To improve my appearance
Acne scars and it really works! Updated on 7 Apr 2011: I have had acne for over 20 yrs now and have seen several derms over the yrs depending on where i was living at the time and i have to say he is one of my favorite. He is such a sweetheart and takes his time with you so that you never feel rushed, also you always see the Dr. never a PA or just nurse which is what i have found is common in the DC area. His cosmetic procedure prices are great for the area as well!

I wanted to look younger. I chose his practice because he was very professional and thorough in his evaluation. Plus, he answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed.
Terrible experience. Will never go back. Very unprofessional. I had an appointment for adult for acne. I informed him that I had been on retin A (more than once) and it did not work. I have very sensitive skin. I told him I did not want to be prescribed that again. He wrote the prescription anyway and told me to try it again and come back again if it did not work. I did not take the prescription, and was charged for services that he did not render professionally. Save your time and copay !
I went in a year ago to get a small red mark removed from my face. It was $300 out of pocket since it was cosmetic. The equipment in the office seems ancient and inefficient. He lasered it off and two weeks later, it was still there (never went away). I came in for a follow up, and he did the procedure again. Still didn't work. Not even a reduction in size or redness. Since then, I tried to call and it's impossible to get through to anyone. You have to call and leave a message and wait for them to call you back, which they take forever to do. I finally got through and they said that if I wanted him to try treating it again, it would now be $330. WTF? Why would I pay even more money for work that didn't treat the problem the first or second time?! I wish I could go back in time and save myself the $300, pain of the laser treatments, and the two days I had to take off work to visit the office.
Laser Genesis treatments can be done every 2-4 weeks. With little to no downtime, it is a nice treatment option for treating fine lines/wrinkles, acne scars, facial redness, uneven skin texture, and large pores. Multiple treatments are recommended for best results.
Xeomin is the latest FDA approved product for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adults. Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are similar products that have unique differences in their chemical structures. The treatment and final results are nearly identical.
Depending on the size and location of the surgical defect, second intention healing can give a better cosmetic result than having reconstructive surgery. However, it is not appropriate in all cases. If matching the adjacent skin is a concern, a flap or complex closure depending on the size and location of the nasal defect will give a better match to the adjacent nasal skin. The level of care required will be greater with the flap, but the aesthetic results after it has completely healed will be worth it. If you decide to let the wound heal on it's own and you are not satisfied with the final outcome, a revision procedure can be planned with your reconstructive surgeon.
Basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) are considered "slow" growing tumors when compared to other skin cancers. They are locally destructive tumors. However, please keep in mind that the rate of growth and the amount of tissue damage from a BCC will vary from individual to individual depending on multiple factors. The benefit of Mohs surgery is that this procedure will be able to pinpoint and remove the visible portions of the BCC as well as the roots of the BCC so that the surgical site will be clear of carcinoma. After the margins are clear of carcinoma, the surgical defect can be safely reconstructed.
Recovery time is dependent on multiple factors. Some of these factors include the location, the size of the defect post-operatively, and the type of repair performed. For example, the face will heal faster than any of the other locations on the body, such as the legs which usually heal the slowest.. Your recovery time will also be dependent upon the wound healing process. There are many factors that impact wound healing time. Factors that impact wound healing include: age, stress levels, chronic hypoxia, medications, nutrition, infection, smoking, alcohol consumption, and systemic diseases such as diabetes. Because each individual's recovery time is dependent on many variables, I highly recommend discussing this with the Mohs Surgeon in your area so you are adequately prepared for the recovery.
