I’ve always had large breast but after breast-feeding and gravity, they not only were not aesthetically pleasing but also rubbed and chafed against my skin. There are a large enough so the doctor agreed that a Lift alone would give me exactly what I was looking for! Updated on 5 Jul 2019: Holy cow I was so nervous but everyone was wonderful! Woke up post op and was in some legit pain, but nothing unmanageable with meds. I am super swollen and things look a little funky, but I can’t wait to see once swelling goes down. My whole body is kind of bloated and having some trouble peeing from the meds but its only day 1. Lots of meds, water, sleep and gentle cuddles from my 4 yr old today. Sleeping in a recliner is making me kind of sore but feels better than fully reclined in bed! Updated on 5 Jul 2019: My wonderful doctor has been checking in over the holiday and gave me the okay to remove the compression bandage because it was making my breathing a bit constricted due to swelling. At my 1 week appt I will learn more about what bras to wear and how to take care of my scars, but for now it feels amazing going bra less. Pretty sure I haven’t done that since I was 11! Still using the pain meds periodically but less frequent and noticing a significant improvement with pain today. Icing is amazing (when you run out of sandwich bags to put ice in, frozen broccoli to the rescue!) and took a shower by myself that made me feel human again. Updated on 11 Jul 2019: The girls are starting to slowly round out a little bit which I first noticed today- at my one week postop appointment my doctor said that the full Ness at the sides would slowly round out the bottom as my stitches and scar is softened and swelling went down. I had a heckuva time days four and five as I was uncomfortable and felt like I slept the whole day away which was really stressing me out considering I went back to work on day eight. But day six seemed to be the turning point when I got my energy back and was able to go about fairly normally! I went back to work today and felt great! My doctor definitely seems like she does things a little different- she had me and no bra for the first week and now only as needed for comfort and support. But she has great results and I trust her so I am going to follow her directions to a T! The Steri-Strips are still in place and feeling kind of itchy, but I am glad that I am healing underneath there. I Might be one of the only people that is actually looking forward things dropping a little bit, right now I feel like my boobs are up in my throat and I am welcoming a little more natural look! Updated on 16 Jul 2019: I am 13 days postop and this weekend the Steri-Strips all fell off which per my doctor is no big deal. However, since they came off I have been having an itchy red rash all the way from around my incisions to down my torso. I have been pretty miserable- I never thought itching could make me so unhappy! Finally I couldn’t take it anymore after four days and my doctor prescribed me a Medrol dose pack so I’m hoping that will help! It’s hard to get excited about the changes I’ve been seeing when I kind of just want to scratch my boobs off right now. Hoping for relief soon!
I had extra tissue removed from my breast area, along my armpit area (basically extra boobs!). She removed the tissue and did a brilliant job with the stitches so that it has healed very well. Other doctors have commented on how nice the scar looks due to her skill. Dr. Moghaddam was the absolute nicest and most talented surgeon I could have picked. I highly recommend her.
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Moghaddam! She always answered my questions perfectly and made me feel comfortable about them. She was there for me before and after my surgery, anytime! My healing process was better then I expected and my results are amazing and I do highly recommend her to everyone!
Dr. Moghaddam made me feel very comfortable from the moment I met her. She is honest and know's exactly what she is talking about. Trusting your surgeon is very important and I couldn't have been placed in better hands. She explained every step of the way, made sure I was aware and used her skills to give me an amazing end result. The overall surgery went smoothly and recovery was fast & painless. Highly recommend her.
Sometimes healing from a surgical procedure can be as tedious as "watching the paint dry". It is not uncommon to have mild asymmetry after a unilateral breast procedure or a procedure where more "work" was done on one side. Be patient and try not to pass judgement on your result for six months after surgery, because it can take that long (and sometimes longer) for the human body to heal and for asymmetries to even out. In the meantime, keep the line of communication with your plastic surgeon open and if it doesn't look right after six months, return to see him/her to discuss your concerns and your options.
Yes, it is possible to do an abdominoplasty (full tummy tuck) without using drains. There are different ways of doing this procedure and some of these techniques do not make use of drains. Please consider visiting with at least two to three board certified plastic surgeons in your area to get a better understanding of the different procedures available to you and whether you would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck without drains.
I recommend you ask your plastic surgeon as he/she will have their preferences. In my practice, I would ask you to refrain from using a sauna, steam room, bath, hot tub, pool, ocean or lake for three weeks after a breast augmentation with fat transfer. I wish you the best with your upcoming procedure!
Fat transfer, whether to the breast or to other areas, is dependent on the quality of the graft, the area to be grafted and the skill of the surgeon doing the grafting. In my practice, BMI does not determine whether you are a good candidate for fat transfer to the breasts. Your overall health, your understanding of the procedure and your compliance with pre and postoperative instructions are more likely to predict a successful outcome. I encourage you to visit with at least three board certified plastic surgeons who have ample experience with the procedure you seek (breast augmentation with fat transfer). Write down your questions before meeting with them and ask to see their before and after photos. I wish you the best in your search!
Thank you for your question and for the photos provided. I would recommend first a breast lift and then considering fat transfer to the breasts as a separate procedure for added volume and cleavage (if needed). It is quite possible the breast lift alone will restore the breast shape and "fullness" you desire. I encourage you to visit with two to three board certified plastic surgeons in your area to discuss your options and review before and after photographs.
