Halo resurfacing laser will definitely help your concerns, acne scars, with much less down time and less risks than other resurfacing lasers.  But you may need a few treatments depending on your scars and expectations.  Regardless your goal should  be "improvement", not the "correction" like any other laser treatments and procedures.  Halo laser also will help overall skin rejuvenation improving your textures, fine wrinkles, pores, and brown pigmentation, etc.  I do recommend you to see a dermatologist for complete evaluations.

 First of all, sun protection and avoiding any irritation on skin is most important for melasma.  Melasma is not easy to treat but rather you need to choose right laser treatments as well as topical therapy.  You may avoid IPL or any light treatments which will make your melasma worse.  Halo Hybrid Skin Resurfacing Laser proved as a safe and effective treatment for melasma.  Halo laser skin resurfacing with right settings will improve your melasma, enlarged pores, fine wrinkles, and skin textures. The recommended melasma treatments at our clinic are a few Halo treatments every 4-6 weeks and use RX HQ between the treatments as well as sun protection.

There are many different kinds of chemical peels, including Mandelic  acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, pyruvic acid, TCA, etc.  The options can be according to your skin type and concerns, such as Rosacea, pigmentation, acne, skin rejuvenation, etc. If your concern is freckles, IPL or  BBL light treatments will be more effective than chemical peel.

Thanks for your sharing your concerns. There is no complete cure for melasma, but instead we can improve it as much as we can and make it under control. 

Sun protection is the most important treatment and prevention for melasma. We can also improve the melasma with Halo skin resurfacing laser which has outstanding clinical effectiveness and safety.  You may need a few halo laser treatments . Many lasers can make the melasma worse so please choose any laser procedures very carefully. The HQ 4/8% prior to the laser treatments will be beneficial as well as using non HQ skin brightening cream as a maintenance after the laser procedures.
