Dr. Ahn is incredible! I had my front tooth bonded several times from other dentists and each time they couldn’t match the color and would look fake. I found Dr. Ahn and she gave me my dream tooth! Matches perfectly to my other teeth, is super strong and I literally get complements every week. So thankful and highly recommend!!
It would be helpful if I could see your before photos so I can see what was done. But at this point your front 6 teeth look pretty good except looking large because the posterior teeth are too short & small in comparison. If you want to balance out your smile, a crown lengthening procedure performed on your posterior teeth, more on the right than left, will help. The reason why you show too much gum is because your upper jaw didn’t develop properly. Depending on where your enamel ends at the gum line, you may need veneers in at least the premolars to match the anterior 6 restorations.
Your options depend on how severe the condition is and whether it can be corrected or not. You should certainly let your dentist know how you feel and ask if he can replace the one that you feel is too short.
The veneers can be contoured to the shape you like, but there are 2 variables:1. The dentist may not have the artistic skills to free hand the shape 2. It may weaken the porcelains and the mister will be less even if polished chairside You can ask for new veneers but you will likely need to pay again since you so priced of them to be cemented permanently and if the lab technician he or she uses is not gifted, you may not get better veneers. If you choose this option, i suggest you take close up photos of veneers you love. I think gum contouring will help w the overall look as well. Most importantly talk to your dentist about the options he or she can offer. Best to you. Dr Ahn
Hello! You are right, it is not normal to have bleeding gums if you are flossing and brushing properly. There are 3 possible reasons: 1. You may have occlusal or bite interferences. 2. The edges of the bonding may not be smooth so bacteria is accumulating under the irregular edges. 3. You may not be flossing and brushing sufficiently. 1 minute salt water rinses 2-3 times per day and water floss may help. All the best to you! Dr Ahn
Hello! You actually have a smile that most people would be happy with. This tells me that you are highly aware of yourself and your body. With this said, I do understand what you are describing here bc I have the same concerns about my smile. The most likely reason why you are feeling this is bc you may have restricted frenum of your lips and possibly your tongue, these fascial restrictions impact or interfere with the development of our jaws and faces. When our upper jaw is a underdeveloped, your smile will be affected. You can search online for myofunctional therapy, a combination of orofacial myofunctional therapy, frenectomy may help you feel less “restricted” in your function. Jaw development with an appliance like Homeoblock may also be helpful but none of these therapy options can be considered without proper diagnostic workup and exam. All the best to you! Dr Ahn
