Hello everyone! I just found this website and kinda fell in love. I was researching accutane stories and trying to mentally prepare myself for the side effects. I just started my first dose today which is 40mg once a day. Then I will go to twice a day after 30 days. I’ve been fighting this stupid curse called acne pretty much my whole life. Both Mom and dad struggled and now my sister and I are battling it. I’ve been on EVERYTHING over the counter, topicals, and antibiotics. Nothing in this world works. I hope that accutane can change that statement for me. I can’t wait to see the outcome! I will post updates along my journey. Also, best of luck to anyone taking it or about to take it ! Updated on 15 Nov 2017: so late on posting, but my WEEK 1 update. not much has changed although, my body is a bit dry and itchy but baby oil fixes that. also, my lips are a little dry but thats normal with cold weather. trying to stay positive and on top of the moisturizing! Updated on 25 Nov 2017: a little over 3 WEEKS update. been doing well. week 2 was hell. every pore on my face had a great amount of puss in it. but this week my face is looking like it has hope. chapped lips are pretty much the same. also i learned that if you pick at your face on accutane, it’s 100% worst than before. even if it’s a small black head. your skin is like paper pretty much. next week is my 1st month check and i believe that they’ll increase my dose. Updated on 10 Dec 2017: just another update. i’m not sure what week this is lol i’ve lost track but i’ve been keeping up with my picture taking. well, the update is the same. i broke out a little bit but other than that same chapped lips. also, i’ve noticed my hair is dry but that’s about it. i have kept up with moisturizing my whole body. i use witch hazel, a serum, and daily moisturizer on my face every night and morning. and lotion on the body. and the vaseline shower oil. my lips are cracking a lot more but vaseline lip therapy works amazingly. Updated on 25 Jan 2018: Just finished my 3rd month, heading into my 4th month. As you can see, a drastic change from day 1. My face is getting more clear by the week. Same side effects such as dryness but it’s not horrible. I’ve managed it from day 1. Also, my skin all over is like paper. Anything you nick your hand on, always leaves a little cut. But other than that I think this medicine is a miracle. I can see my face becoming clear and my pores are getting smaller. I still have a couple little ones, but they end up drying up within a day or two. Also, sometimes the ones I do get, don’t pop and it leaves a mark because my skin is so thin. Sorry for the late update, life has gotten kinda crazy lately. Haha. Updated on 7 Mar 2018: Hello everyone! Thanks for following on my accutane adventure! I’m heading into month number 5. Just had my apt last week and I thought I was done after this month but turns out I have two more months. They have upped my dose to 100mg instead of 80mg. Yikes! But everything is still the same. My face is almost 100% clear, thank god. Finally seeing the results that I’ve always wanted. Now it’s just these stupid scares. Ugh. But after my treatment, I’ve talked to my dr.
