In October 2011, I had the evolastin procedure performed by Dr. Lori Brightman at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center New York. I am extremely pleased with my result. My skin looks smooth and tighter. Dr. Brightman performed the procdure at the center and I was able to take a bus back to my apartment within the hour. I had very little down time and resumed my normal activities within a day. I had mild bruising which could be covered up with make-up. 6 months after the procedure my face has never looked better. I would highly recommend this procedure.
Didn't like the "softening" look of my jawline and was interested in hearing about solutions to tighten. Dr. Brightman outlined the efficacy of this new combination laser - e2. Dr. Brightman is on the frontlines of the research related to the laser and ultimately has true knowledge regarding the quality of the results. Updated on 15 Mar 2012: Dr. Brightman used the e2 on one side of my jawline and we looked in the mirror (one side done the other not) and there was a noticeable tightening effect, less "jowly". One other immediate benefit is that the procedure is painless, no need for numbing cream and no down-time whatsoever. So you have a combination of a tightening and resurfacing laser (together or separately) which takes very little time at all. I had a few abrasions on one side of my face, but they were minor. Dr. Brightman asked me to come in so that she could see what they looked like but I didn't have the time unfortunately. Though, in fairness, if I thought the abrasions were bad I would have RUN to the Dr. I was advised to make sure I was wearing sunscreen, which I did, and the little scratch-like abrasions were gone in a week or so. I like the procedure, I'd like to try it again now that I know what I'm looking for in terms of results, and I'm always impressed with Dr. Brightman's solution-oriented expertise. It's actually very exciting to be in the company of a derma like Dr. Brightman who really is in the thick of testing and researching the newest and best (in this case) laser treatments.
I tried Fraxel duel three times and saw very little results, very disappointing. I then tried Fraxel resurfacing and was surprised to see some significant results. Its not a miracle worker but I did see atleast a 30% improvment in my deep acne scarring. Its been a month and I still have visible redness from the procedure.
I did it because my face was starting to look a little tired and gaunt. The results last for quite a bit of time, and my face looks better than it did when I was 22!
I wanted to look "refreshed".
To achieve youthful vibrant appearance
There are really no cons to this procedure. I lost inches and had absolutely no down time. I did it beacuse i work out regularly and could not get rid of the stubborn fat on my abdomen no matter how well i ate or how many situps i did.
I've always had a flabby midsection (lost 50 pounds years ago and could never 'tighten up'). The Ziltiq procedure (3 hours) took inches off my midsection. Going back for a second treatment in a few weeks. It was a little painful (at first) but otherwise an amazing experience.
I had belly fat (muffin top) that peeked out above my jeans. This tackled the excess fat that I couldn't lose, no matter how hard I exercised or dieted, so it was worth doing. I had 5 applications done in the same day. 3 apps to my belly area and 1 on each flank (love handle area). Amazing results to ab area after about 3 months. I went back for two additonal applications to the belly area. Very pleased with the results thus far. Updated on Oct 28, 2010: I had my second application to the stomach area and I'm seeing nice results. All of my friends have noticed and told me that I look smaller. It's working!!!!!!Updated on 3 Aug 2011:I had Zeltiq done three times. each about a year apart. I am a fairly active person, have had two pregnancies and wanted to lose both the muffin top and the lower bulk below the navel. The first time I had four applications: above the navel, below the navel, and my love handles. Approximately 3 months later, the results were fabulous! My pants were looser and I could visibly see the difference. The second time I went for Zeltiq, I had the applications done to the upper and lower abdomen. The second time, I saw results in 3 months, looking less bulky. My most recent application was done across the midsection with the new large applicator. I am really looking forward to the results this time around. I don't have any reason to believe I will need any more applications after this time.
I first heard about Zeltiq a year ago through Dr. Trevor Born, a prominent plastic surgeon and friend from Toronto. Dr. Born doesn't make recommendations often and he was enthusiastic about this new device. To be honest it sounded like science fiction...I asked myself could freezing fat actually work or was it another one of the many cosmetic procedures that over promise and under deliver. I decided to try it but couldn't make the trip to Toronto so Trevor suggested I get it done in New York. I did some research and found Dr. B who has been doing clinical trials on Zeltiq for a few years. Dr. B was wonderful...extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the device and its results. The before and after pics she showed me were equally impressive so I booked an appointment. The procedure itself was painless (albeit long!), had zero downtime and no scarring or bruising. I had my lower abs and love handles done. The results have been great! After about 2 weeks I started noticing the areas treated visibly shrinking... Now after 2 months my love handles are so much less pronounces and my lower abs look great! I'm going in for a second round of zeltiq in a months time as that enhances the results! In short Zeltiq is a great non invasive alternative to lipo that actually works!!!!
Using lasers on darker skins has always been a question. We do know darker skin types can experience a greater chance of experiencing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening). Ematrix is not actually a laser, it is radiofrequency. Radiofrequency is an energy that does not effect the pigment making cells in your skin which is why it is safer in darker skin types. It is still important however to be sure you are treated by a practitioner skilled with laser and energy based treatments and protect your skin from UV light after treatment. Even though the risk is small, it is still present that one can experience irregular pigmentation after any energy based treatment. Be sure to use lots of SPF
During clinical trials prior to release publicly of the coolsculpting device, there were trials examining the serum triglyceride levels which did not show any change. A healthy diet and exercise are your best benefits in maintaining a good cholesterol panel
The coolsculpting handpiece does rely on the degree of skin "available" or what is able to be suctioned in order to treat the ideal area. Depending on your particular body type and which body area you are treating, if your arms or legs extended do pull the area, that can lessen what is available to suction into the handpiece. This is why it is ideal to be treated by a physician with a great deal of experience with the treatment as they will have appreciated these fine details
Pulse dye laser is most frequently used for helping to reduce redness whether that is on the face from broken blood vessels or perhaps in a scar. The cost is usually based on what is being treated, how large of an area is being treated and who is performing the procedure. It is always best to be evaluated by your dermatologist first, to be sure of the diagnosis prior to any laser treatment. The range can be anywhere from $ 200 and higher, again depending on the circumstances
Yes, Evolastin is the now new branded name for the treatment with the Eprime device. This is bipolar radiofrequency microneedles that produce skin tightening and uniquely volume. There have been several clinical trials improving the treatment and it now has a very high satisfaction rate.
