I got my breast augmentation on February 1, 2018. I never thought I was the type to be such a worry wort, but I felt like every single week, I was contacting Dr. Shinn and her staff about this, that, or the other. She always made time to see me, and she reassured or guided me every step of the way. At this point, I feel like I’ve formed a very good relationship with her, and I’m very happy she’s been with me through every tear (good and bad) I’ve experienced. She took my concerns seriously, and never made me feel like I was a bother. Her estimation on implant sizes to correct my asymmetry was spot on. Love her staff, they’re amazing as well!

Being 59 years old and 5'1" I was carrying around a set of 36E breasts that hung to my waist. I had lower back pain and walked with a slouching posture . I could not button up shirts in my size nor buy dresses off the rack without having them altered to fit me. It was time to make a decision to have a breast reduction to improve the health and quality of my life.

Dr Shinn performed and Breast lift and reduction. I quite clearly told her I wanted to be a size D cup. She reduced breasts to size B cup. She would do breast implants but it is going to cost $4000 without her fee. She never apologized or said she made a mistake. I will update after implants. Do I need to stay in a hospital overnight for a one and a half hour surgery for BA?

One day after this was posted I requested that RealSelf delete this review and they refused. There was a misunderstanding with the doctor and all issues are being resolved. I would recommend her as a plastic surgeon. I encourage anyone who is going to have Breast Reduction, whoever the surgeon is, to make sure they make their wishes made very clearly and to get the doctor to repeat it out load to make sure there is no miscommunication. I don't think you can over communicate on this surgery issue.

Dr. Shinn made arrangements to perform Breast Implant at no charge. I was very pleased at the outcome. I learned a lesson in communication - it is so important to communicate with the doctor and if something goes wrong talk to the doctor first before registering a complaint on this website.

I breastfed 4 babies so this was my gift to myself. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago.

breast were smaller and fallen. One breast was smaller then other. So I have breast augmentation. Is very painful. I had my under muscle. Now one looks bigger is it still swollen?

I had one breast bigger then the other so i went to have a breast augmentation to even them up and to come up a cup size. But now the breast that was smaller is bigger then the other. Is this ok and will they look symmetrical after a couple of weeks?

So far I've only had the privilege of meeting Dr. Shinn for a consultation. I'm scheduled for breast augmentation the beginning of Feb. I will update my review with before and after pics at that time. I just wanted to leave a review based on the consultation. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shinn and her staff. They were all very friendly and I feel like I'm going to be in very good hands. I have a friend who had Dr Shinn do her breast augmentation and the before and after pics she shared with me are beautiful. I'm getting 435cc, round, moderate profile (i think that's what she called the profile). I am beyond excited and im really looking forward to my surgery. I can't wait to share before and after pics here."

I just had my surgery yesterday morning. So far I'm loving my new boobies. Dr. Shinn and her staff were amazing!!! I haven't seen My boobies bare yet. I'll be changing into my own bra tomorrow, I'll take more pics at that time. I can't stress enough how much I absolutely love Dr. Shinn's personality and bed side manners. She made me feel very safe and comfortable. My mom and son also met her and they said they got very good vibes from her as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Shinn to anyone looking to get a breast augmentation. I was a full C small D cup before. I'll update what size I am once they drop and fluff.

I think they are starting to drop nicely. I do keep my front zip sports bra on at all times (doctors orders). I only take pics when I take it off before I shower. ????

Not a lot of change but I can see some change. I feel like they actually look a little smaller but they are the same size as before. They have a very nice shape and other than wishing I had gone bigger, I'm very happy with the results so far. ????????

I had a little scare because my left breast was dropping slower than the right. It's beginning to drop more and I couldn't be happier! Here are a few 11 week pics. I'll hit 3 months in a few days.

Im loving my new boobies but unfortunately, my left implant has not dropped as much as my right one. Is not a huge difference but it's a difference that I notice and am bothered by. It could still drop a little on it's own but not likely. My dr is retiring next month so if I wait to see, I'll have to pay another dr to lower it. I've decided to just let my dr lower it for me before she retires. I love my right breast and I can't wait for my left to look more like it. Lol I go on for surgery the end of this month. I'll update with pics after surgery. Here are pics for now

So as I mentioned before I had to go back for the Dr to lower my implant because it didn't drop. Well she ended up dropping it and she cut below my natural pocket. She had originally made that incision lower than the other and in order to drop it to the incision she said she had to cut my pocket. It should not have been lowered to incision because the incision was made too low to begin with.Well now I have a double bubble and I hate my boobs!! I don't even want to post a pic because of how bad it looks. I have to wait 6 months for another Dr to fix it now. I'll post pics after they fix it and at that time I'll post pics of what it looks like now. Please steer clear of Dr. Shinn!! Also another thing I did not like is that she acts like it's not even a big deal. She tried telling me it was fine and that it was just the way my boobs are. It's been such an awful experience and no one should have to go through it. :(

Black and white pic is the blotched job by Dr. Shinn done only 6 months ago, yes it bottomed out that much within 6 months. It was actually already that noticable just weeks after the surgery. Color pic is a pic I took today (3 days after a revision surgery) performed by my new surgeon. I am so thankful that I found him! It's only been 3 days so they will even out in time, but they already look so much better. The right one actually has a bigger implant. The left one looks bigger because the skin and muscle was already stretched so it doesn't have as much changing to do as the right. The right one will look just like the left one once the implant drops a bit and my breast tissue stretches out evenly over the implant. I had them moved from under the muscle to over the muscle. I am 100% confident in my new surgeon's abilities though, so I know they will be perfect in no time. :)

For as long as I can remember, acquaintances and loved ones alike have commented on my facial expression. Ive been told I look serious, angry, mad, studious, pained, or sad. I've looked this way for so long, but the aging process has drawn everything further down. Here's what I've tried: 1. Botox and Dysport- full or partial forehead. I've done it since 1998. It used to work, but no matter what I do, I'm not getting results anymore. 2. Makeup- concealer in the recesses of my eyes, highlighter, and so many brow techniques and tools. I can only get the results I want for evening makeup, otherwise, it's too strong, and I look like a clown. I'm screwed during the day. 3. Glasses (I don't need them), bangs, dyeing, and other ways to conceal these brows. 4. Forcing myself to smile all the time-not such a bad thing, but I'd like to relax and still look pleasant! 5. Permanent makeup or tattooing- this was a disaster. The ink faded to a red color. I had to then use concealer to cover it up. I think that's all for now. I'm tired of fighting this. More later.

I got 375cc anatomical shaped, saline implants over the muscle 18 years ago. My implants have always looked small, like I should have gone bigger. There's just too much room on my chest, and not enough breast. I don't have cleavage at all.
When I got my first augmentation, I had a fitness competition coming up, and needed quick recovery. Placing the implants over the muscle allowed the quickest recovery.
Since then, age and a baby have made them droopy. I'm planning on getting 400-450cc round silicone with low projection, along with a lift. I'm going larger because the size shows less when placed under the muscle. I'm 5'7", 140, muscular, 12% body fat and wear a 38C. I've never been one to show off my chest, but I do want fullness up top. Also, I'm getting the smooth, rather than textured, implants. My surgeon says the smooth cause fewer ripples. My saline implants are completely rippled up and down each side of my breasts, and I hate that. Saline looks more ripply anyway, but in 1998, you could only get saline.
