After having Microneedling done it is best to use very gentle and hydrating products. Immediately after you do not want to use irritating products like retin-A or any acids like glycolic acid or salicylic acid. First, a medical evaluation may be needed to see if you have some type of hormone imbalance which is causing you to have this unwanted hair growth. If so, this underlying cause needs to be addressed. Then, you need to look at having the hair removal. Laser hair removal with a laser that is safe for skin of color can help. With shaving and plucking, the hairs that grow back in can become ingrown hairs-leading to inflammation and hyperpigmentation. Then after this, you can look at procedures like Microneedling or injections with PRP to help with the acne scars. Chemical peels can help with acne and hyperpigmentation but typically are not the best to address acne scars.

Treatment for facial aging typically requires a combination of procedures. Each procedure has it's place. Botox is great for movements with expression such as the elevens between the brows and forehead lines. Fillers are great for restoring volume and filling deeper folds. Microneedling with PRP is a wonderful procedure. We see an improvement in crepey skin, fine lines and wrinkles and overall tone and texture. It is safe for darker skin types. However, because post procedure inflammation can result in hyperpigmentation, it is best to not have an overly aggressive treatment. Also, preparing the skin prior to the procedure is of benefit. Going into the procedure with hydrated and healthy skin will improve the recovery time and the results.

There is a tug of war between all of these muscles regarding brow and forehead position. The injections between the brows soften the elevens but also can impact the forehead because of spread of the Botox. Treating the forehead lines can be tricky because these muscles elevate the brows. If a dosage that is too high is given or if the injections are close to the brows, droopy brows can results. If you have strong and active muscles between your brows, they probably should be treated as well as the muscles in your forehead.

Over the years I have suffered from TMJ and grinding teeth. My condition had gotten so bad that I chipped a tooth and my night guard had major we're from the grinding. My face was so tight and hurt all I could do was fixate on it all day long. In dealing with TMJ Botox injections it is best to start off with a small amount and then inject more as needed, as opposed to injecting too much at once. Thus, the cost may vary, but it is well worth it. I received major relief from the injections. I highly recommend Dr Kelley. It was by chance that I found her office, but since then, I travel over an hour for her office procedures. She is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner.
