are a small person so it will be hard to tell before you see the results of the first treatment.

What you have to understand is Botox relaxes the muscles in your face and those muscles are responsible for various facial expressions. From the picture, it looks to me that you need a touchup over your R brow to make it even with your other brow, however, even in your before picture your R brow lifts slightly higher than your left. However, a small touchup will even things out for you. You have the Jack Nicholson look because you need more Botox in the upper forehead. Call you physician and schedule a follow up appointment, its an easy fix. Good luck.

Is this your first Botox treatment for this area? If so, relax...you need to give it more time. Sometimes Botox can take as long as 10-14 days to exhibit its full affect on relaxing your facial muscles. I tell all of my patients 3-7 days before they notice a change. It is possible after 14 days you will still have movement, at which time you will need to have a touch-up to your treatment. The efficacy of the treatment depends on the skill of the injector and if they correct amount of Botox was used. Good luck.

Without knowing all the details of your treatment, the answer to your question is yes they will go down. Swelling is typically at its worst in 24-72 hours post procedure, but can persists for as long as 10 days. The majority of the swelling will resolve in the first few days however. Typically the duck look is due to swelling and will resolve in a week or so. The anesthetic in Juvederm XC only lasts a few hours, so the numbness you feel is likely from the swelling as well. Use ice packs and take it easy and it should get better before you know it. Good luck.

Your question is a great question. Let's talk some basics. Botox amount is usually not discussed in ml rather in units. A typical treatment of 40 units would be (depending on how the physician reconstitutes the Botox) a little less than 1 ml.
I have been injecting Botox for just over ten years and have never had a patient have a reaction to it. That being said, the amount of Botox used for a typical treatment would not put you at risk for a reaction any more than a sub-optimal amount. The physician who injects you should go over the areas of concern in your face, explain how much Botox they recommend to achieve your desired results and then go from there. Good luck.

Sorry to hear your last few treatments didn't seem to work. 60 units is a lot of Botox for the forehead area and it is surprising it would not work. My first thought is did you truly get that many units. Also, sometimes after successful treatments, in some patients, Botox (or any neurotoxin) can lose it's effectiveness, but that is rare. If it didn't take at all, it seems either there was something wrong with the Botox itself (perhaps it was not reconstituted properly) or the technique used was not the same as prior treatments. In our office, if a treatment truly doesn't take as proven with before and after photographs, we will retreat the area for free. You may want to try another physician to see what their results look like. Good luck.

He was precise with location of both my Botox and Juvederm Ultra injections. His technique is gentle and I have never been dissatisfied with his work and I have been going to him for 2+ years now. I have tried other places that were offering special deals on Botox and the results never lasted as long as Dr. Pinto's. Staff is always pleasant, office is clean, and appointments are taken with a couple minutes of scheduled time.
