Hello,
With proper applicator placement, most people do get about a 25% fat reduction in the area treated. There are a few possibilities here:
1. The area treated was had mostly visceral fat (under the muscles) rather than subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat can only be reduced via weight loss.
2. The applicator placement did not follow the natural orientation of the underlying fat so you did not get a "sculpted" visual effect. (Most commonly seen when 1 applicator is placed straight across the middle)
3. You gained weight since the treatment. Although Coolsculpting does eliminate some fat cells, weight gain can cause the remaining cells to enlarge, thus masking your results.
4. You are unable to see the results on yourself without visual comparison to your pre treatment appearance. (Proper before and after photos are key to appreciating results)
5. You are a "nonresponder". There is a percentage of people who just don't respond to the treatment. It's difficult to predict who the nonresonders will be pre treatment.
6. Not enough tissue made it into the applicator. If the fat doesn't come into contact with the cooling panels, they won't be destroyed.
I hope this helps. I suggest getting a follow up evaluation from your provider and voicing your concerns. If indicated, they may offer a complimentary or reduced price retreatment.
