I don't know where you had the procedure performed, who performed it and if you had a complete evaluation prior to the Femilift being performed.  Your symptoms are not normal side effects  of having the Femilift procedure, but could be that you had some sort of infection prior to having the Femilift procedure done.  In our office,  every woman is evaluated by us, board certified physicians, a complete evaluation is done to ensure that a woman does not have an abnormal PAP or active vaginal infection prior to the procedure and that the correct settings are used.   I would recommend that you follow up with your physical, even if they are not the one who preformed the procedure.

Post menopausal women often have vaginal dryness, atrophy, recurrent UTI's and yeast infections.  These are due to changes in the vaginal health from a lack of hormones.  The Femilift fractionated CO2 laser improves the overall health of the vagina by improving moisture, laxity, rejuvenating the vaginal mucosa and improving the PH balance.  This often results in a decrease in UTI's and yeast infections. You sound like a great candidate for the Femilift.

The Femilift is a great choice for vaginal rejuvenation as it is effective, quick, virtually painless and the only restriction post procedure is nothing in the vagina for 3 days, i.e. tampons, douching, intercourse.  You can do all your other normal activities.

Yes the O Shot can help with symptoms of urinary incontinence, both stress and urge.  When PRP is injected into the anterior vaginal wall it stimulates collagen and helps women have a decrease in urine leakage with coughing, sneezing, running jumping as well enhancing the ability to hold their urine with urge symptoms.  We often recommend combining it with a laser treatment, such as the Femilft for added benefit.

How does the O-Shot differ from the G-Shot?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The G-Shot is a trademarked procedure by which a hyaluronic acid filler is injected into the area of the G-Spot to enhance orgasms in women who have vaginal orgasms with intercourse.  The results from this last around 4 months.

The O-Shot is a trademarked procedure which uses PRP (platelet rich plasma).  PRP is derived from a patients own blood.  It contains growth factors which help stimulate collagen and regenerate the tissue.  The PRP is injected around the clitoris and anterior vaginal wall, in the area around the bladder neck.  It can improve clitoral orgasms as well as help with incontinence in some patients.  In our office, we often combine the O-Shot with the Femilift laser for women with incontinence.  The Femilift is a CO2 laser which uses micro injury and heat to stimulated collagen, regenerate the vaginal mucosa, tighten the tissues and improve lubrication. We have seen great improvement in incontinence symptoms as well as improved sexual satisfaction with this combination. Our patients will start to see improvement almost immediately and the results last for 12-18 months.

Thank you for your question.  Femilift is a great non surgical option for women who want some degree of vaginal tightening with out undergoing surgery.  It is hard to quantify the exact amount of tightening a woman will get after having Femilift, but it will not be too tight.  We have been performing the Femilift procedure for about a year now and all our patients have been very happy with their degree of tightening, increased sensation, moisture and pleasure.

It is normal to have a slight watery discharge for a few days after having a Femilift treatment done, especially after your first one.  It is a fractionated CO2 laser which causes micro injuries in the vaginal mucosa, so it is possible that if you have atrophy, that you could have a little bit of blood in the discharge.  However, if there is a lot of blood, this is not normal and you may be bleeding from your uterus, cervix or from a tear. I would recommend that you follow up with your physician if it does not resolve in a day or 2.

Technically speaking, Femilift is a fractionated CO2 laser that causes micro injures, burns, in the vaginal mucosa to regenerate new tissue.  However, it does not cause generalized burns or bruising.  In our office, the procedure is performed by a board certified physician, at recommended settings and protocols, with no events of burning or bruising.  We have been performing Femilift procedures for almost a year now and have great results with no complications. If you have had burns or bruising, please make sure you are seeing a trained physician for follow up .

Will Femilift improve clitoral orgasms?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Femilift is a fractionated CO2 laser which is used to treat vaginal atrophy, laxity, moisture and sensation.  It uses heat and ablation to regenerate the vaginal mucosa and stimulate collagen formation. These effects will cause vaginal tightening, improve moisture and sensation and improve urinary incontinence. Femilift may improve vaginal orgasms.  The "O-Shot" is a better option for treating clitoral orgasmic issues as it treats the clitoris directly as well as the anterior vaginal wall with your own PRP ( platelet rich plasma) .    We have used the Femilift and "O-Shot" procedures  together in our practice and for our patients who want to improve their vaginal health and orgasms. Please consult with a trained physician for a complete workup.

How does FemiLift work?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Femilift is a fractionated CO2 laser that has 2 mechanisms of action on the vaginal mucosa (the pink inside of the vagina).  The first is the ablative part which creates micro injuries in the vaginal mucosa causing the lining to regenerate with new healthier tissue.  The second mechanism of action is heat. The Femilift laser heats the tissue of the vaginal canal to above 60 degrees celsius.  This is key as it takes that amount of heat to actually stimulate collagen formation.  Some of the other products on the market, i.e. There Va a radio frequency device,  do not meet the thermal threshold needed to actually stimulate new collagen growth.  So through tissue remodeling and collagen stimulation, Femilift is able to improve vaginal atrophy, lack of moisture, tightening and incontinence symptoms.
