He is literally the BEST in Northern California. He is so nice, hilarious, and extremely accommodating. I went in for a consultation for botox and I ended up getting the treatment that same day! He explained everything to me and made sure I had no further questions and just said, well do you want to get it done today? Heck yes! I love all of the staff as well, they are really nice and make sure that you are comfortable. If you are looking for cosmetic dermatologist I HIGHLY recommend Dr. H and Rejuvene!! He really is an artist, I can't wait to get my lips done!
Love Rejuvene staff and Dr. H. He is a brilliant doctor and Chico is lucky to have him. He really listens to you and your concerns or needs. He is also an artist! He is especially great at creating a natural look and I have never been disappointed. Thanks D. H!
I was so nervous at first, but after talking to Dr.Hodari ( and his incredibly patient staff) I was able to relax. The procedure was fast and pain free! I was able to go right back to work and not feel self-conscious. It takes a little while to take effect, but it was worth the wait. My forehead was much smoother, and my crow's feet are non-existent. I know that Botox is supposed to be my secret, but I just have to tell everyone what a great experience I had!
The masseter muscles are among the strongest muscles pound for pound in the human body. In my experience these muscles require quite a bit of Botox to reduce the dynamic nature of those powerful muscles. I usually inject 15 units per side on the initial treatment. I find that Botox tends to wear off a little quicker in this area than in the forehead. Patients often report it lasting for 2-3 months, rather than the 3-4 months it can last in other areas. I don't think it will matter that you had only 10 units per side on the first treatment. Your provider was probably just being conservative, which should always be appreciated. Every patient responds differently and it's always easier to just add a little more (you can't take it away!). The total units that you will require should not matter whether you get it all on the first treatment or if it's divided over 2 treatments within about a 2 weak period. For future treatments your provider will know exactly how much you need and can more confidently do it all in the initial visit. Hope that helps. #LoveYourSkin - Dr. Hodari
Hi Hannah,This should not be a problem. There are no expected interactions or contraindications to getting these two procedures done this close to each other. As a reminder, your lips may bruise and may be swollen for up to 1-2 weeks after the lip augmentation. It may be obvious that your lips were done when you present for your surgery - not sure if that bothers you or not. Thanks and hope that helps. Dr. Hodari, Dermatologist in Chico, CA.
It shouldn't be a problem for you to stop taking actuate after only one week of use. If you don't mind me saying, it is unusual for someone to only take accutane for such a short time. Also, the dose of only 10 mg is very low. Typically, in the Unites States at least, accutane is taken for approximately 5-6 months. A complete course is 120-150 mg/kg of body weight over the course of the treatment, designated by your physician. This usually equates to about 60-80 mg per day divided over twice daily dosing. Hope that helps. I encourage you to consult with a local dermatologist for more complete prescribing details. Thanks! HodariMD
Localized swelling after Botox injections is not completely unusual. The degree of swelling and associated other symptoms can determine the cause and possible treatment for the swelling. The most likely cause is a small collection of blood just underneath the skin called a hematoma. This is a benign condition that usually improves in 24 to 48 hours. Icing can help speed up the healing process. A localized infection, while extremely rare, could also cause a slight swelling. This would typically cause more pain. If you think you might have an infection please notify your doctor immediately. Thanks! - Dr. Hodari
