Depending on your skin type ( how much pigment your skin had ) IPL / Photofacial could be an option for you . Most IPL devices safely treat skin types 1-4 , if you are a darker skin type 4-6 , IPL may not be a good choice for you .
If you have hyperpigmentation from acne scarring on your cheeks a medical grade lightening cream , an prescription hydroquinone, or even MicroNeedling w/ a lightening serum are all options for Indian skin . Microdermabrasion & HydraFacial are both good however long term will not lighten the scarring like a more aggressive treatment plan & topicals .I hope that helps

Good question! Generally we have patients wait approximately 1 week between treatments , to let the skin heal . However if you are over 55 or have thin skin , or any skin healing disorders it is best to wait more that 1 week to have a HF treatment after a MicroNeedling service.

You could complete both treatments , HF & MN @ the same appointment time. However for the optimum results I would recommend doing the PRP MicroNeedling 1st , then follow up with a relaxing calming HydraFacial about 7-10 days post PRP . This will also allow the HF to remove any dead skin that can slough off after the PRP treatment.

I agree w/ the other providers . IPL is a wonderful treatment for brown spots , underlying redness, broken capillaries , however can be risky on darker skin types & should NEVER be done on recently tanned skin . That being said if you’ve had 4 tx’s already & not  achieving the desired results .... I would not proceeded w/ the next 2 . With the skin color & tone a Fraxell / or Fractionated laser may be more safe , especially when icing post treatment. It’s really important to cool the skin after theses treatments are performed . You may also want to consider a Microneedling treatment(s) with a lightening serum infused into the skin & follow any & all of these tx’s w/ a lightening serum or cream .  Be sure to wear a physical block , broad spectrum sfp as well , to ensure the spots that remain do not get any darker . Take care , I hope this helps.

A series of MicroNeedling treatments would be of great benefit to the scar under the brow. If you added  PRP to the treatment it would greatly enhance it as well . Another option  could be performing a nano fractionated laser , we have Venus Versa ... it uses RF technology along with ‘nano’ fine pins to stimulate fibroblast cells & rebuild collagen.  Your last option could be adding a very small amount of filler to the scar.

How long to wait to see results from IPL?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Generally IPL off the face on the body takes a bit longer to heal & for those skin cells to turn over. At approximately 2-3 weeks time your upper arms will be healed & your results will be revealed. Most hyperpigmentation lesions take multiple IPL treatments & are completed in a series.... So in your case, I would return to the clinic for a follow up & speak to the laser tech about your results & devise a treatment plan accordingly.

Typically, to obtain the best longterm outcomes, we do recommend maintenance treatments with PRP. After the initial series of treatments, which we offer about a month apart, we then recommend quarterly or half yearly maintenance treatments.

PRP contains your own concentrated platelets with growth factors and cytokines that serve to stimulate the process of collagen synthesis by fibroblast cells. By injecting PRP into lax skin and increasing collagen production, the skins texture and tone can be remarkably improved. However, PRP alone will not completely tighten very saggy skin. That said, it can significantly lessen the appearance of wrinkles and "crepey skin" when used properly. Do not worry, though, PRP will not lead to worsened sagging of skin if you stop receiving treatments......but you may find that your wrinkles reappear and your skin tone becomes similar to your pre-treatment tone over time.
