After a blepharoplasty, I had mild scleral show--worse in one eye than the other (gave me a slightly wild-eyed look). I felt like it had changed my facial appearance and hated it. One year later, I had canthoplasty done by a different doctor. I am thrilled with the results and feel that I look like myself again.
The procedure was done under twilight sedation. Painless. A small incision was cut into each upper eyelid crease, and a stitch was run through to pull up the lower eyelid corner. I looked pretty bad for about three days. Very mild pain. I did not need to fill my pain pill prescription. One week out, I still have some mild swelling and faint yellow bruising but feel comfortable going out in public. It is possible there may be some mild scarring where the incision was made, but this is so much better than the round eye!
I am so glad I had it done. Worth the money.
