My family and I have been long-time patients. Having had many various types of procedures, necessary and cosmetic. Dr. Skelsey and her team are top notch professionals, and are very helpful and friendly.
I have complete confidence in Dr. Skelsey. My first experience with her was Mohs surgery for skin cancer. She was very attentive to the cosmetic aspects of the operation so I consulted with her regarding cosmetic surgery. She is is very knowledgeable about the latest treatments. I have had Botox and filler injections, and more recently, kybella to tighten droopy neck skin and microneedling to remove fine lines. She has prescribed vitamins and pharmaceuticals to prevent skin cancer, treat my rosacea, and generally improve my appearance. I think Dr. Skelsey is terrific and recommend her highly.
Dr. Skelsey is both very skilled and compassionate. I've see significant improvement in my skin after two treatments. In particular, scars are much less visible and the overall appearance of my skin is much improved.
Dr. Skelsey is a wonderful, caring doctor. She removed a melanoma several years ago with great success and very minimal scarring. After such a serious issue, I decided to consult her for something fun. I recently completed a microneedling series along with filler and botox. I look wonderful. She is a terrific doctor and I highly recommend her.
I have been a happy patient of Dr. Skelsey's for over 7 years. She has performed multiple cosmetic treatments on my face, including Botox, Restylane, Fraxel, and microneedling. I trust her judgement and expertise, and am always pleased with my results! She has helped me look rejuvenated but not overdone. She has even removed an unslightly mole for me and the scar is almost non-existent. Dr. Skelsey and her staff are approachable, caring, hardworking and attentive to details. I highly recommend her to all my friends and family.
Fantastic! I am so grateful to Dr Skelsey.I was referred to her because she is a skin cancer expert. She took care of my melanoma. So gentle, almost no pain and invisible scar. I asked her to make me look a little younger and get rid of my brown spots. and I can’t believe the results. My skin is so smooth! I went back to Europe and my family couldn’t believe how good I look. They all want to come here and be treated by Dr. Skelsey. She is extremely professional
A series of salacylic acid peels containing retinoids will be very helpful for the tone, and blackheads.
I recommend having a dermatologist evaluate this mole, but you should gain some reassurance from the knowledge that melanoma is rare in pre-pubertal children and even benign moles change to some degree in children as they grow.
There are a variety of non-invasive treatments for small basal cell skin cancers. Options include topical imiquimod, photodynamic therapy and electrodesiccation and curettage. If the cancer is close to your eye and nose, however, Mohs surgery may be the standard of care and the best treatment because it provides the highest cure rate (99%) and spares the normal tissue. In general, patients who undergo Mohs surgery and immediate reconstruction will have their sutures removed in one week. Needing to wear an eye patch for a month would be very unusual. I would recommend discussing the post-operative course with an experience Mohs surgeon
Mole removal on the initial visit depends on the depth and type of the mole. Some moles that are raised can be easily removed during the first appointment.
It is very common to experience bruising and mild tenderness after Restylane. For patients who tend to bruise easily, I recommend Arnica tablets and avoiding blood thinners, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E and alcohol (the day before as well as the day you have fillers). The bruising can last a week and may be covered with make-up. If you continue to have pain or any increase in pain, I recommend you follow-up with your doctor.
