QUESTIONS ANSWERED

I have significant tooth resorption that is apparently genetic. I started Invisalign a few days ago. Any suggestions? (photo)

If you can take close-up photos of your smile (teeth closed) and two pics of your back teeth (teeth closed), i would be able to answer your question.

Should I transfer from a dentist to an orthodontist or give up on correcting my teeth? I have my box of all 25 trays (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Even with Clear Aligners, one can get good maxillary expansion to create enough space for the severe crowding you have. This requires moving the premolars and first molars (the second molars will fall into place after treatment is completed most times).  Sometimes, if this is not enough space after expansion, one can do Interproximal Reduction (usually between the canine and first premolar).  There are very few cases I cannot do with Clear Aligners.

Missing molars, short front teeth due to grinding, wrong bite. Health problem with my bite and aesthetic problem as well.(photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Your case is very complex.  I recommend a consult with a dentist who regularly restores implants.  If your existing teeth are maloccluded, then Ortho treatment should be performed prior to implant placement.  If there are nonrestorable teeth, they need to be removed as a first phase.

Upper arch expansion with Invisalign?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
I get some pretty good expansion to achieve idealized arch form using clear aligners.  Ultimately, a removable sagittal appliance can be made to expand the arch.  I like trying the Clear Aligner first.

Which is the best before Invisalign, bridge or implant the extracted teeth?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Do the Orthodontics first. The retainers will maintain the spaces.  THEN, replace the missing teeth, preferably with implants. Once the implants are done, then new retainers can be made--the old ones won't fit.

Does the age of the patient impact the number of trays and speed of moving teeth?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Both are considered adults; so both will require retention for life. The number aligners would be the same, assuming identical malocclusions.

Do SmileCareClub aligners also whiten teeth?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Your clear aligners can double as whitening trays.  All you need to do is add whitening gel inside your aligners. The whitening material is not embedded in the tray.

Why can't a person use SmileDirectClub if they have dental implants?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Implants do not move when subjected to orthodontic forces--clear aligners or otherwise. So, one has to treatment plan around the implant--if at all possible.

How do you attach and remove SmileCareClub?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
No buttons or attachments are needed if doing SmileCareClub clear aligner treatment. In my experience, I have found no need, even in my practice.

Am I a candidate for SmileCareClub? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
I see a number of these cases.  The majority of the time there is spacing because of the size discrepancy of the teeth (ie, they are too small for the given space).  Using Clear Aligner treatment, I will position the teeth where they belong.  Then, I will refer to a general dentist who is adept at placing veneers or cosmetic bonding.  This treatment will restore the small teeth to their proper size and shape.
