Couldn't ask for more! Dr. Cross knows EXACTLY what you need by studying your area of concern. She is an expert in her field and a true artist. I've had a lot of experience with facial rejuvenations. Aside from the freckles you had when you were younger, it appears that you are also beginning to show some blotchy fainter brown areas consistent with melasma. There is a genetic predisposition to this, but the hormonal changes of pregnancy are notorious for bringing them out. Birth control pills can do the same. Sometimes the blotchiness can decrease once the excess hormonal stimulation is removed, but frequently it worsens throughout life. There are several options for improving the appearance of melasma, but you have to look at it more as maintenance, because for most people, it will keep coming back. There are several creams with and without hydroquinone, that can lighten them. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) can either make them better if the pigment is epidermal (more superficial), or make them worse if the pigment is dermal (deeper). Repeated fractionated lasers can reduce the pigmentation, but make sure you go to someone who has treated melasma frequently, and be prepared to adhere rigidly to the post-procedure instructions, because people who have melasma also tend to be more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
