Scar Revision for Alar Base Reduction Scar?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

A revision of this scar would be the best option.  Many surgeons include revisions in the cost of the original surgery.  I would recommend seeing the surgeon that performed your original proceedure to see if that is the case.

I Have Had Excellent Results with LATISSE, but Now What?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Latisse prolongs the growth cycle of the lashes with maximun results in 16 weeks.  You lashes will revert back to their original condition if you discontinue its use.  Some clients have had success reducing their application to two or three days a week after reaching the desired results, but this varies per individual. You could certainly give it a try and if you see a reduction in lash lenght and volume, return to daily use.

Botox on Crows Feet Didnt Work. Done Again but Didnt Work Again. Should I Allow the Dr. to Inject More?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is unlikely that after two treatments that more Botox would give the desired result.  Botox works by weakening the muscles that cause "dynamic" wrinkles or those that occur when we move the face.  Over time with increased laxity of the skin and continued expression, these wrinkles become "static" and remain when the face is in repose.  Botox may soften these lines but it is unlikely that it will completely eliminate them, especially if the skin in the area has become what we call "redundant" or too lax.

Is It Okay to Take Acetaminophen 24 Hours After Botox?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Tylenol has no effect on Botox before or after treatment.  Asprin and other non steroidal anti inflammatories can increase the risk of bruising and should be avoided for at least a week prior to and 48 hours after any cosmetic treatment or surgery.

I Am 26 and Interested in Using Juvederm Under Eyes. Is This a Bad Idea?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Botox would be a better alternative in this area.  Hyaluronic acid fillers can cause swelling and discoloration in the lower lids that can potentially last a long time.  This type of filler material absorbs water and if injected diffusely in the lower lid tissues, it will often look abnormal.

Can the Result of Juvederm Be Reversed?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, etc) can cause swelling in the lower lids that potentially last a long time.  This type of filler material absorbs water and if injected diffusely in the lower lid tissues, it will look abnormal.  If it becomes a prolonged problem, the filler can be dissolved with an injection of an enzyme that will make it go away in as little as a few hours.  This treatment can be repeated in about a week if the initial result isn't satisfactory.

Rash and Blisters on Skin Above Upper Lip After Juvederm Injections?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Herpes ourbreaks are common after lip injections.  See your Dr for evaluation and treatment.  If you have a known history of cold sores, pretreating with an antiviral may minimize the risk of outbreak if you choose to have the proceedure done again in the future.

How Long Does It Take for Juvederm to Settle in? Mine Looks Awful 5 Days Post Injection!.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, etc) can cause swelling for several days to weeks after initial injection.  In the lower lids this swelling can potentially last a long time.  This type of filler material absorbs water and if injected diffusely in the lower lid tissues, it will look abnormal.  If it becomes a prolonged problem, the filler can be dissolved with an injection of an enzyme that will make it go away in a few hours with no side affects.  Wait at least 2-4 weeks before making any decisions.

Discoloration Side Effect of Restylane Injection Under Eyes.any Suggestion?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

A blueish tint is often a result of Restylane or ANY Hyaluronic Acid that is injected superfically under thin skin.

The only remedy is to have a professional inject Hyaluronidase, an enzyme that will dissolve the filler.  This product is safe and will reverse the effect causing the discoloration.

After Rhino, Can I Wear A Face Mask and Glasses While Working? And For How Long?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Anything that sits on the nose for any length of time will leave skin indentations.

This is especially true after a rhinoplasty when you are experiencing swelling from the surgery.  If you need to wear glasses or goggles for work during the 3 to 6 months post surgery, it is best to use the lightest weight possible and move them periodically to prevent indentation forming.

6 to 12 months post surgery when the edema is resolved wearing glasses or goggles for extended periods of time will be fine.

ProFractional W/MicroLaser Peel

I had never had any treatments like these before and overall my experience with the ProFrac/Microlaser peel was ok - I say ok only because it scared the crap out of me, it was loud, it smelled bad, and some of it was painful despite having numbing cream & injections. I was given atavan (sp?) which is like a valium or something, but unfortunately I was so on edge, I wasnt able to feel it and didnt relax at all! After the treatment was over then put this cream on your face that stops the burning feeling, which was fine except at first it makes it burn worse lol. I looked like freddy kreuger for the first few days, and was not confident I would be mostly normal again in 7-10 days or so. But I was pleasantly surprised, I did go back to normal, with the exception of the pixels, they are still noticeable, but my doctor assures me this will go away.Overall if I do get a good end result, I would be ok with doing this again now that I am prepared for it.I had ProFractional w/Microlaser peel about 4wks ago (I don't know the exact depths they went)and I dont really have anymore redness, but I do still have all the pixels on my face, and at first my pores were small and skin was smooth, but now my face is starting to look blah and the pores are back along with the pixels, my doctor assures me the pixels will disappear and that the best results are seen at the 8wk mark, I really hope I didnt spend all that time & money for nothing.
