I chose Mr Ali for my nose surgery because his work on other people looked skilful and professional, not just prettier noses, but complete reconstructions. I was very concerned about complications - I know it's rare, but a bad surgery can be life changing. The price was in the mid point of quotes I had. Although the offices & surgery are in Harley Street, they weren't the most luxurious I saw. If I wanted to document it all on social media I think I would have had a hard time making content. This was not a glamorous experience, it was no-nonsense and disciplined. Exactly what I wanted. The unsung hero in this story is Laura, his business manager. She is a dream to work with, whether it be scheduling appointments, sending through documents or following up on questions. She even checked in with me on the days either side of my surgery. It's been 8 monoths from the surgery and I'm happy to say I'm pleased with the results and the recovery time was surprisingly fast. Although the first few days were pretty bleak, 2 weeks in and my bruising has pretty much disappeared. I keep trying to find excuses to show it off. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.
I had primary rhinoplasty with Dr Ali in December 2023 & the whole experience was frankly so upsetting and disappointing. I had researched many surgeons and Dr Ali seemed to be reputable; I can only assume many reviews are fabricated or that negative reviews are being deleted. I paid £13k for a nose that looks hardly any different to before. That looks nothing like the simulated photos and nothing like what was discussed in consultation. I had expressed to Dr Ali many times that I was insecure by my nose tip and would like a more lifted result, if this was not possible I would not have had the surgery. Dr Ali assured me that my nose job would be straight forward and that my tip would not be droopy post surgery; this is false. I am unable to share simulated photos due to signing a disclaimer not to share said photos, however the results are nowhere near the same. When expressing my concerns to Dr Ali, I had a teams call crying about my absolute shock at the results and he assured me with some steroid injections in my nose that the scar tissue would go away and the tip would no longer be ‘swollen’. I agreed. I went to get these injections, and whilst being under immense stress, Dr Ali then informed me I had to pay an additional £200 for the injection. This was not explained or agreed prior as again, if I had known this, I wouldn’t have got it. The results after this were in fairness, slightly better, but the tip still droopy. The bridge of my nose is also wonky and the bone of my nose now visible through a thin layer of skin. I tried to get nose filler to correct my nose appearance and have been refused any filler in my nose at all due to the ‘botched surgery’. I trust the words of my aesthetic practitioner, as a qualified midwife. I am therefore stuck with this nose. Dr Ali had said he would complete a revision surgery for me but I would have to pay an additional 6k for this, to cover hospital fees etc. This is a violation considering the only reason for needing a revision surgery is due to the fact it was done so poorly. On the day of my surgery with Pall Mall Private Hospital in Manchester, it was nothing short of traumatic. I arrived at 7am along with 4 other patients, and had fasted prior as advised. Although all admissions were at the same time, I was not operated on until the afternoon so had been fasting for close to 24 hours & I was incredibly faint. My hospital room was small and had no window, compared to other patients with larger rooms and bathrooms. My surgery was also completed within the hour, as my partner at the time was shocked to see me return to my room as quickly as I did, considering this to be such an invasive surgery. The hospital staff were awful & I cried for the majority of this day. Having had another private surgery recently at another hospital it highlighted how truly terrible I was treated at Pall Mall and by Dr Ali, who has done nothing but brush off my concerns. Post surgery my recovery was terrible which in part Dr Ali of course can not control. However I feel him and the hospital were to blame for the sores in my mouth, lips and throat from not taking care when placing the tube down my throat for surgery. Upon complaining to Dr Ali many times about my concerns and results etc, I had asked for a SAR which includes my medical and consultation notes. The notes I believe were written up as a result of this request as the notes did not align to what was verbally discussed. This left me in a very difficult situation as from a legal standpoint, it was inevitably my word against theirs. In hindsight, I should have asked for the notes in writing at the time and had it confirmed in writing that if a revision rhinoplasty was needed, it would have been included in the initial cost. I am now left with results that embarrass me. I am unable to get filler to improve my appearance and my only option is revision rhinoplasty. This will likely cost me another £13k. Therefore a grand total of £26k on nose surgeries. This is not acceptable and I would advise no one to trust Dr Ali with their surgery.
