The last couple years I've noticed my forehead lines sticking around longer than they used to after expressions. I'd been considering Botox for the future but when I saw the price list at the dermatologist, I decided to ask what the doctor thought. Dr. Lee suggested starting low with 6 units to see how effective it would be and not overdo it. This seemed fair to me. I wasn't going to freeze my whole face, just hit pause on my forehead after compensating my expressions during my mask wearing time. I set my appointment because treat yo'self. This would cost about the same as a blonde bleach job.
This morning I had my Botox Consult with Dr. Lee. The only new information she offered for treatment options was that sometimes putting a couple units at your 11's can keep some people's brows from extenuating, or the brow being heavy. That's great and all but I couldn't afford to add more units to my appointment at the last minute, so I said we'll see how this first round goes before expanding units or locations. Perhaps next time or in a touch-up appointment.
The syringes looked similar to insulin with the little orange caps. The needle itself might be smaller than that, I wasn't going to ask for gauge info lol. Nearly laid out on her tray, Dr. Lee quickly poked my forehead. Minimal discomfort. Only one I'd call brief pain. Poke poke. Done. Like any injection, there's the usual injection site irritation risks. Bruising, redness, etc. She gave me a sheet of paper with my post-procedure directions. No cardio or vigorous workouts for 4 hours. Do not lay down or bend over. Basically go take it easy, sit in a chair or run some errands. You're good to go, just don't touch your face.
On my way out of the office, I paid and the receptionist signed me up for the Allé rewards program so I would get benefits next time I wanted to do Botox again or another cosmetic. Looks like I'll get $20 off from that next time which is cool. I know it'll last 3-4 months so this isn't a permanent solution for wrinkles and crinkles. But that's fine because I want to look rested and prevent deeper lines from showing up. Ounce of prevention, please.
We'll see how the result look in about 2 weeks when it should be setting in!

I've kept up my injections with Dr. Lee and after some goofy looking forehead awakenings, we've figured out that I do need the glabella (11's) shot with about 5 units to preserve my forehead. I have minimal lines on my forehead and its continued to give me the lovely benefit of lessening my wrap-around tension headache pain when migraines strike. I still have movement in my eyebrows so I don't look frozen or spooky. Averaging ~10-12 units in my forehead now and it lasts about 3 months.
Definitely sign up for the rewards program to get a $20 off every other (ish) time you go in for Botox. Happy with my results.
