Braces as well as aligners can straighten overcrowded teeth. One thing to keep in mind is the severity of overcrowding along with possibly needing&nbsp;extractions, bite correction, etc. The ideal thing to do, is to see your local orthodontist for a complete and thorough consultation to properly diagnose you.

Would clear aligners help straighten my teeth, which are tragically overcrowded? My canines (3rd teeth) are severely pushed upwards, while my lateral incisors (2nd teeth) were pushed backwards, by my canine &amp; front teeth. My lower teeth aren't too overcrowded, but a few haven't grown straight, to their full potential due to my teeth being overcrowded. I was trying to avoid getting braces my entire life. Would getting clear aligners work just as effectively to achieve my desired, straight teeth?

Hi there, it may be that your clear retainer shrunk due to overheating. If the retainer still fits and sits completely on your teeth, I would recommend to continue using for now. The ideal thing to do is to see your local orthodontist and he/she can determine if the retainer is still a good fit to properly retain your teeth.

I believe I put my clear retainer in an area that was to hot causing it to distort. I would like to know if wearing for a few days will affect my teeth since I'm out of town and can't get to my orthodontist at the moment.

My clear retainer overheated, and is now tight fitting and difficult to remove and put on.

Thank you for posting photos along with your question.
Clear aligners would be able to correct your front tooth. It is difficult to say if "stripping/ filing/polishing" would be necessary in this case. However, if your provider thinks it is necessary they would make sure you are not left with a space. &nbsp;In addition to clear aligners, you may need an attachment on that tooth to help the aligner "track/grab and move" that tooth into the proper position.

Hi, a couple years ago I had the six month smile braces that made a wonderful difference to my teeth. However the front tooth is still very slightly crooked and I was told that it couldn't be straightened anymore. However I've switched dentists as I've moved, and was told today that I could get clear aligners that would straighten it completely, all they'd have to do is file it a little bit to create a small gap so it can be straightened. But im worried I'd be left with a gap. Any advice?

I would definitely recommend straightening your teeth verse dental contouring. &nbsp;Aligning your teeth will allow the orthodontist to place your teeth in the proper position such as aligning the front teeth, widening your upper arch to give your a broader smile. &nbsp;(From your second photo you can see that your upper arch has a "V" shape and ideally we like to see a "U" shape to give you a&nbsp;more broad smile).
You can also note that your lower teeth do not show when you bite down, this is called a deep bite. &nbsp;I can not see your lower teeth but can guess that they are crowded and may have some wear on them due to the depth of your bite. &nbsp;Aligning your teeth with aligners or any other orthodontic option will not only benefit your upper alignment but will give you a healthy bite and protect your lower teeth from severe wear thus shortening your teeth.&nbsp;

Good news! your teeth are fixable.
You have some crowding and you may need to have some space created to align your teeth. &nbsp;Depending on you bite, the angulation of your teeth and position within the bone, your orthodontist will decide if this can be done with some expansion, extractions or some stripping. &nbsp;Any of these are possible modalities to align your teeth. &nbsp;If you don't want any facial change your best options would probably be expansion and stripping. &nbsp;I&nbsp;would like to emphasize that these options all depend on a few other factors.
Go in to see an orthodontist and see what they have to say!

i have my front two teeths protruded out and overlappd as shown in photo. i m scared if getting braces will really help after listening to some scaring feedbacks. some people find it cute but it embarrasses me most of d time . i dont want my face structure to change as i have heard so far .(underbite/overbite cases) . i want my teeths to be looked upon and want a confident doctor to say "yes your teeth will be fine ..just like others". look at it and let me know if i am worth having normal teeth.?

Invisalign can correct overbites, depending on how severe your overbite is you may need to wear elastics in addition to Invisalign. Discuss your concerns with your dentist and let him/her know that your overbite is concerning you and that you are willing to wear elastics to correct your bite.

I started Invisalign with the hopes of straightening my teeth and correcting my overbite. A year and a half later my teeth are sort of straight except for one and my overbite hasn't changed at all. I go to a dentist not orthodontist and they have assured me that the Invisalign will correct the overbite in my last two trays of my last set. 2 weeks doesn't seem like enough time to correct an overbite to me. Should I transfer to an orthodontist or see if I can get a refund? Please help!

Yes, it is possible to completely close your gap.
This will be the next step in your orthodontic treatment.
You must be aware that maintaining any of your orthodontic correction requires retention. This means you must either wear a retainer and/or&nbsp;have a permanent 'lingual' retainer placed.
 
The lingual retainer is a thin wire that is bonded/glued to the back surface of your top teeth to hold them in the proper place and the space closed.

I've always hated my gap/ overjet / over bite and I have traditional braces for two years and a retainer for two years. Will my gap completely close and stay closed?
