Dr. Fernandes did reconstruction surgery on my lip and upper lip area, after MOHS surgery. He did an excellent job of recreating the top left portion my lip after MOHS had to take most of it due to Basal Cell Carcinoma. When I went into the OR, I had a large hole and most of the lip and the area above it was gone. I never imagined I would ever had a left top lip again, but I did and I owe it all to him. It's only been a little over a month, but it's healing very well and I'm now started to have feeling again. He is a wonderful surgeon, very caring and compassion. My reconstruction surgery and the MOHS had been scheduled for months as we first tried some "chemo" based creams to try and shrink down the down the size, hoping I would not need to lose much of my lip. Unfortuantely, that did not happen and the MOHS had to go back in four times to have clear margins, so Dr. Fernandes has a lot of work to perform once I was in his OR. Ironically, the reconstruction portion was originally scheduled with another local Plastic Surgeon, but she her office called and cancelled the surgery, less then 24 hours before I was going it. They then told me she had been on a partial Medical Leave, but that information was NEVER shared with me with the months leading up to the surgery, as you can imagine, I was very upset. My MOHS surgeon, contacted Dr. Fernandes and he agreed to see me the next day for a consult, which went well. We then were able to book the surgery, but I did have to wait another month for scheduling OR time. In hindsight, I'm so happy that this happened, because he did such an excellent job. As they say, everything happens for a reason and for me I feel this was meant to be! If I ever need any further Plastic Surgery, he is the only doctor I will see! Updated on 9 Feb 2020: Updated to show the images, which start just after I finished the MOHS part of the surgery. This is when I left the MOHS surgeon's office and went to the Hospital (OR) to have the "Reconsctruction" done. I really was stunned when I saw how much of my lip had been taken. I am still having some numbness in the area where the flap was, but overall doing much better. I will see Dr. Fernandes again in at two months and will have follow ups for a few months. He said, I an expect it to take close to a full year to see the end results. The scaring and redness will continue to diminish and hopefully the nerves will grow back and I'll have feeling again. I am still SUPER impressed with how well this came out, considering half of my upper left lip was removed by the MOHS surgeon to get clear margins. I had Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma.
I am very happy with my results for my breast augmentation surgery with Dr. Fernandes. He made the entire experience about what was best for me to get to my desired results. I truly believe he exceeded my expectations and has restored myself confidence. Through out the process Dr. Fernandes made me feel comfortable, safe and educated me each step of the way. I would recommend him to anyone and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for any other future procedures.
I recommend Dr. Fernandes with the highest regard! My previous plastic surgeon retired, and I had some trepidation about finding a new practitioner for my Botox. The result with Dr. Fernandes was the best I've experienced in years! Dr. Fernandes took time listening to my concerns, discussed a treatment plan and used the freshest Botox available. Within two weeks I felt that 10 years had been taken off my face. I returned in two weeks for the typical post-Botox check in, and he tweaked a few areas at no charge. I had no bruising and the results were beautifully symmetrical. If you are looking for a skilled and professional plastic surgeon, I recommend Dr. Fernandes without reservation. His office is beautifully executed, comfortable and private. Staff could not be nicer and helpful!
Patient's with masseter muscle hypertrophy (enlargement of the muscle the moves your lower jaw when you chew) can benefit ascetically from botox injections to thin that muscle. This will theoretically give a patient a more heart shaped face, as it will narrow your lower face. You mentioned that you do not want fillers, however, filling the upper face/cheek can also help. I don't think you will achieve the results you are looking for with botox to the masseter as that area on you is not too prominent. You should see a PS that can evaluate you in person and give you multiple options.
The incisions used for liposuction and fat transfer are quite small. They are just wide enough to get the liposuction cannula in which is usually about 5mm. The injection cannula is even smaller. They are often closed with a single suture. They can be hidden in the belly button, in skin folds and under bathing suit lines etc. If you were able to look very close up, in person, and knew where they were, you would probably see a small line or discoloration. But yes, they not very noticeable.
