Ideally it is important for your doctor to review you in person. This enables a full consultation to take place, which involves a discussion of all relevant issues, and an examination to ensure an in depth analysis. However, in the current challenging times, virtual consultations are becoming more common. This means that the initial consultation may be carried out via a video consultation platform (zoom or similar). Photographs are submitted in advance (via encrypted and secure system) to allow your doctor to review your case fully. However at some point a face to face consultation will be required if you are to proceed with surgery.
