I received a 3000 graft hair transplant from Dr Pappaterra in Nov 2022. It has been one year post transplant that I am writing this review. Before choosing Dr Pappaterra, I had consulted with 2 very prominent hair transplant doctors in the Miami area. I then consulted via video call with Dr Pappaterra. My first impression of Dr P was that she genuinely cared about wanting to take care of my hair, whereas the doctors that I consulted with here in the US were not that interested. Of course, the procedure was 3 times more expensive here in the US compared to in the DR. After choosing to get the surgery done with Dr P, the process was super simple. I had to get various blood tests and an EKG here in the US. These are to make sure that the surgery will not be complicated with clotting issues, or cardiac issues. I arrived on a Monday, relaxed at the hotel (which was 1 km away from here office). My surgery was on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then I flew back to the US on Thursday. I was back to work on Friday. While arriving at the office, Dr P talked with me about how and where I wanted most of the grafts placed. I mentioned that i wanted a slightly lower hairline, in lieu of covering all of the vertex area. The most difficult part of the whole experience is the sleeping upright for about a week to not molest the implanted grafts. There was absolutely no pain ever in the whole process. As far as the results go, I am super happy. My frontal hairline looks super great. I chose not to get a lot of work down on my vertex since I wanted a lower hairline. For my vertex, I apply hair powder to help conceal that area. I have spoken to several medical doctors (most of whom are my friends), and they all say that i got a very good result. All in all, I am very happy that i got my hair done with her. Her staff are very nice as well. Once again, very caring and involved in the whole process.
Great experience I flew there, the city santiago de los caballeros is beautiful, great food, regarding my hair transplant was super smooth, totally painless, the doctor understood all my concerns, explained with details the surgery, her staff and facilities are top of the world, the recovery was fast, i believe I waited so much time to have my Hair transplant done because I needed to feel that I could trust the doctor that was going to fix my balding finally, thank you so much Dra Lisset
I am a surgeon myself. My wife is Dominican. She recommended Dr. Pappaterra for a hair transplant. I researched and followed Dr Pappaterra for one year prior to making the decision. Once I made up my mind, I traveled from New York City to Santiago for an FUE transplant. I was happily surprised with what I found. First, the office is in a beautiful area of Santiago. The office was pristine. Dr Pappaterra was very professional and courteous. She took the time to explain every detail of the procedure and answered all of my questions. Her personnel was also very professional. As a surgeon I could tell they followed every single safety protocol (including COVID prevention). Since the procedure is long (mine took two full days), they even bought me food both days. At the end of the first session they gave me a bag with all my medications and instructions. And at the end of both days they called me an Uber to take me back to my hotel. Then they followed up on me to make sure I was healing appropriately. The quality of her work was simply excellent. I’m healing very well with minimal inflammation. Dr Pappaterra is a great physician. I highly recommend her.
The surgery was amazing, from the nurses who got me ready before the surgery to Dr.Pappaterra herself, the surgery was painless, their hospitality was also amazing, and honestly I would recommend this place to whoever wants to get a hair transplant
Started minox 5% on beard twice a day for about 5 days. Noticed hair shedding in shower and immediately stopped use. It’s been about 2 months since I have stopped; I only notice hair shed in the shower. 22 year old male, with no history of mpb. Wondering if I can expect a full return to my baseline hair state. Or did I just ruin my hair forever. Minoxidil, sometimes causes shedding, on the hair, but it depends on the hair cycle growth, so defenetly you havent ruin your hair. Its just the normal shedding corresponding of your hair cycle. Hope it helps.
its a great treatment when indicated. The doctor determines what type of hair loss you have, and the decide the treatment if oral or topical. Oral is more effective but has more sideeffects.
Glycolic acid is great for dandruff, when indicated the right way. Its always better to use the formulations of shampoo with ac. gycolic, remember no to use the one for facial. That way youll have good results.
Hello. There's no study done about absortion of minoxidil on a diferent target than the one using it. So No, theres no absortion on a second person.
Hello Dear, you should definitely go to a dermatologist consultation, or hair specialist. There are different types of Alopecia, and probably you're going through different at the same time, you should have some blood test done, do a tricoscopy of your hair and other things. Don't let time pass by. Do something about it sooner, rather than later.
