I used to have Sculptra and filler done by Dr Cogburn before I moved away to California and since have been to “diamond status” injectors in Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara, CA. I must say that Dr. Cogburn is by far one of the top injectors in the country. His artistry, discernment, knowledge and integrity by far exceed any injectors I have ever come across. I commend Dr Cogburn for his hard work, generosity and helping people look and feel more confident in their skin.
I'm 63, with a thin face and a some sag and lines around the mouth and lower face. From the very first time I saw Dr David Cogburn in Asheville, NC, he recommended Sculptra for my face. Having read about the potential side effects, I resisted the suggestion and went the Voluma and Radiesse route instead, pleased with the results. Did this a couple of times, and when it was time, for more, I returned to Dr Cogburn, but he did not want to put more of those fillers in, given my facial issues and again suggested Sculptra. At this point, I said, "let's go for it." My preference was to take a conservative approach (one vial at a time) so I had my first round Jan 26 2016, (around $800 with a coupon it might have been $25 less) and the 2nd one March 31, 2016 (1 vial, $800 but using a coupon, came to about $760). Hoping for the next (and final) round in June early (if I can even get in to see this busy Doc.) The only negative side effects for me was the severe bruising following the injections, regardless of all the preventative steps taken beforehand, during and after: arnica (oral and topical,) bromelian, Ocumend, Chlorella, lots of Vit C, etc.) I will say that the bruising lasted exactly a week, and as severe as it was, (keeping me in the house,) it resolved quickly. Since you have to massage the face 3 - 5 times a day for 5 mins, you only aggravate the bruised area's and there really isn't much you can do to avoid them. The only lingering issue is some faint discoloration where the bruising was most severe, (sides of the chin) that I know will take months to dissipate. On the positive side, the changes have been subtle, but I am already seeing a reduction in the lines around my mouth, and some slight plumping up in my face. Even the boyfriend mentioned he sees the changes. It's exciting to know the improvement will keep coming. I really like Dr Cogburn and his staff. I write this reluctantly because of my concern that it will be even harder to get in to see him. He teaches other doc's how to inject Sculptra so I know he is very skilled at doing this procedure. Will update and possibly post pictures later.
Good Morning .. I looked at your photo and you definitely have inflammation involving your upper and lower lids.It appears to me to be an irritant dermatitis and there are many good treatments for the lids. Unfortunately , I think you need to see a Dermatologist or Opthalmologist for the medications. Based upon your photo, a topical steroid and possibly an antibiotic like Dixycycline would quickly remedy your problem. Your eyes are a great feature on your face. Good Lucj !
First , I am sorry that you have issues with Voluma. Your problems are unusual but certainly may happen.Voluma is a great choice for the chin because of it's ability to add volume and shape .i would suggest that you go back to the injector who performed your procedure. Please bring photos of yourself and explain that you are disappointed . You may need an antibiotic , steroids or both .Pain this far out is very unusual and requires attention. The injector should not charge you . Good Luck.
Good afternoon, concerning the swelling after having Juvederm placed in your lips , this is really notthat uncommon. Juvederm as well as the other HA fillers are somewhat hydrophilic. That means they attract water. So long as the lip shape looks good just give it a few days and it should look fine.
