I had such an amazing experience with Dr. Bonanno and his staff. My Consultation was very informative and I was able to see that Dr. Bonanno is very passionate about his work. I immediately decided to go with him for my tummy tuck. The day of surgery I was such a wreck and when I arrived to the facility I begin to calm down. I was very impressed with the facility it's a nice big building which was very clean and the staff was very nice and professional. I then went into the back to be greeted by the nurses and anesthesiologist who was very informative about the procedure by the time Dr. Bonanno came into the room I was completely ready to go. Dr. Bonanno explained everything again and made sure I was comfortable before we proceeded. This was my first time having a major surgery and Dr. Bonanno and his staff exceeded my expectations. I am planning on having a breast lift next year and I am definitely using him to preform my surgey.
Yes, swelling is an indication of overuse. Your body is going through a healing process adjusting to the implants and forming a capsule around the implants. Excessive activity and not following your post-operative instructions can lead to a late hematoma with early activity and possibly capsular contracture.
Within a three week period I would advise that you avoid all exercise because you want to avoid a late hematoma and you don't want to move the implants around too much. The movements that come from working out could cause a more thickened capsule around the implant which could ultimately lead to a capsular contracture. As previously mentioned by one of my colleagues using a stationary bike or treadmill after two weeks is acceptable as long as the arms are stable so as to avoid excessive movement of the implants as they are settling in. Breast massage exercises are advisable after breast implants.
