I decided on the lapband before insurance guidelines stopped paying for banding over a BMI of 40 or so do to the low success and satisfaction rating and used the band a a scientific aid to study how to overcome its failing and exploit its capabilities with behavior and eating adjustments on an adhoc basis to see what can optimize weight loss. Now, 6 years later, I weight 165 and a BMI of 27 based on frame sign. Excess skin aside, I believe I hold the world record for weight loss and am no longer at risk of certain death from obesity diabetes and ready to begin recreating muscle and physical fitness training accompanied by a high veggie, fish, low carb diet with a nutritionist and physical trainer. I am curious if anyone wants to know more about my experience and perhaps before and after pictures and any other relevant experiences.Stuart Goltzman
